Before I play Bottle Up, I play a game I've had my eye on awhile -- I'm gonna call it the Swinging Ladder.

Basically, this is the game where you're on a swinging ladder and you have to climb upward to its end to win a huge prize. I have poor balance in certain circumstances and I know this game's not for me to likely win...but I try it anyway. It looks fun and I liked the girl running it named Rose -- I saw her trying to hustle me into the game the other day while on her smoke break, yelling something like "I can't walk away from here and this is my only chance, give me five minutes!" She also powers her way up the ladder consistently, so yeah, good job being good at your game -- I'M LOOKING AT ALL YA'LL BASKETBALL-BASED GAMES

I get two tries for $5. I take the first few steps okay -- you know, the parts where my heavy feet have an inflatable surface to press against so I don't flip over -- but once I lose that advantage, by design I'm sure, my body gets all shaky trying to keep control and it doesn't take long for me to flip upside to fall.

I asked her for how the pros do this well -- by the way, anytime you want to talk with a carnival worker, ask them how the pros do this so they have a moment to feel smart around you -- and her trick was to never stop moving. I assure you, I really wanted to do this, but my body was like a speed-run of Mischief Makers: SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE

Oh well, pretty fun to try. I'd love to practice this and get good, but my dad didn't play this thirty years ago and recreate a version of the game he could hand down to me years later so I'm not too stressed here.

Trick to that game is to not use the rungs. Only stay on the ropes themselves.

So I found my game soon after meeting that previous winner, but I circled around awhile first and got roped into another game first.

We'll call it Toss the Ball in the Bucket.

The goal: to toss the ball in the bucket. Truly, get two out of four throws in to win a prize.

Talked to a guy who was trying real hard to get me to play, to the point of saying "This is how I make my money man!" He made a deal where he'd let another guy play for free if I played, so I threw five bucks down. I asked them how the pros do this, and he told me "Hit the rim on the way in."

Four tries! First one bounced in and out, then, they threw one in. I took that opportunity to use the ball in there to stop it from bouncing out, and it worked. They then cleared the balls...uh-oh. On ball came short, the other bounced out. Bummer!

In hindsight, I think the actual trick is to throw them in for an angle. They could do it like that.

Still, he was alright with me. He was a stickler for rules at first, but when I asked if he cared my toes were on the line he said "I don't fucking care dude, stomp all over it." I liked him.

I shook hands and stepped away to smell the bad side of the fair, then got to the reason why I was there: Bottle Up.

Trick is to toss it with a high arc so it barely bounces off into the basket. If they have a strip at the bottom of the board, they are shady.

I actually had a vaguely similar experience at work a few years ago. My boss always used to yell at me for work he considered subpar. He was in poor cardiovascular health, and he would say that he needed to quit before my poor work gave him a heart attack. This was not a figure of speech; it was a pretty big concern for him.

He didn't quit. Instead, one day, he had a heart attack at his desk. We called 911 and they rushed him to the hospital but he died a few hours later.

Anyway, I wouldn't consider myself a victim of abuse - seems like an insult to all the actual victims of serious abuse out there. (Also, per Tony's comment, I wouldn't call myself blameless. I mean, I have no idea if I contributed to his death or not (though he DID like the final project that I finished for him!) But I definitely should have put out better work and had thicker skin in general.)

Damn, dude. Couldn't you have just done your job better and saved that guy from his heart attack. Sheesh. I hope his heart attack lit a fire under you!

Obviously you want the win, but it being close at all is a bad sign for Republicans going forward for 2020. They've already poured a bunch of resources into this race too.

I am not sure how much it relates. I almost think Trump on the ballot boosted republican results on that election term.

The question is, will Trump do so again.

You could argue if you fielded a better candidate than Clinton that you would have crushed a lot of the Senate and House seats in 2016 also.

If Trump wins in 2020, they will likely have boosted numbers in the house and Senate also.

I am not so sure that Toomey wins the Senate seat in PA without Trump. Clinton united typical Dems against the Dems with her anti coal talk. Which in turn united them against that woman who was an old DEP worker.

I think I am just a bit annoyed with all the controversy with his presidency. A lot of it is manufactured garbage, but some of it is just nonsense he doesn't need to get into. I am not sure if it is a byproduct of the new social media presidencies or not, but it is annoying. Also, he isn't trying to bridge to the other side and promote a cohesive America which I think a president of any side should do. You should be representing all Americans, not just "your side".

It sucks because policy-wise he is pretty much a dream candidate for me. But, he continues to stoop to a level he can just ignore and makes a rise out of it.

The problem is the left candidates have to pander to crazy as fuck leftist ideas due to it being their base, and half are out to literally destroy my job lol.

You are comparing apples to oranges here anyways, but it is good Trump didn't follow through with the Taliban peace agreement if they are attacking and killing American soldiers. It could have been miscommunication or such, but it is unlikely the attack happened BECAUSE Trump wanted to sign the agreement in person.

Grisham is a proven liar. Don't know about Bramell, but given that Pompeo has been described as "a heat seeking missile for Trump's ass" I don't think I'd put much stock in the CIA public affairs comments over the multiple sources that confirmed this story to CNN.

The article does provide info to Russia (two years after the exfiltration). Balanced against that is the fact the biggest threat to US national security is the president.

It says repeatedly that there are not other assets high in the Russian government and they are clueless to their inner workings. If their article is true, then it is truly not well thought out to post.
