It feels almost endlessly layered with some of the most complex & thoughtful themes that continuously reveal themselves and change your perception of everything on each subsequent route. It also gives the player so much agency over their own story at the same time; you can go full Monty and see every ending the game has to offer, or stop at any one for an ending that satisfies you. It's so rare not only to see a game structured like this but to pull it off so spectacularly as well. And that's coupled with a melding of gameplay genres anchored by the highly entertaining and surprisingly in-depth combat Platinum is typically known for. --- It was Raccoon City's last chance and my last chance... However, GTA5 is one of the most impressive games I've ever played. I play it all the time and could probably count the amount of glitches or bugs I've seen on one hand. It's just crazy-polished. It also strikes a great balance between realism and wacky GTA goof-off crap, and I think that makes the game even more fun and that much more hilarious too. I really enjoyed the story and beat it twice, which is extremely rare for what is such a long game for me. --- It was Raccoon City's last chance and my last chance... I really like the stories in that game to be perfectly honest and the games' action features are terrific and really push what a TPS can be and I'm still floored to this day how more features from it haven't become commonplace in other games. I think maybe just reading the miniseries isn't totally the best way to fully experience the whole event since I just really loved the build-up, and one-shots & spin-offs and follow-ups to it as well so it might just be more of a context thing. The Sandman in this series is Daniel Hall, the successor to Morpheus, the original Dream.
