I can be making more on unemployment every week than what I make every two weeks as an essential worker. We were short-staffed to begin with and our hours are still getting cut and now we have more work to do with wiping down a lot of things.

Every day dealing with rude, impatient, & unprotected customers, many coming in for non-essentials putting themselves at risk, us at risk, & our families at risk. And were unable to enforce several things, like limiting the amount of people coming in or requiring face coverings for anyone entering.

But we were told to be grateful because we still have our jobs. To qualify for unemployment you cant be fired or quit. Also Im unsure how accessible it is right now with everyone trying to sign up for it.

And here I am, an "essential worker," busting my ass struggling to make $600 a week. And that's only because of rally pay. So once that's gone, it's back to $400 hard earned a week.
