When you talk to one of your companions and they offer you their companion quest, you autofail it the moment you take it. It's screwing up for me when talking to Felix, but I've heard that it can screw up the same way for Ellie as well (it seems distinct from the problem where the game wrongfully thinks your companion is dead when they aren't, which seems to screw Parvati's quest up).

Multiple people have apparently gotten it - I found multiple complaints when I was looking to see if there was a way around it/to avoid it for myself. Obsidian support says they're aware of it and are looking into it, but they were saying that before the last/recent patch came out (the one from a few days ago), and the patch didn't seem to fix it, so either they're still working on it, or they don't really give a shit about it.

As for avoiding it, as far as I know, there's nothing you can really do - either your game decides to fuck up or it doesn't. It's entirely out of your hands, because there's nothing you can really do to fix it.

The problem is, autofailing the companion quest straight out of the gate means you're going to get the worst outcome for that companion in the ending. Which doesn't really matter if you don't CARE about that companion, or the ending, but those are pretty much the only parts of this game I DO care about, so if that's borked, I get zero satisfaction out of playing it.

What pisses me off is that everyone was saying how the game was so much more bug-free than you'd expect from most modern AAA games (and Obsidian in general), so I bought it earlier than I likely would have, and then got a bug that is worse than almost any other possible bug could be in my eyes. As far as I'm concerned, this is on-par with one of the main quest objectives glitching and making the entire game unbeatable.

Well, that sucks. Ive been doing all the companion quest because I really do like them. Especially since thats part of the replayability and stuff. Like the different choices and endings... Hopefully, I either dont get it, or they find a patch. Finding a patch would be awesome since it would help others, as well...

Yeah. So it seems the big youtubers were just waiting for a little. Maybe talking to lawyers, reading the rules/laws, and watching some of the other videos...

Same here. I decided to try 4 some years ago when I got Xbox One and needed games. Love it, and then I got 5. Haha.

Funny thing is what made me want 4 was i had been told you could technically beat the game in like 20 minutes just by following the orders of thr bad guy. And I did that first. From the perspective of someone who knows no better aside from ming killing that one dude in the opening (showing hes a bad guy) its not a bad ending.

My co-worker who was playing the game at the same time told me. So, I also tried. Haha. But I definitely loved that game...

I think Ive only gone out on Black Friday like twice. Once was back home with my best friend. Sometime before I was 20.

The other time was like was less than 10 years ago. I dont exactly remember when. And I went for one thing. A Zelda Wiimote. It came with Skyward Sword. I had already beat the game, but I wanted that controller. I saw it weeks before, but when I was at the register, it wouldnt let them sale it. They said they had to wait until Black Friday. So, I braved the mob to get it. Turns out, the same thing happened to other people, as well. There was a small group of us trying to get it. But some didnt wait the whole time. Only a few of us did. And then, they still had trouble getting the registers to sell us the game. We did eventually get it. I got my controller and gave the game to my brother. I may replay the game soon...

I think it will come down to the judge, and any proof she can get. Though, it should be too hard for her to prove that she had them for a long time. But it's one of those weird cases. I do hope she wins, though. She if she can find proof that she had them for however many years. And try to get custody of them. If they like her more, or want to live with her, they'll have more say at that age...

True for some. Some doo pretty well, though. Some comments are even there to help a youtuber on a certain games. Or to vote on the next game they play. Plus, while they can add the vote thing at the top, that doesn't help when trying to find new games that your viewers want. Which they did through comments...

The problem isn't that the FTC is going to demand certain things from YouTube that YT will be forced to implement. The problem is that YouTube may (and likely will, based on prior experience) implement their own requirements which go far beyond what the FTC expects, and which will in turn be poorly managed to the point of fucking over thousands of completely innocent people.

YouTube has a history of overreacting to things, in the desperate hope that large advertisers won't pull ad revenue, and then enforcing them in the worst possible way because they're lazy and inept. And every time they go through one of these little crises, a few more content providers wind up dropping off, or being forced to turn their entire channel into a Patreon-funded system, or just switching over to something like Twitch. Which is bad for content providers, but it's also bad for the people who enjoy watching those content providers.

We're not quite at the point where everything is now completely fucked forever, but there's definitely the possibility that this could be an absolute catastrophe for tons of content creators who shouldn't even remotely be affected by it. It all really depends on whether YouTube is competent enough to actually define whether or not content is actually realistically for kids, and handles things in a way that isn't a complete clusterfuck (in spite of "clusterfuck" being the accurate description of most of their previous attempts to make the platform more family/advertiser friendly).

From what youtube said themselves (IIRC), they will use their machine to help people place the video where they think it should go. But they then said that it would ultimately be up to you to make sure it's in the corect spot. They said you could send feedback on why it belongs in a certain place. But the way they were talking about it made it seem like they would help you, but not be responsible in the FTC decided that it was wrong. From what I saw and heard, IIRC. This was some days ago, so I could have mis-remembered it. But it seems like the FTC has the final say. And they might not agree with youtube. And if they don't, then what youtube says really doesn't matter.

And I know youtube is lazy and poorly managed. Especially lately with the banning of people's whole accounts and with the way they will delete channels soon. But that makes it seem more like they wouldn't care as long as their asses are covered by shifting blame toward the content providers... Which can be hard to do if it's up to youtube to put things in the correct place...

It really sucks because I like watching certain creators on youtube, but many may leave. And some will be hard to find if they are for children, since it's like they are going to basically hide those. And not being able to leave comments kind of suck, as well. You'll have to have multiple types of media to talk to certain creators... But I don't think the machine will work well because it will probably use certain parts of the video to choose, when the whole video needs to be taken into consideration...

what I'm saying is not even about actually having kids. my point is that I think there's likely a potential psychological tendency (not for everyone) towards unhappiness without them in your life (any, not just your own). the point being to be aware of this as a potential source of depression, (maybe, maybe not, up to the person), so that you can at least be aware of it, and if you so choose, work towards it somehow; or maybe work harder on being a positive presence in the lives of the children that you do already know. I think there are a lot of people that might not even consider that as a possibility for their depression, but they might find something they didn't realize was there if they know where to look for it.

If you're talking about kids in his life, there is one. His niece. He's mentioned her many times. And even said he likes spending time with her until he gets annoyed or tired of her and get his sister (her mom, IIRC) to come get her. So, there is a child in his life.

I think many people do know it's a possibility. It's probably why many people do try to have a child to fix relationships or make them happy. Which, from what I've seen, usually turns out bad. But probably good for many other people. I think people should talk to a professional before having kids, though...

you guys are acting like I said that all depression is caused by not having kids, and that everyone should necessarily have kids. you don't even need to have them, just being around them can help, maybe, if you're depressed and your depression is a certain kind of depression.

And I said it could be. But I just dont think its that for that many people. People seem to think having a kid will make them happy or fix a relationship thats falling apart sometimes. But then, it ends up making things work. I feel its better to have a child while youre happy instead of having a child to make you happy. I know youre not saying to make a child to get out of depression, but its probably not a good idea for him to have a child until hes ready, if ever. You have to be ready more than just physically and mentally. You have to also be ready emotionally and financially, as well. And ready in all aspects of life. If not, things can end up bad.

Even if a video is obviously kid friendly like opening packages of toys (Barbie dolls for example) the learning machine will probable label it something different or worse because of the bullshit COPPA guidelines (bright colors or whatnot).

Kids werent as sheltered and could go outside to play with friends (and lots of bad things happened still, but eh).... People also seemed to get along more. And use to help out everyone else.

These days, people barely know their neighbors. Kids are sheltered and stuck inside unless they want to be kidnapped. Hate seems to spread much easier. People cant even have a conversation without someone being offended. And even when having a private conversation, people will but in to say they feel offended that you dont like the color purple. Nobody can agree on whats important. And so many people are living paycheck to paycheck. Which doesnt help that people have to pay back college loans for the unless diplomas that the world kept saying they would need to succeed in life...

The government isn't actually what you need to worry about.

The worry is that YouTube will decide to police themselves with yet another shit algorithm/bot that constantly mis-flags innocent videos while letting the actual offenders get away with terrible behavior, which is pretty much what it does now for any number of things. And that the appeals process will be broken as fuck and generally screw over content creators because that's easier to do than actually hiring competent employees who can quickly sift through moderation queues.

Apparently, thy are using the bot. But in the end, what YouTube thinks doesn't seem to matter. All that matters is what the FTC thinks... Though, I don't think it will last long before things go bad with the fines. Because the FTC doesn't seem to think their are cartoons and game for adults because they haven't updated the policy or whatever since 1998 or something... As the current rules say animation and video games are classified as for children, even though many games are rated T and M, IIRC...

Hows the one on Switch? Also, arent the battles in these games similar to a chess match?

Idk about the one on switch. For the others, I can say how the battles work, though. You have the enemy team that starts wherever they start. For you team, they have a certain amount of spaces for you to start on, and a certain amount of characters you can bring in battle. Before battle, you can switch which space they all start on (usually). After the battle starts, whoever's turn it is moves all their characters. If they land next to you character (or a certain number of spaces away depending on the weapon), they enter a battle. And then they fight using the equipped weapon and stuff. It's a little more complicated than that because you have special weapons skills, speed, and stuff. But that's the gist of it...

I can sum it up easier, it's FF Tactics without the magic and a attack system that's based on weapons in rock paper scissors style..

True. That's a better sum up. Though, they also must know it is a little more complicated once they start mixing in more weapons and stuff. Like long ranged, magic, promotions, etc...

I didn't suggest you should do so haphazardly. I'm saying at that age it starts to make more and more sense psychologically. A single middle aged man is definitely going to start to be depressed for these kinds of reasons, generally. At least it's a plausible explanation. If you're jaded to heck like a lot of people here are, being around children can be a great way to help that.

While I agree that it's a plausible explanation, I don't think you should really generalize people like that. Especially in this age where more and more people tend not to want children. Or as many...

I know plenty of people who are happy doing what they are doing without having children around...

I think it's partly that at this part in your/our lives (assuming around 30+ somewhere) we're supposed to have kids.

Now that I have nephews, they spice up just about everything I get them interested in. Any time they do anything it's practically immediately "wow!"; they get surprised and excited by the most mundane things.

Basically, you've run the course of what you can teach yourself. It's supposed to be time to start teaching your little ones what you've learned.

I don't think the machine learning is good news in that it's flawed. Even if a video is obviously kid friendly like opening packages of toys (Barbie dolls for example) the learning machine will probable label it something different or worse because of the bullshit COPPA guidelines (bright colors or whatnot).

I don't think he actually thinks it's good, since he put it in quotes and also stated how it still sucks ass. But it's probably better than nothing. As in, it will label some videos that people might not be able to get to and stuff like that. Either way, the whole thing sucks...

The government isn't actually what you need to worry about.

The worry is that YouTube will decide to police themselves with yet another shit algorithm/bot that constantly mis-flags innocent videos while letting the actual offenders get away with terrible behavior, which is pretty much what it does now for any number of things. And that the appeals process will be broken as fuck and generally screw over content creators because that's easier to do than actually hiring competent employees who can quickly sift through moderation queues.

Apparently, thy are using the bot. But in the end, what YouTube thinks doesn't seem to matter. All that matters is what the FTC thinks... Though, I don't think it will last long before things go bad with the fines. Because the FTC doesn't seem to think their are cartoons and game for adults because they haven't updated the policy or whatever since 1998 or something... As the current rules say animation and video games are classified as for children, even though many games are rated T and M, IIRC...

Part of the Stealth killing is the after part not being noticed how it happened quickly. A giant rock snake would be heard and seen pretty quickly after it happened

I feel like anyone who doesn't like Disney at all would find free ways to get the episodes to not give Disney any money. But if he goes the whole time and doesn't watch or want to watch anything else on the service then of course it'd be a waste of money.

I don't think he doesn't like Disney or anything. But he may not want to watch that much stuff on it. If he can watch the Mandalorian and maybe a few others things before his free trial + one month combo in over, that might be enough for him. If he thinks there's more he would enjoy, then maybe he'll consider getting more...

There will be an episode on the Friday of Christmas week. The week before that, when Rise of Skywalker is released in theaters the episode will be on Wed instead. It doesn't look like there will be any breaks in episode releases.
