Doesn't make a difference, the Dems ensured Trump's reelection with their impeachment fiasco. Lots of free pubicity, but massive amounts of free TV airtime doesn't mean much if every minute demonstrates more idiocy. Those chumps mostly trained as lawyers once upon a time, but forgot everything about rules of evidence. Their clown training worked, though, the souvenir pen signing was worthy of a Lucille Ball "I Love Lucy" skit.

The actual poll-of-the-day today is about commuting distance.

TC apparently only MAKES posts, doesn't read them, so doesn't realize they are on the wrong board.

And, in response to TC's rant: I answered 1/2 hour, my usual commute, but with the university campus closed for a month due to the Hunan Flu scare, I'm out of work, and could just as truthfully have answered no commute, no work.

Um, there is a 42% death rate right now in italy (between people who recover or died). Of people who have contacted it, almost 10% have died (and 9% more are in serious or critical condition).

That is over a 15% rate of people who either are dead, or could potentially die in Italy.HereHere is an up to date link to the info (2 hours ago)

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/
21,000 out of a population of 60 million. .03%. 16,000 mild infection, 1500 serious, 2000 recovered, 1500 deaths.

Makes me curious about what makes Italy different from France, with a shared border, common climate and geography, similar population and culture? France: 4500 infections of 67 million population, .0067%, 91 deaths.

Coronavirus in US: 2500 infected of a population of 330 million, .00075%, 51 deaths. Also curious about what makes Washington State and New York different from the rest of the United States, those two states accounting for half the US infections.

The US is gonna blow that outta the water in the weeks to come. I mean, its estimated that 40-70% of the nation will get it.
In Wuhan, the original center of infection, 80,000 were infected of a population of 11 million. That's 0.7%. Of that, 70,000 have recovered, 3000 died.

In comparison, the CDC estimates 5-20% of the US population contracts flu yearly, with 200,000 hospitalizations and 12-18,000 deaths.

Light in comparison with dark. We know that dark is heavier than light, because it settles in corners, in cracks, under things, and, of course, in caves and at the bottom of the ocean. Dark is also slower than light, if you watch closely when turning off a lamp or lightbulb, you can see the dark moving in to replace the light.

I believe I said intelligent use of vaccine and "universal" yearly flu shots for adults. At risk for dying from flu? Okay, probably worth the risk. Normal healthy adult, 2 chances in a million vaccine doses of life-threatening side effects, yearly from age 30-70, is 80 chances in a million, still miniscule except to the unlucky losers of that lottery.

Universal yearly flu shots for adults with a 2 per million risk of serious nerve damage? More than twice the risk of Wuhan virus infection? No, Thanks, I'd much rather risk the flu. Unnecessary adult pneumonia vaccine? Absolutely not.

Pro-transsexual, absolutely, a really vicious form of congenital neurological intersexuality, often savagely discriminated against. "Transgenderism" as the flavor-of-the-week? Nah. Crossdressing is fine, but if you're attracting unfavorable attention, you're doing it wrong.
