Oh trust me, if they're rallying Bloodborne when it was already clearly winning, expect them to be back with friends for closer matches.

The Last of Us is actually the perfect target for DkS fans to rally against, it's the poster child for the 'cinematic AAA games' that they feel Dark Souls is diametrically opposed to.

I mean in fairness, they posted the rally thread at the beginning of the match. So it's not like they waited until it was up a large amount and then posted it to be up more. It's just the way that Reddit threads get upvoted that made it get traction when the match was already decided.

Personally I dislike rallies because they screw over the Oracle.

Worst part is I work somewhere that isn't even heavily affected. Florida doesn't look anywhere near as bad as other parts of the country. Only 10% of people tested are coming back postive and we have tested the second most in the country. (EDIT: Guess it's third most now as California has done more tests). We are at like 461 deaths which whilst shitty isn't anything close to places like NJ/NY and is fairly low on the deaths/population scale

What I'll get in unemployment / government assistance won't even cover half of my wage.

Officially furloughed due to COVID. I already wasn't a huge fan of how long this was projected to have strict lockdowns in place so certainly color me less impressed now.

Projected back to work June 1st but that's subject to change. A minimum of 7 weeks of unemployment/goverment assisted pay is going to cost me a fuckton compared to my normal wage. Not sure how they think it's an adequate replacement when it's nowhere close to covering the bills.

Could be worse, could be the Bills. Go check their injuries!

I just checked through the Top 5 picks and I got 3 Top 5's in the first 5 matches (including 3 in 4).

I then proceeded to only get 2 Top 5s in the other 63 matches including a streak of 35 matches without one.

Unless Horizon, RE and Bloodborne all start bleeding considerable amounts then Lefty is projected to put the hammer down and stretch out his lead by a decent chunk today.

I think you're misinterpreting the point of safeties.

People call them safety picks as they are a safety net if you forget to change your picks or something prevents you from posting. Contests have been won and lost on people not having safeties in place and then not getting their pick in before deadline (or having a safety in and then posting just after deadline). Lefty would possibly have another title to his name if he believed in safeties.

Anyway, the way to do well is to just be consistently solid. Don't chase outlier picks in an attempt to pick up points. If you're consistent you find yourself climbing. All my worst finishes (where I actually predicted every match) came off the back of chasing points with outliers.

Looks like Rocket league is going to pull away comfortably now. Piling up it's lead in a quick fashion. Would take something like a rally for DBZ to swing this back now but this is what looked like happening after last night anyway

Looking at the overnight votes, this could have been a great finish if Rocket League hadn't fought back and turned those cuts into stalls. Would have still won but maybe we would be looking at a gap of around 100 or less before the morning kicked in and Rocket League pulled away

This is basically my problem with it too. It's a bait and switch. If they had said from the get go it was drastically different then I'd have been pissed that I wasn't getting what I wanted but eventually been fine with it. Now it just feels worse because they have gotten our hopes up by presenting it as faithful to the original before pulling the rug out from underneath us at the very last second.

And they have done it on purpose because they knew they would have faced a ton of backlash if they had told us all along

Some people just aren't going to view it as serious as others, they don't view it as being as dangerous as it is being made out. It's that simple. My future in-laws are the opposite end of the spectrum.

She had a phone call with her mother a few hours ago where she told us that it's going to get really bad over the next 2 weeks and it's extremely critical we go stock up on everything right now and not to leave the house for anything whatsoever for 2 weeks. No shopping, no exercise, no work. Like she was deadly serious that we do not leave the house at all for any reason.

Like I'm obeying the stay at home. I'm only leaving the house for work, exercise / walk the dog and to grab supplies. Some of the things I've grabbed are admittedly not essential (Liqour store and some things for the garden since I need something to do around the house) but I'm also not taking the piss and going out to store all the time or visiting people. I also avoid people when walking and in stores/etc.

Peak daily deaths at 2,600 something doesn't seem realistic at this point, at current rate daily death count could reach 2,600 two days from now. What I suspect could also happen is that this could become a wave model rather than a hill model with a ripple effect rippling from NY to other states since there's no restrictions on traveling between states. So in this model daily death would peak at around 10,000 for the first wave and then perhaps 100,000 for the second wave and so on. The reason why the second wave is larger is because its wider area of coverage due to larger size of the ripple. Like for April 4th it projected 1360 but the range could have been anywhere between 1133 and 1555. The actual number for yesterday seems to have been 1331

Also, I am pretty sure I will still have the saved webpage for every prediction if it's easier for you to just use a script to scrape those saved pages. It being a three way and nobody knowing how to fix the scripts was why we didn't do it that way before

From what I remember, adding it to the database wasn't the issue otherwise I'd have done that all contest rather than use spreadsheets. It was something about it being a 3 way contest that was the issue and nobody knew how to fix it.

If it's a case of just adding match results to the database, I can certainly help assuming the passwords are still the same as they were last time I logged in.

Yeah I took Nioh without a second thought but my bracket was a rushjob and other than the odd great pick like that, the rest is a smoldering trainwreck with shit like Xcom > Cuphead and Fortnite > Horizon.

I took Nioh in my bracket without a second thought (my bracket is trash though lol). I only went with Isaac here because everyone else was doing it and I didn't want to risk getting absolutely pummeled if I was wrong. So hoping Isaac swings this now.

EDIT: So far it seems every change I made backfired. I put Fallout higher, Dark Souls lower, God of War higher and switched winners on Nioh / Isaac. I'm sure it will change since it's so early but so far my changes for this match are a negative 17.5 points which is the worst possible it could be from the changes
