I can't say I really expected it to be a masterpiece, I just wanted to play it because I heard it was good. I don't think my view of it was tainted in any way by positive praise it was given. I just think it was kind of shallow in the end. I'd give it like an 8.5 overall

Also I beat the whole game on hard except for the prologue, because restarting after 30 minutes of gameplay and unskippable cutscenes got old very quick. Had to dumb it down for that part, lol

Dude that bullet hell minigame at the end was the most bullshit thing I've ever tried to do in my life. I probably tried 25 times before giving in and getting help. Apparently if your PS4 isn't on the internet that option doesn't appear and you actually have to beat it on your own. I would never have beaten the game in that case.

In any case, the game was pretty good but I definitely don't understand how people think it's some god tier masterpiece. I enjoyed it but it was hardly some philosophical masterpiece some people claim it is? The gameplay was still fun though and 2B was hot so people were right on those parts at least. Still I don't think I understand the critical level of acclaim the game has managed to garner since it came out.

Also when the game said it was going to delete my save I let it do it not thinking it actually would, so that was pretty cool. I had no plans on continuing so maybe if I still wanted to play more I wouldn't have taken the risk, but I like that the game did that, it was pretty thematic

People were mad before they understood the slightest thing about his playstyle. The issue is that he's a FE character.
I mean personally I would prefer almost anything else over an FE character, but I do think Byleth is pretty fun to play. I don't really care either way because anything that isn't KOS-MOS is meaningless to me but as far is the general perception goes the hype level of Byleth into Arms character is pretty bottom tier
