Good, but not as good as it could've been. I liked it a good bit, but would've been pretty disappointed if I had been expecting a true, fullout, Persona/FE crossover awesomeness jamboree.

Also it plays and feels a lot more like Persona than FE so be ready for that too.

Mission difficulty is not what I had in mind. I am far more interested in:
- Gameplay mechanics/evolution from previous games
- Mission designs and structures (physical layout and depth of objectives)

+Tons more character customization
-Less depth outside of that (weapon triangle is essentially gone, for example)
-Level design I'd say is a bit weaker, and sometimes you fight on the same maps multiple times (although it isn't as bad as it sounds since starting spots vary)

(somewhat old RWBY spoilers)

In another world, Yang Xiao Long lay on her bed. The fight with Adam felt like a bad dream. She couldn't believe that she would never have......her arm? She snapped to full consciousness, and stared. Her arm.....was there! Like it had never happened. WAS it all a dream? Was this a dream now? Her sister walked into the room, and smiled broadly at her.

And with that little epilogue, I think we are officially done here! Like I said earlier, I intend to run this again sometime, although there will be some time before I'm ready and there's a good stretch of my schedule in which to do it. I welcome feedback for next time! How's my writing? How's my....gamemastering, I guess? The format? Anything you'd wanna do differently (or the same) next time around? I think I wanna overhaul the combat system a bit. I don't have concrete ideas yet, but I think it needs a bit more depth than it innately has, and it gets way too swingy. Too many one-hit kills in this run. >_>

The other thing is I guess it wouldn't hurt to link my google sheet. This is what I was using behind the scenes, so it's not specifically formatted to make sense to outsiders, but maybe y'all will at least enjoy looking at the "timeline" and all the character sheet things.

The one thread that y'all never really heard much about or got involved with was the Prospit City shenanigans. Basically:
-Rider summoned False Caster through his Mentorship skill- that and his Mad Enhancement turned her Spark into martial arts prowess instead of mad science.
-Violet of Rider developed a weird yandere thing for Erika of Archer, and captured her.
-Archer eventually rescued Erika by setting up that stampede of boars with help from the locals and a slight assist from Lancer, and then Erika had Archer kill Violet in cold blood.

Battle Angel Alita Vol. 1, chunk 3/3
Lots of interpersonal drama this time around, as Alita falls for a boy who has fallen in with the wrong crowd in a misguided attempt to earn his way to the flying city. This will not end well for the kid, based on what tiny bit of outside knowledge I have, but we don't get that far in this volume. They're doing a good job building to it though!
My rating: 8/10
Way more gore than I'm usually comfortable with, let alone actively seeking out, but somehow the artwork is pretty enough to keep me coming back anyway, and Alita herself is just always great.

The Bride Was A Boy
Gave me diabetes. Part autobiography, part edutainment, part romcom- follows a trans woman's life, transition, and relationship with her husband. It didn't really teach me much I didn't already know (except for how the Japanese legal system handles LGBT type things) but it's always nice hearing about an actual specific person's actual specific experiences and thoughts. And I'm always down for fluffy romance anyway, I think.
My rating: 9/10
Good if you want a primer on trans stuff or if you like chibis doing cute things.

Threebody: Beated! I kinda liked the proton unfolding bits and assume they will have relevance later, but for now it kinda feels like three chapters of "a space wizard did it." Curious to see where it goes from here, but I put in my next hold before realizing this was a series lol. Also I'll need to finally figure out how to do it on my phone because not even the other libraries have the rest in CD form! Or I could wait until I finish Les Mis in like 2021. Anyway this was good! Not my usual faire but I'm in to see how it shakes out.

Les Mis: This is the longest chase scene I have ever read, and I kinda like it actually.

FE: I figured we were due for some major plot beats, but the Tomb fight left me with more questions than answers. I'm certain there's more to the Edelgard turn than it seems, but there are a few things that could be going on, and all of them are very Fire Emblem-y. Also quite curious how this goes down on the other two routes. Also quite glad I decided to change courses from Mr. Anger Management to Ashe.

MLP 9-14- The Last Laugh: CHEESE SANDWICH EPISODE?!? CHEESE SANDWICH....depression? CHEESE SANDWICH SONG! A good dang time all around, especially since I had zero expectation of ever seeing Cheese again.

FE: Hi Kronya bye Kronya. Still getting very mixed messages as to whether Rhea's gonna turn heel on me. Don't much care for my new hair but I do like the new outfit and class.

Higurashi: "Frederica Bernkastel" sighted. I should remember whether that's the first time that name has shown up, but I don't. This Rika/Satoko parallel construction with the asking for help, though! Goooooood stuff, finished the whole ep. Lots of Christianity references coming out of nowhere, which I found interesting. And....there are all the answers! Some of it I got spoiled by Umineko, some of it I figured out, some of it I didn't. Am hyped up for Ep8. Tried several times to go back and get a bad end by ditching Satoko. Nothing will be coming in for this one since it and Ciconia both jumped the queue.

Archer has the terrain advantage, but you have a master with a ton of Command Seals. "This is the end!" cries Archer. She shoots an arrow....right through your chest.

That hurt like heck, but it's just an arrow. Between your Dust and reinforcement from Kirk, you'll live, but that's not a great way to start off the fight. Another shot grazes your arm before you can recover, and another narrowly misses. Enough of freakin' this.

Power flows through you, and your eyes glow. Archer doesn't appear to be petrified- you didn't really expect that part to work, but the good news is that you should be able to shrug off your wounds from before. Maybe she has some sort of ties to preservation. Y'know, you don't really care. You had some feelings for her, true, but she's been fighting dirty this whole time, and has done nothing to curtail her Master's descent into darkness. No more Ms. Nice Huntress. You close the distance with a single burst of your Semblance, and bring your scythe down right on her head.

You got her good, but Erika is able to save her Servant the same way Kirk did for you. That's definitely going to slow her down, though, and she doesn't strike you as being a great melee fighter. However, she is able to almost magically slip away, dashing backwards over the snow. Back to ranged fighting, but you're at least able to tag her with a shot.

Archer pulls herself together, and fires a single arrow to the heavens

A giant bolt of energy thunders down from the sky, with only your lightning reflexes avoiding disaster. The residual heat singes your leg a bit, but you essentially just dodged your opponent's trump card.

You zip in to deliver a killing strike....but she fires off her NP a second time! You swerve at the last second, dodging the strike a second time but failing to make contact. She tries to kick at you, but she's clearly exhausted from firing off her NP twice, and the blow has no power. A few more slices from your scythe....and it's over.

I can help you out a lil' with that one

You have a scythe that also functions as a sniper rifle, so you're competent at any range but probably a hair better in melee. Your main asset is your speed.

You don't have any great leads, but Prospit City does have medical staff. You call them in. They seem to be out of their league....but Kirk is tough. Overnight, he manages to completely shake it off!

The day of the showdown has come. You meet outside of the city walls as arranged. It has snowed overnight- it's stopped now, but it's still cold and there's a pretty heavy cover on the ground. Both of those factors are going to hamper your mobility, and it's pretty much certain that Erika used to weather manipulation to bring that up. She is already waiting for you, along with Archer.

This is probably the final battle- what's your gameplan?

1) Try to close to melee
2) Straight to the NP
3) Defend and feel her out
4) Sniper fight
5) Talk

-@Eddv and @eaedwards6400 may be brothers, but they are not particularly happy about being drawn together. They quibble in the back over who's gonna get in whose way. And then you've got the strained Eddv/Truth partnership playing into things as well....this should be an interesting one even without any surprise debuts!

(or at least avoid a title defense) This will be a fatal four-way. Mario starts with some chops to Sultan, and Bang kicks Bryan in the head. Sultan shrugs off the chops and chucks Mario out to the floor! He follows, but Mario pops the crowd by suplexing him off the apron! Bang chokes out Bryan in the confusion. Mario hits a crazy splash on Sultan from the apron! Mario stops to celebrate, but Bryan takes him out with a baseball slide! Bang gets Sultan in a chinlock after rolling him back in, but Sultan rolls over, squishing her and powering out. Bryan takes both out with a slingshot splash! And then Mario hits him with a Super Jump Punch! All four are down, but Bryan's up first, and suplexes Sultan. Mario clotheslines a woozy Bang. Sultan hits a series of forearm shots on Bryan. Bison comes out to help Bang....but Panth catches him on the apron, laying him out! He wants a clean tournament, and he's gonna see that happen no matter how many crappy adults he has to beat down! In the confusion, Sultan suplexes Bang all the way across the ring! They've gotta be mad about that one. Bang escapes to the outside to yell at Panth. Bryan rallies the fans and hits Sultan with a big running dropkick! Mario pummels Bang with a series of shots on the outside, but Bang drills him with a low blow, and Bison disentagles himself from Panth long enough to contribute a chair shot! Bryan hits a diving headbutt on Sultan. Bang slides in and tries to steal a pin while Bryan recovers...but Mario breaks the pin at 2.9! He kicks Bang, suplexes Bryan, and goes for a top rope Mushroom Stomp on Sultan....Sultan rolls away...but Mario turns it into a double jump, and hits the rebound! 1.....2.....3!

-Bowser is here, and welcomes Dario Cueto. They have a nice friendly chat about how much they both rock. Cueto knows that Bowser should be cleared soon, so at Lethal Lottery, he'll team with whoever's free in MLMF against @Panthera and Bryan in a hardcore match! Maybe those two will be in the finals, or maybe they'll have other stuff. It'll be a shame if they're too banged up to perform, in that case!

-Bryan reminds us that tonight kicks off the LETHAL LOTTERY tournament! Except for the match that was pre-announced, nobody knows who's booked for what! And we even have a buncha new guys coming in! We could even have....Derrick Bateman!

-@ScareChan is out first, and his tag partner is.....Konnan! He slaps some hands and yells some stuff on the way out. @Panthera enters for the opposite team, then the camera cuts backstage.

The established B8WL guys will start in the ring. Scare charges, but gets catapulted head-first into the turnbuckle! Panth is already firmly in control, but Konnan and Goldberg run in and start brawling. Senior official Reggie Kelly is barely able to keep the match under control, and Cena even manages a cheapshot. Tag to Goldberg, who comes in hot and beats on Scare for a bit before tagging back out. Scare struggles to his feet, but takes a basement dropkick from Panth. Panth goes for it again, but gets caught with Days Like This! Cena taunts Goldberg, who fails to reach for a Panth tag....but Panth makes it anyway! Spear, Jackhammer, forgettaboutit.
Winners: Goldberg and Panth

-Goldberg and Panth are celebrating in the ring....and out comes @XIII_rocks ! He knows that Goldberg is a force to be reckoned with....and that's why he's already recruited him into YMD! Goldberg puts on a YMD shirt and taunts the crowd. Just what kinda mega-stable is XIII trying to build?

-Rocky Balboa is here! He cuts a generic excited-to-be-here promo, but gets jumped from behind by Flair and XIII, his apparent opponents for tonight! Ludwig von Koopa trundles out to make a half-hearted save of his partner.

It's a bit awkward, since Flair was kicked out of YMD, and there are rumblings of a YMD/MLMF alliance. But for now, there's a match to do. Flair will start against Ludwig, as Rocky is still pretty messed up from the pre-match beatdown. Ludwig baits Flair into a test of strength, then kicks him in the gut, but Flair makes the tag out before it gets rough. XIII gets a dropkick for his trouble, and Ludwig decides to bring in Rocky. ....But Ludwig keeps attacking XIII! Ludwig drives XIII into the concrete floor....and XIII has to be helped to the back. It's a handicap match now! Flair cautiously works over Rocky, before whipping him into senior official Sam Calhoun! Flair pulls a roll of coins out of his tights, and slugs Rocky with them! There's one for Ludwig too! Ref is stirring....1......2.....3!
Winners: Flair and XIII

-Flair gets on the stick- Rocky is a real American hero....which is why he was too stupid to outsmart the Nature Boy! As for Ludwig, he and all his buddies will never have half the brains he does!

-The Bagged One (Baroque) is backstage. "Let me in.....let me in.....let me in...." LIV MORGAN appears and says that the bag look is really silly, but she's got a battle royal to go win, 'kay? @IhatethisCPU comes into the shot behind her! He and The Bagged One stare at each other for a while wordlessly.

-Liv Morgan skips to the ring for the battle royale, followed by a handful of B8WL regulars one at a time. The announcers remind us that one of these 8 people will earn their ticket to the semifinals....teaming with one of B8WL's titleholders, no less! The last entrant, though...

-WILDER CARD BATTLE ROYAL: Cena, @Strife2 , Iskandar, Liv, Zangief, Bison, @Korayashi , @Maniac64
Maniac kicks us off with a quick slam on Cena, but when he tries to lift Cena, Cena counters him into the STF! Maniac powers out and hits a clothesline. Zangief catches Liv Morgan with a big slam. Bison lowblows Iskandar. Kora and Strife are going at it hard, with Kora appearing to somehow come out on top of a brawl. He gets a bit too cocky, though, and Strife hits a massive powerslam as soon as he lets his guard down. Rozalin (Disgaea 2) is ringside in a Knights Radiant-branded gown, and gets into a shoving match with Nora Valkyrie (RWBY), who wants to see Strife break some peoples' legs! Kora gets the upper hand with a leaping strike. Cena gets a big pop with a vertabreaker on Maniac! Five-knuckle Shuffle! Cena throws Maniac over, but the King skins the cat. CPU wanders over to the announce table as if he was never gone, and informs us that Liv can and should kick the bear-man's ass. As he's saying that, Zangief has a decisive upper hand over his apparent client, but she manages to avoid elimination even with Maniac coming over to help. She's a tricksy one! Maniac gives up and goes over to help Bison, who has just hit Iskandar with a flying stomp. They can't eliminate him, either...but eventually the numbers game catches up with Isakndar, disappointingly.

Strife has started choking out Kora with the help of the ropes. Cena bonks Maniac and Kora's heads together, but the Knights retreat before he can do more. Zangief flings Liv over the top!

Kora eye gouges Strife to survive...then hits a massive Jawbreaker! Strife stumbles into the ropes, but keeps his footing and doesn't go over. The rumored Zangief/Bison alliance appears to have dissolved, as Zangief nearly eliminates the dictator with a Spinning Lariat. A fan tries to run in, but Scare is on the outside to intercept him...and Cena tosses out Maniac!

Kora manages to muscle Strife over the top! Foiled again...

1) Stick with Kirk to protect him from a potential attack

You can't really help with the poison, but what you can do is guard your Master, since this would be a really good place for a followup attack. You don't know whether it's due to your security or whether one just wasn't planned in the first place, but the followup never comes. The poison doesn't appear to be lethal, but it's definitely seriously hampering Kirk's mental faculties, and also inhibiting the flow of mana from him to you. In short, this is not a fatal problem for now, but you're going to be at a definite disadvantage for your big fight tomorrow if it doesn't get better....and it might get worse.

1) Rest up as much as you and Kirk can
2) Keep an extra tight watch on him while he tries to sleep it off
3) Go looking for somebody who can help Kirk
4) Go looking for an alternative source of mana:
-4a) Wario
-4b) all the food
-4c) Archer (with anything sufficiently steamy happening offscreen, because ages, man)
5) Go looking for Team Archer...
-5a) To reconnoiter
-5b) To call out Archer
-5c) To counterattack

hey mine's 17 too- I just always felt like it was kinda underappreciated and insignificant compared to all the other numbers up to 20ish

honorable mentions are 56 (from a seconds game years ago) and any power of 2 (for tournaments)

Three-Body: I was a bit concerned with how much I sympathized with the ETO, and then we got the husband murder backstory and I sympathized less. This Mike Evans guy sounds interesting though.

Aria 2-15- The Center of that Large Circle...: Flashback episode covering Alicia, Akira, and the Token Boys as kids. It's pretty fantastic. We end with rapid-fire cameos from a bunch of other secondary and minor characters because I guess this episode is about connections. Kinda cool. Kinda a last-episode vibe but we've got a season and a half to go still.

Archer is....special to you, but, well, if you could truly trust her (and especially her master), you would've teamed up with them by now. You give Kirk a sad shrug, and he relays orders to tighten up security between now and the showdown. Wario gets paid fairly for his efforts, and leaves peacefully.

The day wraps up with no particular sign of an assassination attempt.....until dinner. Kirk starts looking a bit flushed, and you actually start to feel a bit woozy as well. .....Poison?
