Whether it is foods cooked or prepared a certain way, or returning items that did not work to expectations. That being said, if the customer is being unreasonable, places can refuse service or ask them to go elsewhere. Goes both ways. --- Vaseline... You know what I mean. |

| CraziestCal 06/09/19 8:14:45 PM #1 | I have only been to NYC 3 times. All 3 have been similar with visiting friends and doing touristy activities. I have enjoyed all trips and will go back again. But one thing was different this time - waiter service. I was told once I got back how minimum wage had increased at the start of the year and that may be the reason. The service was not 'bad'. It just seemed basic, like where I am from, when previously everyone would try and be sociable, chatty and had more smiles on their face (even if they were fake ones). Now I support the wage increase. In my mind, tips are for extra work, but you should not need them just to make ends meet. Reading about the increase, it seems like some people have to work harder or just don't care. Wanted to ask locals: do you feel like there has been an overall change in service? Is it such a bad thing? --- Vaseline... You know what I mean. |
