| Punnyz 09/22/20 6:44:09 PM #1 | I'll get back to one piece soon, I just had a need to knock some of this out anyways, I was always drawn to this show because of the manliness and Kenshiro being a bad ass and the old styles but ...thats what it is. Its ...old? I guess i'm not used to watching "retro" anime, but this show is unique in which that the show is more about the end result than it is the "journey" to get there, ya know? Most episodes, the villains stand no chance. And the show just...becomes frustrating at that point. These goons just pillage, rape, and kill but they're easily dispatched. They cannot put up a fight yet they do SO MUCH damage. The show has a hard on to show that theres SOME decent people but they end up dead by the end of the episode or at most, the arc. I have actually discussed my gripes with the show before. I have mentioned I cannot finish the first season because of show stupid they make Kenshiro. He saves someone or a village , but SPARES someone, or even knows theres more of them out there, hes like, kbai and leaves, the mooks come back and kill hte remaining people, and kenshiro comes back to finish the job and then he blames it on the era. NO, JUST...WAIT 5 MINUTES YOU MORON yes, its the era, but YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER BY NOW buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut despite this, I finally muscled through it His fight was SHIN...was just ...anticlimatic. The one person to put up a MAJOR fight and its resolved quickly. Thats why I brought up the Retro angle, anime just wasn't as indepth and thoughtful as it is now. This is a product of it's time. I just didn't realize FOTS was like this. I expected more because Jojo was pretty darn crazy too. But this show is straightforward They introduced the concept of Kenshiro's brothers and hes already killed Jagi. Again, people have gone out of their ways to say how cool Jagi is. And....he IS a scum bag, but every villain has been. I just don't see the big deal. I know the actual angle is a scumbag THATS RELATED TO KENSHIRO ...OOOOOO but yea...hes dead now. Thats that I will say its refreshing to see Rei though, but hes a douchebag too. I mighit go indepth on my opinions later but yea, as I said, this show is something else. tl;dr Its more about seeing the people blow up in weird ways than it is the story and the characters. I just didn't think the show was...that shallow? Thats putting it harshly but I can't find a better way to say it --- |

Punisher did face off against Sentry (one of the most powerful Marvel characters, basically a psychotic Superman) during Dark Reign, and while he didn't defeat him, Punisher was actually able to hold him off and out-gambit Sentry to escape. Like Phoenix or something I know they'll probably try NOT to make Punisher in their line of fire because not only thats not really his jurisdiction but ...he can't do much any ways but it..must've come up before, right?
