Roger Ebert trashed like, every Godzilla movie he ever watched. I think hes a maniac for doing so, but I still respect his contribution to film review and didnt need him to agree with my opinion to enjoy Godzilla movies.

Audience scores can get under my skin, but thats because the audience reception is usually what determines if we see more movies like it. >_>

though honestly my assumption before TLJ was just that her parents were disciples of Luke who wanted to hide her from the Knights of Ren. >_>

in the last movie they reveal the 02 kids were chilling in stasis pods. Tri was a mess lol.

The Episode 3 game had a really janky, but really fun versus mode.

i cant remember if you could do it multiplayer, but bouncing around the Death Star arena with Darth Vader and ganking Obi Wan was super fun.

To be fair its not hard to come to TCs conclusion. Hes wrong, but hes not unjustified.

The answer is Christmas is marketable to a wide audience.

Im not Jewish, but as I understand it Hannukah is still steeped in cultural history that isnt widely applicable to people who arent Jewish.

Valentines Day works fine with existing love songs.

Halloween has no values other than eating candy and spooky stuff. Theres quite a few Halloween songs like Monster Mash but theres not too much you can do with it.

Thanksgiving is redundant since its marketed with a lot of the same generic values as Christmas is.

Several influential senators in the NR are covert members, there's rampant corruption and organized crime, the NR has no standing military, and "appeasement" seems to be the main policy of the current Supreme Chancellor

Honestly, from the sounds of it, this should have been the damn trilogy. It's got actual world-building and is even thematically relevant to current events. >_>

In TLJ he's leaving to go find Rey, which is all ever cared about in TFA. It's Rose who teaches Finn to believe in the Resistance

This is like arguing that the first half of Ghostbusters 2 is different from the original because "people claimed they were con artists and they had to win back the public's trust".

Yeah, the details are different, but it's the same damn arc. The Ghostbusters are a bunch of disrespected shlubs who put a business together, people are skeptical of them at first, but after a big bust they prove themselves and suddenly everyone loves them again.

Finn already learned to fight for something other than himself. Now it's just the Resistance instead of Rey. If you really need that difference to be spelled out for the audience, you could do it with a single line of dialogue that shows the connection between fighting for Rey and fighting for the Resistance as a whole.

The Last Jedi imo was a logical and reasonable continuation of the plot points and characters from The Force Awakens,

Kylo Ren in TFA: religious obssession with Vader. The Dark Side is his ideology in much the same way the light side is portrayed as Luke's ideology.

Kylo Ren in TLJ: gets made fun of one time and says "fuck Vader, fuck the past"

Youre falling for a red herring here, which undermines your argument.

Politics are not a personality, no. But your values are. And those values are what shape your politics.

Values are not so easily compartmentalized. They are the foundation for a persons decisions and actions. And a person with repugnant values will often show themselves repugnant in other ways.

Its one thing to maintain a surface level relationship with those people, because not every conflict of values needs to be fought. But its another to insist that friendships with those people are somehow intrinsically valuable and worth maintaining.

If you are capable of being friends with, hypothetically, a white supremacist, then more power to ya. But most people have nothing to gain by doing so, and lose nothing by avoiding them.

I cant get on board with this.

I wouldnt let it prevent me from being friendly, depending on the environment. But there are some people whose values are so repulsive that I could not in good conscious maintain a relationship with them.

I really dont care at all that others may feel the same way about me. If someone doesnt like me then, by all means, I hope they keep me out of their life.

There's no way this isn't touched up. His body is clearly facing away, his legs curl up while he is going up away from the building and down when he is going towards it. The chains also bend like he is going towards the building. But he is behind the bar when he should be in front.

Wow TC, that sounds crazy. And something similar happened to me, too.

So we got this new employee at the station a couple weeks ago named Amber. She's an idiot. That much is pretty clear within 5 minutes of speaking to her. But this weekend I learned just how stupid she really is.

If you go into the "CSR Functions" menu in our system, there is a button titled "View Amber" which opens a link to a website that tracks any active Amber Alerts in the area. I'm not sure if that's a thing outside the States, but if you haven't heard of it before an Amber Alert is a public alert message sent out whenever a child is reported missing with things like age/clothing/where and when they were last seen, etc.

Amber quit this weekend because she saw this button and now believes that the owner is stalking her and that this button, when pressed, shows him a video feed of wherever she happens to be at the time. She is absolutely convinced of this fact and her response when she was told what it actually did was "if it's for Amber Alerts it would have the word Alert on the button."

I mean.................wow. It may actually be the single stupidest thing I have ever personally witnessed in my life. And that's f***ing impressive, especially if you've seen a bunch of my stupid customer topics.

So can anyone beat that?
