I am replaying all the souls games right now and am half way through the series. Demon's Souls is exactly as fun as I remember it being and DS1 is even moreso. The first Dark Souls is such a breeze of a game when you've beaten it a few times and it's the only one that honest to god feels like you're on some kind of quest due to the way the world is set up.

Right now I'm on DS2 and its exactly how I remember it for the most part. Really small, not-thought-through levels with way too many enemies, super easy bosses, and bad physics and hitboxes. Lots of cool weapon and armor though. Can't wait to get to Bloodborne next.

every witcher novel except for the two short story collections are sleep-inducing so hopefully they fix that once they get past where sword of destiny would have ended

Like as a baseline most people that want to start talking politics are not interested in an even or productive conversation, they're looking to rant about stuff at a basic surface level and with any luck form an echo chamber. in my experience when dealing with trump people irl these can either just faff around the usual "we need to build a wall" and talking about how trump is saving the country with tax cuts they dont get and jobs they would never apply for, or sometimes wanders off into directions like "when you think about it blacks were responsible for slavery" or talking about buying guns to protect themselves from immigrants (I live in an area of the country with such a small immigration rate that they would have been lucky to ever have seen even a single muslim as they were speaking of).

This is because this stuff is the core of the right wing populism that got Trump elected in a lot of states. It revolved around racial and morality politics. Sure, some people might be able to go into detail about how Trump made the even richer but most people like the idea of the guy more than anything he's done for them, because he hasn't done anything for most people. So they fall back in the nasty stuff.

And then the problem becomes once you hear people talking about how they think all this horrible shit, it drains your will to talk to them. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is; it's not "just politics," it really speaks to the core of who you are as a person when you say some things

They're the most boring movies imaginable with terrible incoherent plots and some of the worst dialogue in a movie of that scale that I can think of.

The Phantom Menace is a weird adventure movie that contains almost no adventure, and as a result feels like some sort of weird fun vacuum. Qui Gon is a bland, boring character that drones out dull lines, Anakin is an obnoxious kid, and Obi Wan does less in this movie than Jar Jar Binks does. There's nothing in this movie outside of the occasional flashy action scene to distract from the fact that you spent the 30+ minutes between each of them watching qui gon and obi wan wandering around green screens and bad sets with a wisecracking cartoon character

Attack of the Clones is a real nightmare of a movie. This is where the overwrought, terribly done dialogue really shines out of all the prequel movies. Obi Wan is slightly more likeable in this one and in its better moments sounds more like a Star Wars character than anything in the previous entry, but everyone else involved is intensely unlikable The jedi council all act like they're completely embarrassed to be on screen. Anakin went from annoying kid to emo teenager with nothing in between so you get no opportunity to feel sorry or emphathize with him, and he delivers some of the most wretched dialogue in the movie. Padme is like a shrill, helpless crash test dummy meanwhile with no personality except for "i must somehow fall in love with anakin while he cries." every scene they are in is written like something from a horrible television drama and neither of them sound like human beings, let alone convincing in their motivations.

Revenge of the Sith is better than Clones if for no other reason than people talk less than in the other two. It's basically greenscreens: the movie and every other scene is a unfollowable nonsensical action seqence but the spectacle of people doing three thousand flips and twirling laser swords while riding motorcycles is immensely more tolerant than anyone in these movies speaking. It's still really really awful though, everyone is still acting on the caliber of daytime soap opera people and the dramatic stuff is just as bad as AotC if not worse. People are way too nice to this one because Phantom and Clones were so utterly in your face atrocious, but I really think the badness level is a lot closer to them than people think and the miniscule amount of highlights in it only elevates it about a step

prequels fans are mainly people who grew up with those movies as "their" star wars and are absolutely seething at the fact that they are generally recognized to be bad

this is the story of the day where there was all the blood. a man was walking around and blood started coming out of him everywhere. there was so much blood that it filled up an elevator. he went to the store and there was just blood all over the place! people were slipping in it and they were all grossed out. he tried to go swimming and all of the sharks went nuts adn bittened everybody. he got chased by all the vampires ever. one time the blood got a kid and a dog. at the end of the day everyone decided they would send him to space so that he would stop getting blood everywhere. the scariest part is that the man was you!!! (or he was a lady if you are a lady) and you forgot that this happened.
