Can you save Lightning 10x in the finals? Don't forget that swordz wants to support Squall but he can't do it if Lightning doesn't win! Just, how would FFDragon want me to phrase this... "close your eyes and think of England" each time you save her?

I'll do it anyways but not sure what you mean by compatibility stats. Finding the user your rankings closest align to? Or how your ranks lined up with actual results?

Mmmm you got me there! I was definitely too eagre to jump in with the Ghost Island comparison, burke (and the Probst interview) would certainly be right, the odd-numbered jury sorts it out among themselves.

Well in this case I won't be wrong... it seems clear that the "2" jury voters would revote for one of the Xs, as would the player who received the "2" (the Laurel in this situation) also becomes a jury member and votes for one of the X's. So we have an odd number jury and a guaranteed winner.

Now I remember when we had 9 person juries and I always dreamed about the nightmare 3-3-3. No getting out of that one.

I'm not sure it's realistic to believe that anyone could respond within 10 or 15 seconds every day on a round time that's not announced and has a variance of roughly 6-7 hours. The level of dedication you'd need for that to happen is astounding and staggering to think of as plausible to me.

Again, I can't speak for anyone else, but my routine for the better part of the past two months has been: wake up, gym, shower, computer. Not like I'm staring at Gamefaqs all the time, but it's off on the side while I've been reading, writing or watching something. New round easily catches my eye and I'm in.

In my case, I'm on a leave from work. Not medical or anything, it's a long story I'll probably post about some day, but it gave me the free time at home with an auto refresher like Chris, on a 2nd screen while I work on my first.

And usually I'd just try to get in early when H4 was a possibility, and then I made a game out of whether I could beat lefty to the punch or not. Then I realized he never saves until at least one other person has saved. Then I just kept saving as early as possible for the hell of it.

I don't have faith in myself so I didn't think it was good propaganda. It was just how I felt, and felt more passionately about for an online Save-My than I ever should, and ideally never will again. I didn't think it had any real impact. A lot of people are sitting out the finals, after all.

Well, for two years in a row now, the XIII backers controlled the show. First getting Fang of all people to a championship, and now Lightning. I have heard that this will cause a slight decline for Lightning, but honestly, it's not guaranteed. They have the numbers. If the XIII gang wanted a repeat Lightning championship, the rest of us might not be able to stop it. It's their show for the moment, unless they truly do disband.

There is no XIII gang. It was literally swordz carrying her all along, with his partnership with Chris and the occasional secondary/tertiary saves. We got lucky with certain character eliminations along the way. She was seriously heading for elimination until Robazoid returned.

There being no XIII gang is proven by looking at how every other XIII character did. If Lightning wins, the core of swordz moves on & Chris already has. Secondary picksup of myself and Roba move on. Who mains Light next year? Either a brand new user, or an existing user who decides to main her despite the fact she just got a win? Where's the secondary support? I just don't see it.

I remember how much I hated last year's final after Kefka was eliminated and I'm on the opposite side of it this time. It did come down to seconds in H2, I noticed all the Edward savers were earliest in the first hour so figured he would pull it out, but it really could've gone either way.

I don't know what to say and anything I say probably won't help. I've already said how strongly I feel about Lightning winning to correct what happened last year and I just hope others can empathize with that. This should be a feel-good story, whether it's about last year or her past contest close calls, of always making runs but never quite making it, that this can be her one moment in the sun. If she wins this time it would be a feel-good story and we can all partake in that.

And then swordz will be able to move on, and she won't make deep contest runs anymore. I know I can't appeal to the haters but I'm still extending the hand of friendship, to vote for her in this one and final circumstance so the contest will be divested of her in future years.

I hope we can bring this home for swordz most of all, and we'd appreciate any support in the finals.

(I also think she's a good character and genuinely like Lightning Returns which probably puts me in a tiny minority, but yeah...)

Ashe's hot pink miniskirt (does it even count as a miniskirt?) always felt like the most impractical clothing motif, especially with the setting of that game (not to mention her status as royalty...)

On the plus side I always had Ashe > Fran on butt ratings (though Fran > most other characters)

11 on the jury makes perfect sense though? We know what they do in 4-4-3 and 5-5-1 type situations so it works. Which is really exactly why he made the jury now rather than keeping it merge-only (and even-numbered).

I never did post my top 15 rankings, this is what they were at the time. A lot shifted since that point but in the spirit of honest transparency this is what it was after Yuffie's elimination.

Top of the non-Lightning, non-FF7 characters. Auron is a great character and any other year I'd support him in this situation, just like I'd have supported Kefka.

So yeah, I'd put 10 saves on Auron. I would hate it so much, that we couldn't put what happened last year to rest, that she couldn't get justice. It would always nag at me that we got so close to correcting it but couldn't. But I wouldn't spite-save Edward in the finals because of that.

I honestly don't believe Lightning will ever get this close again. A lot of luck was needed to get to this point, a lot of things going perfectly. Alliances, previous allies returning, me taking an obsessive interest. There were rounds she was seconds from elimination. She has more people ready to anti-vote her than anyone else who made the top 10, maybe the whole contest (outside of the BD characters).

I just hope we can bring it home, especially for swordz.

I'm more bothered by the fact the tribe intros at the immunity challenge didn't have the usual "so and so voted out at the last tribal council" blurb + reaction from those on the other tribe.

Like whoever got voted out in a 4-4 situation should've prompted some reactions. Is this another one of those cases where there was a reward challenge filmed but not shown?

Despite the snideness and insufferability, you can definitely campaign on that argument next year, sure. If you show up in the first 90 rounds or so.

If I wasn't dedicated to my dreams of (FF7) Remake Boost next year I'd probably be on board with that. Kefka is a character that I'd like to see win, after last year and this year. And when all my favs are eliminated I would support either him or Seymour next year, definitely.
