Your best bet is probably a dedicated WiFi access point which you can mount as high as possible as close to the center of your apartment as you can get it. A dual-band model will cost more but give you more options, especially if you have neighbors using WiFi.

Another option would be to run a good quality flat CAT5e or better cable along the baseboards from one room to another. This would be cheaper and more reliable than WiFi, especially in a crowded radio environment, but you're stuck with possibly unsightly wires. I've actually done this in my 1920s farm house, it's a lot easier than crawling around under the house, and by running the wire carefully, it's not terribly noticeable.

I have never had butter spoil. Salted butter contains enough salt to inhibit the growth of bacteria even if you leave it sitting out. Unsalted butter will go bad after a week or two if you leave it sitting out, but still contains enough salt that it should last a very, very long time in the fridge.

Now butter will absorb odors from the fridge, so keep it in the butter compartment if you have one, or else wrap it in foil or put it in a glass or plastic container.

The HPV vaccine is now recommended for everyone up to age 45. Previously it was limited to age 21 for men and 26 for women. The current version of the vaccine, Gardasil 9, protects against 9 strains of HPV representing about 90% of all cancers caused by HPV. If you've already been infected with one strain it won't cure you but will still protect you against the other variants.

The vaccine is given as a series of 3 shots taken over a 6 month period. If you live in the US and have medical insurance, vaccines of all types are usually free.

While you're at it, make sure to get your Hepatitis A & B vaccines. Hepatitis A is spread by eating contaminated food or water, while B is transmitted by exposure to blood or body fluids. And make sure you're up to date on your Td (Tetanus & diphtheria) or Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis) shots. Tetanus, or lockjaw, is a nasty disease caused by a bacteria found almost everywhere.

Topicso the diff between gigabytes and gigabits is what?
captpackrat
06/04/19 10:26:59 AM
#13
If you think gigabytes/gigabits is confusing, wait until you learn about gibibytes (GiB).

A gigabyte is 10^9 (1,000,000,000) bytes, while a gibibyte is 2^30 (1,073,741,824) bytes.

Kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes, petabytes, etc all all based on powers of 1000 (or 10^3)
Kibibytes, mebibytes, gibibytes, tebibytes, pebibytes, etc are all based on powers of 1024 (or 2^10)

The confusion between GB & GiB is why hard drives appear to never have the capacity stated on the box. Hard drive manufacturers list capacity in decimal gigabytes (128 GB is 128,000,000,000 bytes), while Windows erroneously uses the term gigabyte for binary gigabytes (gibibytes). 128,000,000,000 bytes is about 119 GiB.

And in black they look damn good.

Nair is basically slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) and lye (sodium hydroxide). These chemicals can burn your skin if you leave them on too long or if you use them on sensitive areas (like your crotch, armpits, nipple area, or face). Always test on a small area to see how your skin reacts before slathering it over your entire body.

Next thing you know you've got a drawer full of keys that obviously went to something, but you just can't bring yourself to discard them because you might eventually figure out what it's for.
