The vast majority of TV weather people are just actors or journalists and have little or no actual training in meteorology. They get their forecast from a company such as AccuWeather and absolutely NO station has their own radar, all of it comes from the NWS network of WSR-88D radar units.

Of course they're going to exaggerate the situation, because that's what puts butts in seats. Nobody would tune in if the weather was boring. But if it's the Storm of the Century!!!, ratings go through the roof.

Actually, there's another possibility.

5. Solipsism. I can only prove that my own mind exists (cogito, ergo sum). None of you may actually exist except within my mind. The entire universe could just be a simulation, if you will, within my organic brain? computer? something else? "Death" may not actually exist, merely a reboot of my simulation.

I pee outside all the time. I live on a fairly big property out in the country, so it's a lot easier just to whiz on a tree than walk all the way back to the house.

I used to have a billy goat who would sniff at it and then flehmen. Goats are super weird.

A small amount of urine probably won't hurt the plants. Urine contains large amounts of nitrogen, moderate amounts of potassium, and small amounts of phosphorus, all of which are components of fertilizer. However, too much nitrogen can burn the leaves or roots so it should be diluted with water if the soil is dry.

I don't believe that a just God would allow Hell to exist (at least in the fire and brimstone for all eternity form that most Christians believe in), so that just leaves 4 possibilities.

1. Annihilation. You cease to exist, but you'll never know it, so nothing to really worry about.

2. Heaven. Always a winning choice.

3. Your spirit rejoins the cosmic consciousness. I imagine you'd suddenly be able to understand everything in the universe.

4. Reincarnation. Your spirit returns in another form in an endless cycle. Not sure I want to be a blobfish after being a human for several decades, but it beats annihilation I suppose.

Brussels sprouts. Though I like them best sauteed in either butter or bacon fat, so they're not quite so good for you.

I had some astoundingly good roast vegetables last Christmas. I layered potatoes, onions and carrots under the turkey, so all the juices dripped down and soaked into the veggies and made them taste amazing. AND it prevented the juices from smoking in the super hot oven.

I usually make my own.

4 tsp matcha (green tea powder)
1 packet each of sugar, aspartame, sucralose, and stevia
2 scoops Benefiber (optional)

Add a small amount of hot water and stir until everything is dissolved. Add ice cubes and stir to chill the mixture, then fill the glass the rest of the way with milk and stir to mix it all together.

The matcha doesn't actually dissolve, so you'll need to stir every few minutes otherwise it'll separate out.

Has about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee, but it's also loaded with L-theanine, which negates some of the jittery effects of caffeine and improves mental focus.

Using multiple types of sweetener cancels out the bad aftertaste while cutting 75% of the calories. Benefiber is a type of fiber supplement that is tasteless, colorless and flavorless but adds 1/4 of your daily fiber requirement.

I used to have sheep, Babydoll Southdowns. They look like little fluffy teddy bears. Don't let anyone tell you sheep are all alike because each of mine had a unique personality. One ewe was a loner, never wanted to hang out with the others. Another was a natural leader and would aggressively defend her flock. Our first ram was incredibly affectionate and would come up to you and beg for attention, but if you ignored him he'd get mad and headbutt your leg. The second ram (the first one's son) was a jerk and always tried to bully the other animals. This ended badly for him when he pushed the donkey too far. The donkey kicked him hard and broke his leg. It healed but not correctly and he had a limp the rest of his life. That kind of toned down his aggression.

And who's giving them the tablets? Shouldn't teachers know that such technology is addictive and should be consumed at your own risk?

my step sister doesn't get a book or a tablet. teacher just teaches them and expects them use a personal computer or device at home for homework. school went cheap here.

That's good, it really depends on the school district and whether you live in a fancy area or not. I think kids should be give apples and told to go do something, the complete institutionalization of education in my opinion has caused kids to turn into dumb adults.

uhh its not good. hell some of my step sisters classes are online only. guess what she does.... cheats on every damn thing.

then doesn't like it when I ask her history based questions and then laugh at her when she can't answer. despite currently taking history.

Girls have a different perspective on education. Women love trying to wear the pants, of course this has led to the downfall of every society that subjected itself to it thus far.

??? whats that got to do with what I said. cheating is a different perspective on learning? she literally copies and pastes her answers in half the time

Whatever. If that's what she's learning through her education, how to be a proficient cheater, then good luck to her I guess.

Cheating is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals... Except the cheetah.

That said, I do have a problem with the battery suddenly dying on me because I never remember to charge the damn thing. When it only needs to be charged once a month, I just don't think about it.

Gave my mare her vitamin treats.
Deleted my ex-roommate's access codes from the door locks.
Made a home-made vegetarian cup noodle (put super thin rice noodles, textured vegetable protein, parsley and a bouillon cube in a glass canning jar. When you're ready for soup, you just add hot water.)
Mixed up a pitcher of Crystal Light.
Took my evening vitamins.
Filled the pill container with my vitamins & stuff for next week.
Read the Wikipedia article on lipoic acid.
Ate half a candy bar (Cadbury Dairy Milk fruit & nut, it was on clearance at Walmart today)
Trimmed the hairs in my nose.
Brushed my teeth.
Watched an episode of Stargate: Atlantis (Epiphany).

After coming home and finding I'd left the door unlocked all night long, I replaced all the locks with Schlage keypad locks. You punch in a code to unlock the door, ten seconds later it automatically locks itself again. Never have to worry about leaving the door unlocked.

Plus I can give each roommate their own key code and when they move out, I just delete their code and they're locked out for good.

It took me decades to accumulate about 500 paper books. They take up about 26 shelves and cost literally tens of thousands of dollars.

I acquired over 400 ebooks last year. My total cost was under $700 and my whole library (863 ebooks, currently) can fit in my pocket.

Only time I've ever not given a tip the waiter was rude, took forever to take our order, and once he finally brought the food (which was cold) we never saw him again until he brought the check. Meanwhile I didn't even have a glass of water let alone the iced tea that I'd ordered.

So I signed the credit card slip and didn't put a tip on it. When I checked with my bank's website a few days later, I saw the total didn't match the receipt. The bastard had written in a tip for himself!

I called the bank and contested the charge and I wrote up a negative review for the restaurant on Yelp and Google.

Moral of the story: If you pay by credit card and you don't want to leave a tip or you want to tip in cash, be sure to write ZERO on the tip line then fill in the total line below.

At least 20%, but usually more. I usually figure out 20% then add enough to make the total nice round numbers. (i.e., if the total is $11.77, I'll give them $3.23, which is actually 27.4%).

When my SO and I were first dating, we used to go to the Sizzler every Friday evening and he'd tip up to 50%. The wait staff would bend over backwards for us. "Here, have a whole plate full of cheese bread." "Here's a pitcher of iced tea. You can keep it at your table."
