What's your current activity in the game, TC?

I downloaded Hero Wars because it looked like a fun and addicting puzzle game where you pull the pins to kill a goblin but not yourself. Turns out it's just an incredibly lame RPG with a few of those puzzles scattered here and there (false advertising, wtf?).

But I know I've seen other ads for games of this sort, but don't remember their names. Does anyone know of any good ones?

I never roll to backstab those guys. Just try to run circles around them in the direction opposite of their sword arm and wait until they do a thrusting attack. Boom, you are now standing at their backside in perfect position for a backstab.

In fact this is how I achieve backstabs on most enemies. Rolling is pretty unnecessary except for bosses.

It doesn't poke holes in anything. This only shows that the human mind has a desire to cling to ideas that its comfortable with. In this case, I think people feel like they matter if they believe they were created with a purpose. Therefore a person who hasn't spent a lot of time thinking about how it could work otherwise would be susceptible to remaining in their comfort zone of beliefs.

I know this isn't always the case, but a large number of agnostics probably either fall in this camp, or the camp of not wanting to call themselves atheists because of the negative connotations society has about that word.

I know a lot of Republican voters have paid more attention to his ideas than you would have expected. I would expect even more to pay attention to him if he had an R by his name.

Also, if you continue to read/listen after SoD, prepare for a decrease in quality. The story starts following different characters that aren't as interesting as the main protagonists. There is still plenty to enjoy though, so don't listen to people who tell you they're trash.

Ciri's story is freakin' incredible, especially in Tower of the Swallow. I keep saying she's the real protagonist of the series. Her sections in that book caused me to listen to it a 2nd time, even though I had only listened to all the other books that came after SoD once.

2nd book is by far the best out of all 7. It's easily superior to TLW.

The first story in Sword of Destiny is my favorite Witcher story. I've listened to it at least 5 times.

The ending of the book is sooo good. Masterfully done, and gets better each time you read it. It nearly brought a tear to my eye on the 3rd listen.

I enjoyed the one with Kurt Russell.

For example Keanu Reeves, Cameron Monaghan and Norman Reedus?

... like a joke/Easter Egg character in a fighting game. Like Link in Soul Calibur II, Predator in Mortal Kombat X, or Akuma in Tekken 7.

I work 11 hour shifts (but one hour doesnt count because its lunch) but tonight I went in an hour early and didnt take a lunch. I only lost 4 hours of pay, and even if I had lost more who gives a fuck? My time is as valuable as my money.

Its going to be a painful conversation to have to listen to when I go visit them if it has. Both of my parents are religious zealots and homophobic, my dad being a RAGING hooting and hollering redneck homophobe whose favorite pastime is watching FOX News all red and puffed up in the face while they tell him what hes supposed to be pissed off about on any given day.

You know how in real life when you make a bad mistake, and you wish you could go back in time and fix it? I believe that was the first time I got that sensation from a video game. Sometimes I STILL wish I could go back and do the correct thing on that save. But then I wouldnt have the amusing story to tell.

^Every time i use a magic character, I rarely end up using the magic. Rolling/melee is just so intuitive in this game and seems to be what the game was designed around.

One of my fondest Dark Souls memories (and most agonizing at the time) was right after defeating the Taurus Demon for the first time. It had taken me a couple hours. I cant remember how, but I died before making it to a bonfire. Then instead of taking the safe route to recollect my souls, I decided to explore the new scenery on my way there, because surely they wouldnt put some bullshit right after a tough boss fight, right??? Moments later, the Bridge Wyvern breathed fire all the way from the other side of the fucking bridge and one-shotted me! Away went all of my Souls from my first tough boss, plus all the souls I had acquired from my many trips back to him. It was painful. I was furious. And I believe it was the moment I was officially inducted as a Dark Souls player.

Nah, you buy it from the same dude who you go to if you wanna play Cosplay Souls. So should be after Gaping Dragon if I remember right. Or whenever it is he moves to Firelink.

So its definitely beneficial to start the game with the MK then, if you want to avoid defeating bosses in certain areas.

Its fine. It just means youll have access to some areas sooner than you would have otherwise. If youre in an area that feels TOO challenging, there are probably other places you should explore first.

After youve beat the game once, the Master Key is the ONLY useful gift long term. So if you plan on playing NG+ with the character you made, you made the right choice, as I dont believe you get to re-select your gift.

In fact, the Master Key allows you access to many places early on without having to defeat bosses. And since you cant summon other players in areas where bosses have been defeated, you have selected the best item for getting the most out of co-op (I know you said you dont want to co-op on this playthrough, but you might on NG+ or a future character).
