Surprisingly, I actually have a TON of catching up to do with the series. The only one I have played in its entirety is Chain of Memories. Looks like 2020 will be the year of Kingdom Hearts for me.

1-5 is also one of the least-intuitive cases as far as what to do/where to go next goes. There were several spots where I was banging my head against the wall von Karma style wondering what the hell I needed to do to make the game progress.

Oh I agree. This was like, Attack of the Clones-level delivery and it was kinda worth a chuckle.

As for his death, months ago I made a list of life/death predictions that turned out to be fairly accurate and I predicted that Hux would be "killed off unceremoniously."

Saw it tonight. Some pretty great stuff. Not as good as Force Awakens but they really kinda wrapped everything up nicely.

When Lando first showed up, before he revealed his face, I turned to my friend and whispered "That's totally Lando."

Hux being the mole took me by surprise and actually I don't really think it was ever explained why he "needed Kylo Ren to lose."

I didn't even hesitate to sacrifice her. It just felt like the perfect ending to her arc, and it really just seemed like that was the point of the whole adventure - that if Max had just left well everything alone in the beginning, other than Chloe dying, everything was going to turn out the way it was supposed to. Nathan gets arrested, implicates Jefferson, Rachel's body is found, Kate is vindicated and doesn't attempt suicide, even Frank realizes his responsibility in what happened and still gets to have his "moment."

Gumshoe is a top 5 character in the series. But yeah he's kinda rough early on, especially in 1-2. Even once he gets good, there's one case that he's unbearable in. It happens to be my least-favorite case in the franchise and we'll talk all about that one when you get there.

Yep. Like I said, the legal system in this universe sucks. You can prove your client 100% innocent with no room for error and they are still not cleared until you catch the real killer. Makes for great drama but it does suck in theory, and this case is my go-to example.

I keep saying, there is a big difference between being a good, enjoyable character and being a likable person. Chloe is a fantastic character who is not a likable person. I'll refer you back to my example. If you knew someone exactly like her IRL, tragic past and all, would you enjoy being around her?

Just a heads up, Case 3s are generally filler. They are usually pretty lighthearted/cartoony, have fairly low stakes and little relevance/repercussions on the overall plot.

What Dan did wrong was continue to touch other people after they told him to stop. You see people cuddling and putting their arms around each other all the time on Survivor. Dan was getting too uncomfortable, was asked to stop, and didn't. And it required special intervention. So when something else happens later in the game, accident or not, they aren't going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Rebel Chloe is a person that I would not like to associate with. If we were co-workers, I might appreciate her putting down of stupid people and occasionally enjoy shittalking with her, but otherwise wouldn't want to go near her and wouldn't even friend her on FB. That's not a likable person.

If you really think Chloe is "likable" because she was a sweetheart until going through something traumatic, I think you need to reevaluate your definition of "likable." She's enjoyable as hell as a character, but, in the frame of the games, she is not a likable person.

I think most people really didn't like her after her early outburst about Max answering her phone in Ep. 2, so much so the writers added Chloe apologizing for that later.

As long as you save Kate. If you don't, it makes Chloe look even worse for reaming Max for answering a phone call from a suicidal person. She does show some sympathy to Max, but as a "sorry for your loss," not a "sorry for being a c***."
