Again Seymour, the main villain who wants to kill everyone is thrilled that you did it.

It seems irrational for Yunalesca to want to fight them and it seems irrational for Yuna and co to kill her (and send her) instead of just walking off.

Do they even realize that the only reason they can kill Yu Yevon is because of Yunalesca turning Jecht into Sin? That's not lost on them right?

If they fuck up Yunalesca is still helpful.

Say Sin bitchslaps the Airship into Luca. Everyone dies.

Then maybe Dona's Final Aeon defeats Sin.

Then maybe Pacce breaks the cycle 10 years from now by offering Sin some steroids or something to humanize him and then kills Yu Yevon.

IT's contrived and poorly thought out is my point. I don't get the motivations for all 8 characters involved (Except mayyyybe Auron) and the fact you're greatly helping the main villain while risking the entire planet for no benefit says it all frankly.

She's like

"Here let me kill one of ya and give ya a final aeon"

And they're like "no thx lol"

And so she's like "Well then I'mma gonna kill you for some reason."

And they're like "I dun wanna fight you but I'd feel bad if I ran away so let's fight."

I don't get it. Why does Yunalesca want to kill you? She says something about not wanting you to live in pain/misery and so killing you is a mercy. But you'd think by the time you got 3 guys triple teaming her she'd re-evaluate caring about that.

Yes if a horse breaks its legs it's a mercy to put it down but I think you would give up if you tied to do that and 7 horses started kicking the crap out of you.

I don't get why she cares.

And why don't Yuna and co run away. Except Kimarhi they're not violent and Lulu flat out tells Wakka that he can and Wakka is like "Nah I couldn't live with myself unless I killed this old lady."

Even Seymour (The Main Villain) is like "Man thanks for killing Yunalesca for me. That really helps my evil plan immensely."

And putting it another way, what happens now if Yuna fails? BFA kicks their ass or the airship crashed into the Moonflow by mistake when heading to sin.

Now no one gets a Final Aeon.

Dona completed her pilgrammage (potentially) If you failed she would be like the second line of defense for Spira.

Sure the cycle is bad but the cycle is literally better than extiniction.

And it can't be because Yunalesca is scared you'd rat out the truth. She wasn't scared that Auron or any other survivor guardian would do that. She wasn't scared that Yevon knew the truth.

It just felt contrived as hell.

Imagine thinking Thor was poorly written.

He really really was across the whole MCU

Just look at his character arc:

So he's a 1,500 year old God who is oafish and craves war + ale.

Comes to Earth, has a punch up, is humbled, falls in love with a female human, stops craving war and tempers his violent rage with maturity.

Then he comes back to Earth , has another punch up, insults the humans for being tiny and petty despite bringing the fight to their planet twice.

Then he takes Loki and the Stone for " safe keeping " on Asgard but ultimately losses both

Then Loki takes over Asgard and it seems to prosper. Thor stops him. His sister turns up and kicks his ass + breaks his hammer

Helpless powerless Thor is then humbled again as he tries to save his home. Only to learn that the power was in him the whole time and he never needed the hammer.

Also that home is people, not places so he sacrifices Asgard to save the people

Then Thanos immediately turns up and kills half his people. Thor decides he is powerless until he gets a new hammer. (wut)

Thor gets a new hammer but is having emotional problems dealing with loss and failure

Thor attacks and defeats Thanos but doesn't go for the head for some reason so Thanos wins anyway.

Thor becomes fat and depressed, is convinced to help but just gets in the way. His mom tells him to stop trying to be a leader... which he wasn't doing anyway.... But he always wanted to be one for 1500 years.

Then Thor gets hid hammer back so now with 2 weapons is more powerful than ever despite the power being within him not the hammer

Thor asks to use the gauntlet and they tell him to fuck off.

Then fat Thor does nothing while Iron Man saves the universe

Then he abandons his people/Jane leaving them to be run by a former slaver who is completely out of touch with their society and goes off with Rocket Raccoon bumming around in space...

What the hell kind of character progression is that?

Sure you take random scenes and praise small details but taken as a whole, it's one of the worst character arcs in all of cinema history. It's all over the place and inconsistent. Nothing he does previously is reflected in his development and flat out contradicts it

Thor is supposed to be around 1500 year old in Infinity War, which at best takes place 10 years after the first Thor. Even accounting for him rounding up when talking to Rocket, he had to have been at least 1400 years old in the first movie when his dad took his powers and abandoned him on Earth. Fat Thor was going to ultimately win after getting his ass kicked (Probably due to an assist from Rocket) when he discovered he was still worthy to lift Mjlnir.

This was scrapped because they completely overhauled the entire Time Heist segment and they thought Cap vs Cap in New York already accomplished the same idea except better..

Which is true but also a shame.

On your way back you make sure no one is looking then work up an enormous glob of saliva and spit in one of the coffees, you decide to double down and spit in it a second time. Then you bend the corner of the coffee lid slightly to mark it for Ace.

"Ha! This'll show him." you say aloud getting a quizical look from a passerby.

As you re-enter the lab you suddenly feel a tremor in the ground accompanied by a loud bang. You struggle not to drop all the coffee as you shake. Then as quickly as it came, it stopped "What the hell was that?" You shout.

"I guess it was one of Dr Schreiber's experiments..." Ms Holloway's warm voice made you jump as you didn't see she had walked next to you. "But he's usually so good at not causing a disturbance. I wonder what happened. I wouldn't worry about it sweetheart."

She's so short and can be so quiet when she wants to be. She also casually took one of the coffees while you were distracted by the tremor.

You then realize to your horror that she has unwittingly grabbed the coffee intended for Ace while you were distacted and is about to take a drink.

Do you:

A) Quickly snatch it from her hand
B) Say something clever to convince her to give it back
C) Tell her that you spit in that one.
D) Just let her drink it.

Rumor has it he is only here and not a NASA astronaut because he failed every psych test he has ever taken. He has to be at least in his late 20s if not older but damned if he looks a day over 22.

And the only man who has ever successfully been able to use Dr Schreiber's equipment. Well since you have worked there anyway, a laundry list of candidates have tried but only Ace has managed to use his most advanced devices.

An accolade that to your mind seems to have granted him the right to act like a jock out of a high school drama inside a damn laboratory setting without consequence.

"HEY! Coffee Guy! I'm talking to you!" He repeats

"Don't worry about him sweetie." Ms Holloway says reassuringly "Right now he is needed so he thinks he can do whatever he wants. But men like him never realize how expendable they really are until it's too late. Coffee does sound a good idea though. If you're not feeling up to it you can go ahead and I'll get it for everyone."

Yes.

I really liked that one although I screwed up massively in my weird desire to put in every single MK character into it. So the story got a little bonkers at times to include them. Should have stopped myself

When I was writing that one I wasnt exactly in the best headspace. I wasnt anywhere near suicidal or anything, but writing about a depressed character trying to justify his own suicide wasnt exactly healthy for me at the time. I would like to give that one a proper ending though. Im in a much better place now and I had some good ideas on where the story could go. If I end up reviving it, itll probably be on the Aerial Assault board where I can have a lot more time between updates, instead of having to fill the topic with constant bumps so it doesnt purge.

I had a similar problem once. I had a CYOA called something like "You are a criminal Dog, out for revenge" and it was a comedy one obviously.

It actually started quite strong but I was depressed at the time and only getting worse. Finding it it near impossible to write anything.

Some users kept it bumped for like 2/3 months with like 1 or 2 updates from me in it.

I felt so bad....

Your alarm blares as you lie in bed. Already wide awake due to the overwhelming smell of burnt sausages and the accompanying loud explevatives of frustration from one of your housemates downstairs.

You sigh and quietly whisper a happy birthday to yourself. Knowing that no one else will care, this morning somehow seems like a fitting welcome to adulthood.

This started out as a foreign exchange project, with work in the State of the Art Schreiber Laboratory intended to be a temporary learning experience. And yet you somehow got offered to stay on as a Lab assistant, even getting paid. You guess Dr Schreiber must have seen something in you but you can't think what it was.

After 3 years America seems just as much like home as Croatia ever did. Even if those 3 years felt constantly like being the least intelligent and least useful person the room most of the time.

You force yourself to get out of bed, get your uniform ready and take a quick shower, still worrying irrationally at every turn that you will lose track of time and be late despite the fact you never have been in 3 years.

You look at your reflection in the mirror, seeing yourself as an adult for the first time. You wink at it and it responds in kind, setting your mind at rest.
