Its main claims to fame - all of the dark, jumpscare-filled, meta stuff and the borderline ARG it had going with all of the hidden content in the files - are by no means unique or particularly clever. It was basically just a flavor-of-the-month sort of game: if it hadn't become randomly super popular, there wouldn't be reason to talk about it, any more than any other of the games of its type. Not that I didn't like it though. It was quite the experience in the moment, and I still find that content and such fairly interesting. But calling it "genius" is giving the game far far too much credit. [LFAQs-redacted-quote] I only played a bit of that, but it seemed pretty well written. I wanna continue it one day. BakonBitz posted... It seemed like he was planning a spiritual successor or something with all the secrets he planted. Project Libitina (or something to that effect). It's still in the works, it just got delayed mostly because Dan Salvato didn't quite expect DDLC to become so popular, and dealing with everything that came with that ate up his time.
