Its 2020 man. Basically no one can do much on modern cars these days. The average backyard mechanic doesnt have the diagnostic tools even if he has the know how (and the average back yard mechanic might be able to build a 1980 ford from a pile of parts but thats not even relevant to working on a new vehichle).

Eh, i can still work on my 2016 Civic. at the very least i can replace basic fluids and repair basic parts without having to use some special nintendo level screw driver.

Hondas are amazing cars. Luxury cars A) don't give performance as much attention and B) Make it nearly impossible for owners to do their own work on it, thus, forcing them to take it to the dealer and paying extra for proprietary parts.

Where was All Lives Matter on these? You cant complain about it not getting any attention then sit back and not give it any attention. Anyway, Eyeore taught acceptance and touched on things that would be considered taboo in his time. He was the embodiment of depression, full on, but his friends never attacked him for it. In fact, they almost didn't notice it. they always tried to include him and loved him, and even if he didn't show it, you could see that he appreciated them.

He's my favorite character.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying what the protesters are doing is important. There is no reason to take that away for any reason. Its not like all of a sudden everyone will stop caring. You're seeing a positive shift from those who might not have been sympathetic to the cause the last several times. You're seeing celebrities be more vocal, which has a huge influence. you're seeing companies make their own in house policy changes to aid in positive support for this movement. That's how it starts.

I also want to point out that this is such a dumb thing to worry about. you yourself are acting like people asking for it to be moved to a museum are making such an outlandish "demand"...if its interpretation, as you yourself said, can be taken as problematic, maybe we do put it in a museum where context will be better established and replace it in public with something else. That hurts no one and there are only benefits to it. If your counter argument is "slippery slope!" then its even worse because you're crying about something that hasn't happened and likely won't.

Its so weird that adapting to the times is seen as such a bad thing to Republicans. They will fight to the death to cling to every morsel reminder of slavery they can for some reason. Moving that statue would not sanitize history. No one is trying to ignore it. As we grow as a nation and get better, we have a better understanding of what things to glorify and how to do it. Your logic indicates that a statue of a slave in chains would be ok because its our history, but smart people know its not a history we need to salute in public.

Personally I think it's wrong to erase statues and monuments to the men who fought in that war on either side with honor and courage. To erase that history is to erase our need to remember. Maybe we should tear down statues of FDR and Harry Truman for their racist and bigoted views. Let's erase all history of our past presidents and leaders who don't think like we do. At what point would the justification end?

no one is erasing history. there is a difference between celebrating it and acknowledging it. Why should we celebrate traitors with statues?
