I kind of agree, even though it sounds harsh.

I've enjoyed a lot of marvel movies.

However, I can't remember the last time one posed an actual question, showed me something new, or gave me an insight about life. They just nail the tropes super solidly and then show you the door.

This sort of blockbuster movie has always existed. They just usually weren't hailed as the best film has to offer

They just make soooooooo much money it's difficult to justify making something from any other formula

Movies are goddamn entertainment first, anything else second.

Hollywood has been in a financial decline for years, they dont get to pick and choose what makes money.

The alternative is to abolish the studio system completely and make everything Independent films and/or direct to streaming.

Does anyone remember the Real ID controversy back in 2010? There was a brief attempt by Blizzard to force users to post under their real names on the Blizzard forums. This resulted in a massive backlash, complete with the account servers going down under the strain of people cancelling. Like now, the current President Mike Morhaime issued a lengthy statement in which he apologized and announced the cancellation of those plans. KH2 was definitely a large part starry eyed nostalgia that did not age very well. I wouldn't argue with many of its criticisms. But KH3 removes any last semblance of Disney world relevance, AND also stuffs 95% of all the cool Org stuff into the last 3 hours.

KH3 just reduceds everything to a very strict, functional formula, because it was the only way it was possibly going to finish the independently dangling plots of KH2, BBS, and DDD. And that really wouldn't be too bad, except it spent more than half the time just plodding along and setting up the next saga, which makes you feel like an absolutely sucker for giving it any time.

It's like if you went to watch Infinity War because you assumed it would be the end of a major saga, but then realized it was just the intro half of the actual saga. (I literally did that btw and I was so mad... but IW actually had a lot of better stuff than Endgame so it worked out.)

I mean, Infinity War wasnt 90% filler with everything important happening at the end. And Endgame came out one year later and actually did tie up the loose ends.
