And then get told "they haven't got the funds for the European office yet but they're definitely doing good maybe it's possible you can move t here when they open the office"

Or they could just offer the job as a remote opportunity.
But that would make too much sense...

Exactly. Just tell her you think she's interesting and you'd like to have dinner sometime. If she says no then say have a nice day then move on. It's only awkward if you make it awkward.

Alternative plan: You draw her dressed as Jubilee and show her. If she's into it then she's the one. If she thinks it's weird then tell her she looks like a whore when she wears yellow.

Isn't really an excuse though. The responsibilities of being a husband are just as important as the ones he has at work. Yeah that might make it sound like being a husband is a job and it sorta is. You work really hard and prove yourself to your SO. That's just how it is. The more you put in the effort, the easier it becomes.

I hadn't really been considering those, but I'll take a look. I mostly work with a traditional on-prem stack of windows server, vmware, etc and haven't done much cloud. Maybe I'll love it

You're in the same boat I am. I manage our VMware/Storage environments at our datacenter along with about 30 Windows SQL VMs only because our SRE team hates Windows. Our SRE team has half their infrastructure on-prem in vSphere and the other half in AWS. Our CorpIT team has all of their servers in Azure.

You need to consider it though since most companies are moving to some sort of cloud presence for the majority of their environment. It's where the industry has been heading for the last few years. I'm currently watching an AWS Essentials training course over at Linux Academy. Create a free account and you'll have access to this same course. Gives you a solid foundation and overview of setting up an AWS environment. You'll need to pay the monthly sub for the training courses related to certs though.

We do have a ticket system. We have a 15% adoption rate. Nobody wants to use it because we are understaffed and deal with phone calls/walk ins since we aren't allowed to tell them to submit a ticket. We can't have input on our own policies because reasons. its a shitshow but i get paid. when the CFO gets CCed in he just says "treat this as critical" no matter how much of a time waste it is or if there is actual work to be done

Damn. That sounds like the problem at my friend's company. Yeah it sounds like your boss has no idea why a ticket system is implemented to begin with. Need it to track break fix trends.

Anyway, you should update your resume on the job search sites and find somewhere better to work.

I have been looking but there's no jobs in my area I would want to do. There's a whole bunch of project management which I'm not keen on (i prefer hands on actually doing the work), networking which I'm no good at (I'm more of a sysadmin/software dev), and helpdesk (nope)

Learn stuff in the cloud space(AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Then you can DevOps to your hearts content in a work from home job with a massive salary.
