How else does Apple expect me to connect a MIDI keyboard, or an audio interface to my laptop? It's just insane.. With the keyboard situation I would still be hesitant, unless it's a model with the magic keyboard. They are revamping their entire product line right now to replace the keyboards with magic keyboard which fixes the problems with the previous butterfly keyboard. --- |

Someone attempted to bully me for a total of one day out of my entire schooling experience and everyone (including people that would bully others) stood up for me and told him to fuck off basically because 1.) he was new 2.) i'd been there forever at that point, 2nd grade - 7th grade He never tried to bully me again and I don't know what he's up to today but from what I gather he probably had a rough family life and was getting bumped around different schools often. It would be interesting to see how he turned out. That said the most prominent person I can think of that did bully others is spending much of his life behind bars after making a habit out of vehicular theft and repeatedly doing it. --- |

I mean I'd listen to music but never really tried to use it as a marker of any kind. This year I've been pretty lax on following new releases after I changed jobs but I think with this new method I should probably get way more exposure to new stuff. Sounds like you have a good approach as well. ApherosyLove posted... Yep! When I worked 10 hours at a car plant it was how I stayed sane. I forced myself not to look at the clock and just counted time passed as "albums listened to." Helped so much. I'm glad I'm not the only one. My job isn't as disengaging as factory work which I've done before but it is pretty much something I know like the back of my hand at this point so it's similar in that regard for sure. --- |

| Kombucha 04/28/20 9:52:33 PM #1 | This might not be helpful to everyone but if you work from home and set your schedule, I've found this is way more pleasurable than just paying attention to the clock or setting alarms. Apple Music lists the total playtime of any single album and I'm pretty sure Spotify does the same. I've basically been setting myself up with 2-4 albums for each two hour block to keep track of time and it's so much more pleasurable when compared to just waiting for an alarm. When the music is done I'll take a short break/get up before going back to work. I can't really 100% logically explain why it's any better but it definitely does pull my mind away from paying attention to the clock which tends to make things drag for me. Anyone ever done something similar with playlists/albums? --- |

| Kombucha 04/28/20 8:14:10 PM #11 | I ended up purchasing Xiaomi Redmi Airdots for a hair above $20 on Amazon this week and they last for about 3 1/2 hours. I've found as long as I am aware when I'm not listening and put them away in their case they last long enough to get by just fine. I just wanted something cheap before I went all in on a more expensive option because I wasn't sold on wireless. The sound quality is actually good for the price even though it is middle of the road. Only caveat is I had to put on the small rubber tips because the medium ones were kinda cramped. Anyways they've sold me on going wireless at least. I think when these start to bite the dust I will go with pixel buds because of the automatic noise cancellation when riding a bike/taking the subway/whatever but so far they're surprisingly good for being at that kind of price point. I can't see myself paying over $200 for wireless earbuds though. --- |

I think if I were ever to be a homeowner with decent basement space, I'd convert the area into rooms around hobbies or make a hangout den of some kind. I've seen some really nice layouts for extra rooms. Otherwise it just ends up as storage for things that never get used. If you have good AT&T signal you could always get a grandfathered iPad data sim that's unlimited off of eBay for $35 a month and put it in a hotspot, get LTE speeds, worst case scenario. --- |

If someone comes over and is like, I have purchased some movies on Amazon, maybe we should watch- with a firestick that's nearly impossible unless you want to wipe the entire device and transfer ownership of it to your guest. With something like Roku and Apple TV you could just have your friend log into a separate Amazon app, which is what I've done in the past. --- |
