And that is exactly why xillia 2 imo has the best battle system in the series. Everyone was fun to play because of their character gimmicks. Elize with her teepo modes, rowen and his arte tuning, and muzet with her warping.

The fire trial, rising up, and the dlc episode battle theme were my favorite music tracks from the game, but man the battle system is friggin' awful. I am a huge tales of fan that tends to replay a tales of game at least twice just because of the gameplay, but zestiria......yeah, I don't want to experience the ass armatization, the characters and their terrible artes lists, the awful A.I. and the awful equipment skill system ever again. I was so done with the game that I just used rose and dream slashered my way through the game just to get it over with, lol.

Yeah man. I only played the first stage so far, but I can tell there has been a good deal of improvements over the first game. I like the castlevania 3 touch of the level map screen, and the music is on point.

Breath of fire needs to be redeemed after that asscheeks part 5.

Give me a updated dragon gene system from part 3, but keep the combos and skills from part 4. I am not too picky about the battle system...I can take the classic bof 3 and 4 style or something more modern like FF7 remakes action ATB bar hybrid system.

I am not shocked to be honest. A lot of teens go to these game tournaments along with the late 20s and 30s gamers...no telling what goes on behind closed doors when they all meet up.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a me too movement swept the competitive shooter community at this point, especially for those teams that live together like some of those korean overwatch teams do.

I am a little concerned since I am sort of close to the myrtle beach idiots in south carolina, but my county in SC hasn't been too bad, all things considered. Majority of the deaths here came from the elderly in nursing homes.

I haven't been going anywhere on the regular. The only three places I have been to is my brother's place, gamestop (only for releases back in march, april, and xenoblade definitive edition recently. Decided to get last of us 2 digital. Will probably still get the physical for ghost of whatchamacallit though), and my monthly doctor appointments (not going to lie...I get nervous going to this during this time because I don't want no middle-aged/old people without masks coughing all over the damn place in the waiting room. My doctor did a virtual visit back in may....kind of wish she kept going with that for awhile).

If anything, I worry more about my brother. He works two jobs, both restaurant related. Take-out orders and pizza delivery has been a constant thing during all of this.

I remember both me and my brother being surprised, thats for sure. For me, I kind of like was all "whatever" all after the fact because I really loved the gameplay and didn't really care who I was playing as since the game still felt like metal gear solid. I think my brother was a little more pissed about it because he really liked snake.

Maybe I was just way more chill as an 18 year old or something, I don't know.

I remember I used to be a hater, hatin' on the battle network series just because it didn't play like the class, X, or even the zero games. Eventually, I bought that megaman battle network 5 combo thingy for the DS on a random whim. I played it and was like......"well shit, I feel stupid now, because these games are mad fun". I missed out, but I did eventually get around to buying the first two games used from gamestop and playing them all after the fact.

...which does me all of jack-shit of good since blizzard split the roles into their own seperate placement matches and SR brackets, =/ I am a career diamond+high plat player using a dps hero, mainly pharah, reaper, and soldier 76 (but flexing to support or tank when needed) for the 17 seasons or so before role queue came along, so going with a dps hero at first is what I am used to. I really don't care for having to do placements three times.

Like, I like the ability to flex that classic open queing brings, but there isn't a good way to stop your team going like, 5 dps heroes without a role queue type of system in place.

Actually, I would be fine with the current role queue system if the game doesn't need to take 15 or more damn minutes to put you in a game for picking dps. I can pick a game with a much, much larger community like call of duty and get in games instantly, but overwatch needs to take damn near 20 minutes each time, for picking a certain role? MMR these nuts, something isn't up with the system.

For me, its a combination of both this and the role queue wait times.

These days, I only hop on every like, 50 days or so just to do dps placements, and even if I happen to win most of my games (won 4 and lost 1 when I did my placements this morning), you still leave the game mad as fuck. The last two games I was in, my team still won, but I had dudes bitching at me (a dps, which tends to be heat magnets by default) for not killing XXXX, but its one of those teams where the tanks never push for whatever reason, and the support were a pair that really weren't good for the team comp and counters the enemies had. Its a team effort, but nah, the dps is definitely getting chewed out first for every mistake when things go south. Its like, when I queue up, I have to wait up towards 18 minutes to finally play, only to have some dorks whining in my ear when things don't go our way? Meh.

*Also, the one game I lost was a hanamura game....the kind where the enemy steamrolls and caps both points under 3 minutes when your team is on defense, and your team never passes the initial choke on attack. Symm, flanking with reaper, going over with pharah, etc. etc., anything I did wasn't going to matter because all the tanks did was dance at the choke and the supports sat there with them (even if I managed to get a pick, the tanks on my team never got aggresive and budged. The other dps was a junkrat who never really did anything besides supercharge the enemy zarya. He never swapped off at anypoint). I waited a 18 minute queue just to get stomped in like, 6 minutes. Fun times!!*

Since I am already at the point where all I do is play 5 games to do placements, I might just uninstall the game for good at some point. The only game I played where I genuinly had fun was the very first 1....with only relevant callouts being on the voice comms. I really wish the PS4 had the gears of war series, because I would be playing that for my competitive shooter fix, =/

I had the classic model, but my sister had that new model one that came with super mario all-stars+super mario world combo cart. That newer model one worked better imo, and I kind of wish I had one back before the snes classic was a thing.

Yeah, thats the part I really doubt. Took them forever and a decade to get river city girls, the first circle of the moon, and even the mercenary kings collector editions to get out. Currently sitting here waiting forever just for them to put streets of rage 4 out.....and all I got was the lower tier one with the genesis case, lol.

About to just double dip on that since I been waiting this entire time for my own copy of streets of rage 4/just shareplayed it off a friend before.

I haven't beaten it yet, but I am feeling this way about the last of us 2. The gameplay is pretty good, and I love the way the guns look and sound when you shoot them, but the story feels like it just drags at times. The past three days, I will be playing, walking and ellie angry grunting, but then I eventually lose interest because nothing is going on (what really kept me going in last of us 1 was the banter between joel and ellie. Seeing their relationship grow and the shit they go through was interesting. In part 2, ellie, at least the part of the game where I am at, she is by herself. With no one to talk to like that, I don't really have anything to really keep my attention. That dina chick was okay, but then this twist that I didn't really care for happened, and now she is staying behind, so its like "eh". Next thing you know, I get distracted because I am now on my phone looking at random youtube clips and just listening to music, =/ *The point of the game I am supposed to be at is getting to this hospital. I swear I was on my way to said hospital for 3 IRL days straight, lol. Really hoping the plot picks up soon.*

Honestly, I just want to get back to playing nioh 2. Only reason I am forcing myself to get through last of us 2 now is because I feel like I would eventually get spoiled if I take too long to beat it since everyone else and their mom is talking about it right now.

I definitely understand the fighting back mentality...I had to do it myself back in 4th grade, and never had a problem again. With middle school, its a different story though, and the situation can be a bit more complicated (like, if the person being bullied is a late bloomer and said late bloomer has to deal with some jackass that looks like he might as well be a grown-ass man at that point, lol). I can sympathize since I myself was the lightest friggin' thing in middleschool. I had some height to me, but I weighed around 100 pounds or something I kid you not. (I was real sickly as a kid). I didn't really start gaining a ton of weight, and got a good bit taller until I became a freshman in highschool.

I remember the most popular bully in my middle school back in 1996-1997 being this brickhouse of a kid that hit puberty way before everyone else....dude was like, 6'3 and in great shape since he wrestled. From what I remember, he was held back twice in the past, so he also had two years over the vast majority of the 7th and 8th graders. I never had a problem with the guy myself since I really kept to myself and talked to the same group of 4 kids in middleschool, but for the poor kids who became his target, the best strategy was to just ignore the guy and get the hell out of the way as best as you could. Trying to fight him definitely ended up terrible for the 3 kids or so who tried at various points.

Said bully was suspended and in detention a lot, so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he lead a terrible life and ended up in jail at some point. (I have never seen him again after I left this middle school and went to the highschool section, which was right next door. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he got expelled for fighting). In general, my middleschool was an absolute dumpster fire and those teachers really did not give a shit about you.

Kids nowadays won't know the struggle of dial-up Internet, where connecting blocked all calls on the landline (and visa-versa), so your parents pretty much threw you off the computer if they had to make a call.

I got into so many heated arguments with my mother, back when the dreamcast was the hottest new thing and I got crazy addicted to my first online game ever, phantasy star online (to be fair, If left to my own devices I would have been playing that game 24/7, so being knocked off was a good thing all things considered). My older brother actually paid for his own seperate phoneline because of how much girls used to call him, and to avoid the whole internet dial-up thing between me and my mother, lol.

Was born in 83' Random thing to remember, but back when final fantasy 7 first released, I had actually pre-ordered it from toys r' us and got a cloud t-shirt. I loved the game so much that I used to rock the hell out of that shirt in middle school. In those days, you would expect mad dudes to call you a nerd about it, but nope, a shit ton of kids actually complemented me on that shirt, and either asked me what the game was about or dudes just starting up a conversation with me about how much they like the game too.

Definitely one of my favorite 90s related gaming memories. That, and all the pokemon I traded at school.

I am definitely glad to have been done with school before the social media and smartphone era started. Sometimes I think about just how rough some of the more quiet kids have it nowadays, with each embarrassing social moment probably being recorded by someone, or just the whole cyber-bullying thing.

Pretty great these days actually, at least when it comes to modern LG OLEDs and the majority of LCD TVs nowadays.

I game on a 65 inch samsung QLED Q9FN, which averages 20 ms in game mode, and around 10 ms playing @ 120hz in PC mode/with freesync enabled. The 2019 and 2020 samsung QLEDs improved on input lag a good bit...averages at 14 ms in game mode, and 6 ms @ 120hz.

As much as I love gaming in general on a TV this big, I do miss playing those twitch-based competitive shooters like overwatch on something a little smaller....its easier to keep track of things on a smaller TV or on a monitor.

Def in the past. The old PS2 boards used to be extremely helpful (I actually discovered a lot of games I would have never played, like with god hand), and when you compare how the community used to be to the state the current console boards is in, its like.......damn. Just, damn.

Diminishing returns is definitely a thing with each passing generation post 360/PS3. Personally, I am more impressed with games using a unique art style to achieve things not possible in the previous generations (basically, I am waiting to see how a potential dragonball fighter z 2 would look on the PS5. I want to see some crazy good looking cel-shaded games and whatnot. I haven't really been wow'd with games going the realistic graphics approach since king kong on the xbox 360 to be perfectly honest), or if they can manage a consistent 60 fps throughout all the games. (which I doubt is going to happen. 30 fps console games will still be the norm, =/ ).

Tales of symphonia chronicles collector's edition on the PS3 came with a ton of stuff for just 99 dollars. Probably my favorite CE game I ever got.

Fire emblem fates special edition was also great for 100 dollars. Had both games plus the revelations dlc on one 3DS cart.
