Basically, they increase each stat to some minimum level, so you're missing out on stat boosts from stats that were already above the minimum. I'm pretty sure promoting immediately is fine if you just want to beat the game, but if you're really into minimaxing you're sacrificing a bit. --- Congrats to azuarc, GotD2 Guru champ! |

The sandworm and its debuffs were awful, though (it does so much damage if you dont esuna immediately!), as was some of the trash (not sure how much of that was my fault vs the tank; sandworm issues were definitely my fault).
