They would have been stopped, and whatever platform they used to broadcast executions would have banned them during/after the first one, but they had the means to enact this plan. You don't need the media to broadcast someone's death, the power to capture and post that sort of content is in the average layperson's hands.

Like, I want to compare what's happening here to what happened at Rooster Teeth. I'm not the most well versed in RT lore, I don't like them that much and I mostly know what I know because my friend likes them.

You have two guys, Geoff Ramsey and Ryan Haywood. Ryan got booted from the company because he was texting fans of his work and goading them into sexual conversations. One of them was 17 and lied about her age, others were legal but still pretty young. He used his position as an entertainer to get in contact with women who knew who he was, and he got them to speak sexually to him and send him nude photos. That was an abuse of power.

Meanwhile, my understanding of the Geoff Ramsey situation is this - he was going through a divorce at the time, and he got on Tinder and other online dating services. He got in contact with several women who knew who he was, though he wasn't seeking them out. Eventually he felt like online dating was too awkward for him, so he deleted the apps he was using. This is from his official statement, and I don't know if it's been debunked or not, but this is my understanding of the situation.

Which case sounds more like Quinton Flynn:

• Messaging fans of his work, knowing that his relative fame would create a positive response, and working to make them feel special before steering the conversation into sexual territory, or
• Downloading some dating apps and running into some women who know who he is?

I like Quinton Flynn's work, but this information is damning as fuck and I think he's a sexual predator. Really fucking bummed out.

Personally, I think the fact that he goes after fans of his work does make him a predator. He knows that they like his work, and they're probably starstruck to be talking to the voice actor behind one of their favorite characters.

He's not DMing e-girls or like Instagram models, he's not creeping around on dating sites to get some trim on the side. He's DMing hardcore fans of his characters to get sexual content from them. He's targeting people who would react the most enthusiastically to him, and he's keeping them on the hook by performing his characters' voices for them and talking about the characters they enjoy. He's using his relative fame to manipulate his female fans into sexual situations.

You can't throw that back on the women he's targeting because "they're all adults! they should have known better!" - if you're targeted by a celebrity who makes you feel special, who appeals to the aspects of their fame that appeal to you as a fan to lure you into a sexual conversation, then you're being manipulated by someone who has power over you and who knows they have power over you. It's not okay, and Quinton Flynn is absolutely in the wrong for abusing his position as an entertainer over his fans for his own sexual gratification.

For the record, he has a long track record of using his YouTube/Twitch money for charity. He used to donate to charities directly until he realised the amount of for-profit scam charities there are, and then he started donating to GoFundMe campaigns where he ran into the same problem.

Nowadays, I think he lives on a modest budget and donates the rest. His girlfriend is a vet, and he learns through her when a family isn't able to pay for life-saving pet surgery. He drops anywhere between 1-3 grand on surgeries to save pets for families who can't afford it.

Like, I'll run Catholicism and Christianity into the ground, but I'll give a free pass to Judaism and Islam. Obviously there are shitheads in every religion, and there are bullshit sects and all that, but considering the history of persecution that Jewish and Muslim people have both faced in places where they aren't the dominant religion, I don't feel comfortable slagging off their faiths as a whole.

But I have no qualms referring to the Catholic church as a power structure dedicated to protecting child molesters, staffed with pedophiles who ruin the word of God with the evil of the human heart. And I think the difference is influence and structure.

Australia and America were built upon the foundations of Christianity. America had puritans. Australia had temperance. Even with our countries separating church and state, our nations are still entrenched in Christian values.

And Christian values have been wielded as a weapon during my lifetime. You had all those crazy fundies decrying Pokemon as satanic. You have American states where evolution is rejected in favour of creationism. You have groups like the Westboro Baptist Church who harass gay people with slurs and who picket the funerals of dead soldiers to tell their grieving families that they're going to hell, and they got away with that shit for years - while to this day, you have vast swaths of information on peaceful, faithful Muslims being sold to the government and used in "anti-terrorism related capacities", to the point where the personal information of millions of people from Muslim-oriented phone apps is being sold to the government.

In Australia and America, Christianity and Catholicism has been an institution since the day I was born. Muslims have their churches and customs off to the side, that's their business. Jewish people have their churches and customs, it doesn't affect me in the slightest and it doesn't affect day to day life. Christianity and Catholicism has been used as the norm for my entire life. They are an institution with power over my freedom, unlike Judaism or Islam. They can affect what I watch, they can affect popular opinion on media and politics. And they're so entrenched in Western culture that they can get away with protecting child molesters like George Pell, which I think is reprehensible.

Catholics aren't persecuted - where I live, they are persecutors. They're an entrenched power structure with unparalleled freedom and good press, even as they bestow honors and protections upon child molesters. Fuck them.

Saying that - different religions have different strangleholds over the zeitgeist in different regions of the world. Zionists support genocidal tactics, and the more conservative wave of Islam put people to death. But they don't have any power over where I live - Christians and Catholics do. And to go after them for their bullshit is to fight the power in my backyard, whereas going after Jewish or Muslim people is punching down. You want to work against Zionism in Israel, or conservative, unfair Islamic laws in the UAE? Then you're fighting the power. But holding Muslims or Jewish people to more scrutiny than Catholicism in a Christian nation, where Catholics actively get away with crimes like child rape to little/no consequence thanks to intervention from the Catholic church, is just fucking stupid.

Saying that, individual Christians and Catholics aren't inherently bad. Religious freedom is important, and an attack on the church isn't an attack on the individual followers or the faith. None of this is levelled against any individual followers of Catholicism or Christianity as a whole, and faith isn't inherently bad.

But in America and Australia, Christians aren't persecuted. They shaped policy for centuries according to their faith, and their values continue to shape policy to this day. I can't say that about Jewish or Muslim people, and I don't see the point of singling them out when they hold no real power in the zeitgeist. I'd rather learn about those faiths and the differences between different interpretations of those faiths than hear a fundie fuckwit justify paying thousands of dollars to a godless megachurch, or explaining how Christian values justify locking immigrants in subpar conditions, while they slag off other religions as violent, close-minded and greedy.

Faith isn't inherently bad. Christians and Catholics are entitled to their faith. There are bad faith actors in every religion. But frankly, I can't abide by this fearful hatemongering of religions with little to no impact on my culture. They've either done next to nothing to you, or you're painting the whole group by their worst members. I would rather level that amount of criticism against the dominant faith in my culture than kick a smaller religion in the nuts.

For what it's worth, I don't think Rose Tico is inherently a bad, unsalvagable character. I think the harassment Kelly Marie Tran has faced for the role is awful, and if given better material to work with I think she would have been fine - frankly, I think all the newcomers were done dirty with dogshit material after TFA served as a safe launch-pad for them, and Rose Tico had the misfortune of jumping on AFTER that safe launch-pad.

But I didn't like her swerve into romantic interest in Finn at the end, and I didn't like anything about Finn's thwarted sacrifice. That was a bad scene, and frankly it should have been cut along with the big Canto Bight chase sequence. This was a pointless culmination to a storyline that was held together with lint and toothpicks, and it was a pointless extension of an already overlong movie.

But let's be real here. "Somehow, Palpatine returned" is the biggest cop-out piece of shit in the sequel trilogy. Even if Finn's thwarted sacrifice was dogshit, it felt like it at least tried to have a lazy, tacked-on point to it. Palpatine's return lacked even that. Even when Palpatine was an ass-pull greater scope villain in Return of the Jedi, he at least had a point. Now he's a lazy, cynical draw to draw paying customers into a trainwreck if a movie, and they don't even give him the dignity of having a reason why he returned. The way they handwaved his return away set the tone for the entire movie, and the entire movie met the standard of this moment.

The Last Jedi derailed the trilogy, to the point that it arguably made The Rise of Skywalker possible in the first place. But even if you want to judge the movies on that scale, the rock-bottom moments of TRoS are still worse than TLJ's worst moments. Even if TLJ felt really self-righteous and full of itself in how it directly responded to The Force Awakens, it still felt like it tried. Even as a wholly unnecessary conclusion to a padded out subplot, Rose Tico preventing Finn from ganking himself felt like it tried to have a point. It missed the mark, and maybe they didn't try very hard, but it was going for something.

"Somehow, Palpatine returned" is the movie going "shut the fuck up, Palpatine's back, now watch this rushed dogturd of a movie we made specifically to pander to you, a dumb nerd we don't give two shits about. Buy a Kylo Ren coffee mug and a Porg plushie, you whale".

4/5/6 would be great though. I'm nearly finished with Trials and Tribulations, which is the one game from the original trilogy that I haven't finished before. I was hoping for the Apollo game some time in the future, just to tide me over once TnT is done, but a second collection would be fan-fucking-tastic.

This has been a rough year or two on here. RIP and my condolences.

Flamazide's death is the one that really got me. CE seems like it's more adult oriented than it used to, with people who've grown up on here, so it's only natural to start seeing people dying of diseases, terminal illnesses, suicide and from conditions exacerbated by poverty and stuff. Life seems to get exponentially more fucked up the older we get.

And the worst part is that it'll only get worse the older we get, given that folks are still posting on here 5, 10, 20 years later. But then you've got your IRL friends and family to worry about too.

It's a really sad state of affairs. Being a part of internet communities like this really fucks you up when the people you've known for ages start dying. Even before CE, I was in a community where a guy I spoke to a lot suffered an epileptic fit and choked to death or something.

What matters the most is that we remember the positive effects they had on our lives, and move forward to honour their memory.

I actually really liked Ellie and Dinah's relationship. Moments like the music shop were some of my favorite moments of the game, and I was genuinely afraid for Dinah over the course of the story. The end of the game estranging them, as much as it's trying to hammer home Ellie's character arc of revenge fucking everything up, is where I turned on the game - that last part of the game was unnecessary imo. It was moreso the feeling of a tacked on epilogue, but breaking up what Ellie and Dinah had really soured me on the experience further.

Ellie's relationship with Dinah is a positive example of LGBT representation imo. The trans kid wasn't, if you ask me, but that's a whole other kettle of fish. The main controversy around it is fucking stupid because Ellie reciprocated an expression of romantic interest from a girl in the first game - it had been a part of her character for six years before the sequel came out, and the bashing about the SJW agenda started from the teaser trailer and lasted throughout its development to its release.

I dunno - the whole shitshow around it just bugs me, because I thought it was done really well and I enjoyed their relationship.

Department stores destroy food and clothes instead of donating them. Drop a Twix bar that snaps in half? They'll open the packaging and throw the food away, even if it would have been perfectly fine to eat otherwise.

Similar case with clothes - they don't spoil, they don't go out of date. If a store was going to get rid of old stock, they could easily donate it to a cause that would make use of it. Instead, they cut perfectly fine clothes into ribbons.

Like sure, food waste in the US couldn't feed all of the impoverished people of India due to transport times and whatnot. But American food waste isn't even being used to feed the impoverished people of America. The same cities with high rates of homelessness destroy perfectly fine food to deter homeless people from getting it, despite discarded food having the same value to the company whether it's destroyed or not. That's not a logistics problem.

Nah, a lot of blonde women who are model-level attractive tend to blend together. Frankly it's something that happens to most women who attain that level of conventional attractiveness, but blonde women in particular feel like they occupy a particular samey niche.

Like don't get me wrong, they're much more attractive than I'll ever be. The criticism here isn't that they're ugly. I just don't find them attractive personally, partially because I've been over-exposed to that standard of beauty since I was a kid and become desensitised to it, and partially because I know they're so far out of my league as a person that there's no point in drooling over them.

Super hot ladies just kinda blend together after awhile. The only thing to hate about caucasians in this context is how much they want to feel excluded and marginalized for stupid bullshit reasons.

I recently had a couple of doctor's appointments, and I got a blood test. I'm scheduled to see my doctor for the next few weeks, and I might be going to a psychologist to work through some baggage I have regarding anxiety and alcohol. Because I'm classed as being in a lower tax bracket, I'm eligible for free healthcare. For the last three visits to the doctor and that blood test, and for future doctor's visits and for these upcoming psychologist visits, I don't have to pay a dime.

I wouldn't have been able to afford regular doctor's appointments, and I wouldn't be able to see a psychologist, on the amount of money I have. Because I'm able to seek free healthcare, I'm able to seek help. By maintaining my physical and mental health, I'm going to be much more effective at my job.

I don't see how some stupid fucks can stan a company like Amazon for fucking their employees in the asshole and be okay with them getting millions of dollars in taxpayer dollars that doesn't go back into the economy, and be so against a level of healthcare that would benefit the thousands of people who actually keep Amazon afloat with their labor.

it's less a pipeline and more "loloololololoolol check out some nazis"

And then if you like what they have to say and check out their videos, you get other redpill types in the recommended section of those videos. And then if you get into those videos, there's another few creators for you to check out.

That's the pipeline part. A YouTube creator features a right-wing person of interest, YouTube recommends that person and similar content, and the more content you're exposed to the further down the rabbit hole you're sent. It gets more and more extreme the more content you check out, because the more inflammatory content is usually the stuff that gets the most clicks in shitty right-wing circles and the algorithm is invested in keeping people watching.
