My boss(staunch jehovah witness) hired me knowing I was in college and gave me a permanent fixed schedule to accommodate my classes. I worked like that for over a year until she found out I was gay. After that, she changed my work schedule and told me if it conflicted with my school, maybe I needed to find another job that didn't. I started only attending classes when I could just so I could keep my job. Then once she saw I was still thriving, she started to complain about the number of loans I would process a day. This turned into daily harassment from her. I knew she was going to find some reason to fire me and sadly, Florida didn't have laws that protected gays at their jobs back then.
