Last Jedi is pretty bad, but so are the rest of the prequels and sequels. 1 and 2 at least compete with it for worst SW film. Though I have zero idea what people are talking about when they say it was the best film. I can't comprehend that at all. At a minimum it's incredibly slow and boring. That's fine for Blade Runner, but a Star Wars movie should be fun and make you want to watch it more than one time. Just thinking of rewatching all the casino planet shit prevents me from ever viewing it again.The Last Jedi to me was exciting and well paced, it gave me the same feeling I got about Star Wars as a kid. |

It's like making a Bond villain Russian or the enemy faction in a FPS a generic terrorist organization. It's the default safe pick for an enemy empire in a simple space adventure if you don't want to use "evil space wizard" (which Star Wars also did).Nazis being bad seems to be a pretty controversial opinion in modern America and on this board. Probably why the alt right hated The Last Jedi. |
