UCF only being 17th makes a mockery of the rankings. There is no way the majority of the 16 teams above them have looked better than them based off what we have seen so far.

Well it only took 1 week for the league I'm in with a couple coworkers to turn into a joke.

This Vikings fan traded away David Johnson and Michael Thomas for Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen.

Guess I don't have to try too hard in that one now!

Kelce owner in mine dropped Hockenson for... Jason Witten (And I only have #3 waiver priority argh)

This guy is supposedly pretty knowledgeable about football, too!

(Somebody else picked up Gronkowski, but that surprises me less)

Someone in my 16 man league dropped Mike Evans. I mean ok you can lose faith in him but in a 16 man league? Jeeze. Also worth pointing out we don't have a TE spot either it's WR/TE so WRs are at a premium since you play 3 or 4 most weeks

I quickly grabbed him on waivers and was surprised I didn't get beaten out. Played him in the WR/TE spot for last nights game

That's like half the tackles I expected for the season already. I'm guessing the version of Madden you play does not treat CB stats the same as the one that KCF uses

Looks like all the QBs did decently and so did the WRs. Guessing the HBs are relief players.

There is a massive difference between living in a large area like Tampa or Orlando and living in some small Florida town.

I've lived in Orlando for 7 years now. I also frequently travel around the country for work and Orlando is a hell of a lot better than the vast majority of places I go to. That being said with Tampa it entirely depends on where in Tampa. There's nice areas of Tampa and there are very s***ty areas of Tampa.

Detroit is a hard pass for me. Sacramento I've only been to a few times but wasn't a fan (granted I am not a fan of San Francisco either)

Sorry no Florida sucks it's completely miserable 10 months of the year.

Sacramento is easy. You can live in the hills and get a little relief from the rotten summers, while the other 8 months are ideal. Having nearby access to some of the great geographic features of the country makes it all worth it imo.

I don't understand why people complain about the weather so much which I assume your 10 month comment is about. Give me the heat over the cold any day of the week. I get the feeling my tolerance for heat is a lot higher than most as it doesn't really bother me that much

I think bashing on Liv Morgan for her gimmick isn't really fair. It's hard to have much of a gimmick when your schtick is to be part of a 3 character group and that group has no time given to them for characterization whatsoever.

Like I mean she's not a particularly good wrestler but I feel like if she was given a singles run and packaged with a gimmick of some sort and given promo time she might be able to pull something off? Like it's just weird to really give any of the Riott squad any heat for that kinda stuff.

You misunderstand me.

I'm not really giving HER crap for her gimmick, specifically. I fully acknowledge they were never given the time to develop.

I'm just saying there was nothing particularly interesting about her, whoever's fault that was, so it came off weird to me to be hyped about Liv Morgan's character of all people.

Like, all she did was stick out her tongue. And that's not necessarily her fault, since like you said, they never had time. I just find it odd to be like "She was the best part of the Riott Squad" as some kind of praise when they didn't ever really do anything, so it's not exactly a high bar.

I mean I'm fairly certain her being 'the best part of the Riott Squad' boiled down to 2 things and neither are actually wrestling related.

1. She was by far the most attractive of the 3
2. She was the one whose look stood out the most (depending how you viewed Ruby's look)

Despite Ruby being the leader, it seemed that Liv and Sarah got more screentime as Ruby seemed to just be missing a lot and Liv/Sarah would be the representative in singles/tag matches.

NFC Seeding

Playoff Teams
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. St. Louis Rams
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
5. Washington Redskins
6. San Francisco 49ers

Wildcard Contenders
7. Las Vegas Pumpkins
8. Anaheim Lightning
9. Seattle Seahawks
10. Carolina Panthers
11. Green Bay Packers
12. New York Giants

The 49ers situation is similar to the Jags situation to me. I think they have a slightly more favorable schedule than the other teams. Redskins and Pumpkins are likely better teams but I think at the end of the day, the grind of the NFC East plus matching up against the AFC North means that 3 teams from that division will struggle to make the playoffs, one of them has to miss out. I went with the Pumpkins missing out based on the schedule (They get the Rams and Bucs compared to the Redskins getting the Falcons and Wildcats.

The 49ers meanwhile avoid Cowboys/Redskins/Pumpkins (not saying Giants are a pushover by any means!), they avoid the Vikings and they get the Bucs at home. They do get the hellish AFC East but if you write off the Dolphins game as a loss regardless of home/road (it's on the road), they get Jets during their injury situation at home, they get Pats at home and they get Bills on the road. So they could still go 2-2 or 3-1 from that.

AFC Seeding

3. Columbus Pioneers
4. Baltimore Ravens
5. Jacksonville Jaguars
6. Indianapolis Colts

Wildcard Contenders
7. Washington Hawks
8. Oakland Raiders
9. New York Jets
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
11. Mexico City Browns

I think I'm higher on the Jags than KCF mainly for one reason. They seem to have a pretty favorable schedule. They get they Raiders, Hawks, Vikings at home. They avoid the Dolphins + Ravens. Broncos on the road is their only out of division game against a projected playoff team on the road.

Compare it against the other wildcard contenders.

Colts - Ravens on the road, Broncos on the road, do not avoid the Dolphins. They do get the Raiders, Hawks and Vikings at home at least.

Hawks - Jags on the road, Colts on the road, Bucs on the road. They do avoid some big name in conference out of division games though (No Ravens/Steelers, no Dolphins/Jets)

Raiders - Dolphins on the road, Colts on the road, Jags on the road, Bucs on the road. They also get the Ravens and Pioneers on their schedule

Steelers - Broncos on the road, Cowboys on the road, Dolphins on the road. Also get Pioneers, Pumpkins, Jets, Redskins on their schedule. Did not remain healthy.

Jets - Steelers on the road, Pioneers on the road, Seahawks on the road. Also get the Rams, Broncos and Ravens on their schedule and have to play the Dolphins twice. Didn't remain healthy. Basically as tough a schedule as the Steelers.

Hurricane prep distracted me a bit from this.

I think I pretty much agree with all your predictions including my own. I think I'll be lucky to get 8 wins. I think I'd take 8 wins and some decent development from my last 2 draft classes (which seems unlikely but whatever!)

I think the plus point is that we have a lot of divisions where things should be fairly even. AFC North should be competitive. AFC South should be competitive amongst those top 3 spots. I think all the NFC divisions have the potential to be competitive and even in the East with the Cowboys, the rest of the 4 pack are good enough that there's at least the potential for someone to spring forward. Vikings are probably the bigest favorite to take their division I guess.

Let's see I'll do predictions in a new post

I'll probably be off work until Thursday given how slow the hurricane is moving. Haven't boarded up my windows yet but may not bother with it. It's always kinda surreal before the hurricane arrives because it just looks like a normal day and people are just going about their normal business right now.

Stellar pre-season for me

Best offensive playmaker? Injured
Best o-lineman from last season? Injured
Player progressions? Zero
Player regression? Multiple

Schedule? Well out of division I have...
Cowboys on the road
Dolphins on the road
Broncos (on the road I think?)
Plus 5 of final 6 games on the road and a hard start (Jets, @ Broncos, @Ravens)

The only silver lining I can grasp at is that my first 3 opponents all have decimated O-lines due to retirements/injuries and 2 have inexperienced QBs so hopefully my defense can capitilize. On the flipside though, I also have a weakened O-line (and offense) so those first few games will likely be low scoring wars of attrition

I do not anticipate this being another 10 win season (unless the middle of my schedule is incredibly soft). Could be a 7-8 win season on the cards

If I may throw out a suggestion, there's two good starting points if you dont start now.

Starting with the NCAA tournaments in March gives you roughly this schedule

NCAAM and W
Baseball
Premier League
Football
Hockey
Basketball
NCAAF

throw in random pick ems throughout

Which ends with the NBA season roughly in April, so you're on a 13 month cycle

This gives a good starting point with a bracket that is easy to fill out, and then having baseball for the summer with various UFC events gives you a nice slow start that starts ramping up August-October draft wise, and lets you end with NBA and NHL so that two big sports helps determine the winner

Alternatively, start with the baseball draft at the end of March and save the NCAA brackets for the back end, so you have a frantic finish that could drastically change the winner

My two cents would be that you start small and add more in as required.

Like Premier League, NFL, Hockey and Basketball all run at the same time. Can people even juggle 4 leagues at the same time? At least NFL is only like 1-2 times a week tinkering. Premier League is similar. Basketball though? I've only done daily fantasy with Basketball, I assume a full fantasy schedule with basketball requires a lot more attention.

Actually maybe that's a compromise. Instead of doing full fantasy drafts for the full season. Maybe you have a set slate of daily fantasy matches instead with points awarded for position each week (10 > 9 > 8 > 7 > etc). That would mean you could add in or reduce number of games as required if people felt there was too many or too few. There would also be the added bonus of people not being completely fucked by a bad draft or injury. If people missed a week it wouldn't be too devastating either and you could kinda replace people mid season if you had to.

Like maybe week 1 you go we are doing:

Sat games - Premier League
Sunday games - NFL
Wednesday game - Basketball

Or maybe you don't do each sport each week. Maybe you say this week it's Soccer + Football. Next week it's Basketball + Hockey. Third week its Football + Basketball. Etc.
