In Pittsburgh it makes sense, I don't know the exact histories of other cities so I can't say for certain there. But it wasn't that long ago that here we displaced thousands of black residents near downtown, told them that we'd rebuild the houses we tore down to make room for a new hockey stadium, and then... backed out of the deal and told them to buzz off.

Mario is fortunate that he only got a little bit of paint, honestly.

African-American man called into 93.7 the fan and asked the radio host why he isn't personally protesting and then went off on why he thought it was his right to loot and burn businesses down afterwards. Like, holy crap. Some people actually believe it is their right to commit crime. That is so wild to me.

Nah he was definitely good enough. You cant tell me he wasnt one of the 64 best QBs in the world at that point

It goes back to all the other baggage on top of that like you said earlier
He wouldn't accept a backup spot. So now you are down to 32. He couldn't play in conventional systems. So now you are down to like 8 to 10 maybe. And, no, price to value with talent available. He wasn't fucking worth it. Not even close. He got benched for a scrub qb his final year as is.

That said, if he was good enough he could have probably took a shit on live television during the national anthem and still got 30 million a year.

I am exaggerating as there is always a breaking point, but the thing is that his talent did not exceed the locker room division and average player talent in comparison.

And just to put a capper on that thought, its also perfectly fine and welcome for people to advocate for the girl getting a job somewhere, trying to demonstrate that her opinions arent bad for business.

Same for fans of Kaepernick
Only idiots think Kaepernick shouldn't get a job for his opinions. He shouldn't have gotten a job because he wasn't good enough. Simple as that.

Im definitely not saying to feel sorry for Kaepernick in anything but maybe principle, especially now after the latest words from the NFL. Hes definitely not hurting for money, as his activism since his dismissal has shown.

But as for the girl, I dont have much sympathy. Public statements have consequences. Freedom of speech doesnt mean freedom from negative feedback that could harm your career. Thats not censorship.
I don't think her statement warranted the reaction.

I agree the statement the girl and the guy made about how to create a racist name for an African-American warranted a harsh reaction.

This was extremely flimsy imho.

Like, the job and the university in those cases made the exact same decisions NFL teams did

Having her around is not worth the hassle her views, that she publicly expressed presumably, would cause the company/university
I don't see how the university had to make that decision. If anything, maybe they had the opportunity to educate her more (I mean it's a 17 to 18 year old girl) to flesh out her opinion more.

You had to doxx her to even get that far. Then had to consistently harrass her work place to get her fired. Then pepper the university all over social media and spam to get her removed. For what?

I do think there is a good argument on whether a job should keep someone if their views will hurt their bottom line. On one hand these are ordinary people with every day jobs maybe to feed their families, and on the other hand companies make decisions on profits.

When you are a high profile celebrity with millions of dollars, the scenario changes some. The NFL solely makes decisions based on what helps them win a championship.

A. How good is Colin kaepnerik.
B. Does he bring locker room issues that can hurt cohesiveness
C. How much money does he want
D. Is he willing to work in the offense we have
E. Is he willing to be a backup if we offer him that.

I mean, the problem is Kaepernik was a fringe starter that refused to play backup wanted paid an immense salary and could fit in limited offensive schemes... That ALSO could divide locker rooms.

In the NFL it is bottom line, do you help us win. Same in the NBA. There are some players that are past their primes they keep just because they are so good for their locker rooms. Etc.

Nobody literally doxxed anyone here. Literally got a teenagers college to dismiss them and take away a scholarship they earned.

Your opinions constantly boil down to "It's only worth getting upset about if it affects me, personally." If your opinions believe that the national anthem has more worth than the lives of an entire race of people, then you need to reevaluate your opinions. Period.

Also, keep in mind that for all your talk of censorship, and your side's regular derision of "cancel culture", you sure don't seem up in arms when Colin Kaepernick lost his job and has yet to be rehired by the NFL for using HIS free speech rights. That's someone who was ACTUALLY cancelled, yet I don't see any of the usual suspects getting highly offended on his behalf.
Inviso, if you think protesting during a national anthem affects me personally. You are wrong. It has zero effect on me in either way, or you most likely. I, however, have an opinion on it. I also have an opinion on the crazy ass bitch that keeps posting how her husband is a cheating piece of shit and keeps saying how much she loves him the next day also. Her shit doesn't personally affect me. I have an opinion on it.

I have an opinion on what the new ride at Six Flags is gonna be eventhough I will never ride it or see it in person.

Like, you aren't even being logical here.

I can think you have the RIGHT to protest what you feel is an injustice. I can think it is disrespectful to do it during a national anthem to our flag. I can agree you can peacefully protest about racial disparity in regards to police. I can also think the statistics do not support the cause.

Colin Kaepernick was a QB who wasn't good enough to overwhelm the baggage he brought with himself to a locker room. He wasn't cancelled for his specific opinion. He was weighted on a scale of worth it or not and not deemed worth it. Same as Ray Rice. Same as Antonio Brown. Same as Dez Bryant. Same as TO was deemed worth it multiple times and Randy Moss was deemed worth it.

What is censorship is the girl who posted something along the bullshit lines of "This is my opinion and if it upsets you so be it. But, people shouldn't be protesting what happened to George Floyd and others because they are criminals that never would have been in the situation if they hadn't broken the law in the first place".

I don't agree with her opinion. I think it misses a key point in the scenario. In that, sure, George Floyd wouldn't have died there if he hadn't committed a crime prior, but also that he wouldn't have died there also if the Cop hadn't done something negligent and wrong to cause his death also. Committing a crime doesn't excuse that.

But, the response was to doxx her. Have her fired from her job. Then contact her university in which she was offered a scholarship and have it revoked and her expelled from college.

I mean, her opinion in my opinion is misguided and doesn't hit the mark too well, but that seems a bit much to me in return tbqh.

  1. I have literally said even good cops can make mistakes because they are human or have bad days. Of course mistakes can happen. This is a part of being human.
  2. Yes, I don't think the Republican Party or any legitimate party is "monsters". I think some have misguided ideas of what is right for America. I think, in general, most are doing what they think is right for America and love their country (I hope).
  3. I argued against the Unemployment boost as it was crafted because it had a design flaw. It is flawed. However, once you implement that flaw, you cannot simply remove it when down supply jobs are affected by it. You are double whammying them. I think there is a general disconnect from people who don't understand this because they aren't one of us. I have been a waffle vote this election off and on depending on the day due to circumstances, but I am absolutely a 100% spite vote for the Democrats if I am hit both ways from the Republican Party (Mnuchin crafting a flawed design, then removing it when it affected my job). At that point, I wouldn't even care about what the positions of Biden and Trump are because Trump's administration fucked my family straight up. If the Republicans offer up a reasonable alternative, then I will again view my vote regarding the positions and candidates themselves again. Until that point, Trump's administration doesn't deserve my vote.
  4. I think an opinion can only be wrong if factually able to be proven. You can't argue an opinion that is subjective and declare it just wrong because you deem it so.
  5. The Democratic party and the Republican party are both self-serving and make decisions on what they think has the most likelihood to be elected. They do this and then do other things in office forgetting those promises because they felt they had to say what they had to in order to get into office to do what they think is best for America. Politicians in general are liars, and they shouldn't be trust. They do, however, want what they feel is best for America. How they get to the position to do what they think is best is definitely questionable though.
  6. I support my ideals and values as I see them. I have ideals and values that are not supported by the republican party, and I have ones that are. I have ideals and values that are more represented by the Republican party than the democratic party, but I also can at least listen to the angle of the democrat party when I disagree. I don't believe their opinions are any more valid than republican opinions in many theaters. I think you need to view it from both angles and see both sides can be arguing from the same base but see the solution in different ways. Unless your opinion is truly preposterous hyperbole like abolish the police and overthrow the government. Then I have trouble seeing where you are even coming from.

It's a perfectly appropriate time. If there is a massive problem with the country as a whole, then protesting that problem during a symbol of that country (be it the flag or the anthem) is exactly when the protest has the most impact.
And, that is your opinion. People can find it disrespectful. Now, you can say but so and so military man or whatever didn't find it disrespectful! Cool! That is again their opinion. No one said every single person in the world has to find it disrespectful. Almost no issue in the world has 100% support. Others can find it disrespectful to protest specifically during the anthem to our flag.

Ugh, I feel like Damion or Sceptile looked worse.

I cant even say one lynch has more suspicious votes than the other.

Scumpost btw

Puns votes Lea.

Red - 6 - Lea, Han, Bolt, Ben, Chang, Plum
Lea - 4 - Scare, (Plum), IGCD, (Bolt), Abacus, Puns

At least 3 scum splintered at that point in sceptile, Damion, and red.

Scare is on Lea.

I don't want to lynch Lea, it's a potentially confirmable role. They said they were in a rush too so the flavor argument is really sketchy.

Now, remember. Lea didn't claim a power and Sceptile immediately went that Lea is confirmable.

Death was asking Lea if she thought to ask HB if she had a power or not actually.
