How did you get by doing freelance writing and eBay selling?

I won't lie, I have a little help from my parents and it was tough especially in the beginning, but basically I just take as many jobs I can most of the time and Ebay gives me about an extra 300 dollars or more a month to go to bills and stuff. I mainly sell comics and high value collectibles so it adds up quick. For one example, I recently sold a Ghost GoT figure for 90 bucks which was sweet! I'm not a big money spender at all and prefer to save mostly.

Man, is it the fourth one already? This is fast approaching slasher series levels of sequelitis! Maybe I should slap a final chapter up there and just do another one next year anyway.

Well with two weeks until October, and myself being in a extra horror mood even more than normal, it's time to welcome all boys and ghouls to the latest installment of Snake Ranks Anything Horror Related, the annual series where I take your spooky nominations and try to make sense of the horrors that lie within them (with a numbered point rankings system)! This is one of my favorite parts of the Halloween season, and I couldn't imagine having an October pass without doing one of these now.

Rules:

1. You may nominate up to 5 horror-related things. Movies, books, games, TV episodes, online shorts, abstract concepts, it's all fair game. Whether it's horror-related is up to my discretion, and I'm very lenient about it so don't worry and just nominate what you want, even if it's a very fringe thing.

2. Do not nominate anything from the past years. The nominations will all be handily listed below in one document.

3. Nominations are ranked with three criteria: importance to the horror genre, fear factor, and my own personal enjoyment. In case of ties, rankings are weighted towards my personal preference.

4. As usual, I will be looking for at least 100 items.

5. All nominations unknown to me will be thoroughly researched and I will also do my best to personally experience it myself.

6. Have fun and get scared!

Like all of their games, they have lofty ideas that far exceed their actual capabilities as developers. You can play Haunting Ground from almost 15 years ago and experience more responsive AI with Hewie, so it's a little inexcusable. The story is good, but that's all there really is to it, and I prefer a bit more cohesion between gameplay and story halves.

Not that recent but Umbrella Corps for me. It was on sale and I only bought it for RE completionist sakes and hoped to at least maybe have a little fun killing zombies and crap in classic locations. A job will come when you're ready, the best thing to do is to just not stress about it much. Hope and believe you'll get your licence too!

I'm glad you recognize those horror elements of Shaun. It's part of why I love the movie so much too. A lot of horror comedies tend to forget the horror part.

I like that perspective on aliens. I fully believe in aliens (and a lot of other things) so that's not weird to me all, but it is refreshing to see a grounded take like that.

As for the school question, well I had an embarrassing bladder fail in 8th grade, so you're not alone there XD

Never heard of Spring

It's directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead of The Endless and Resolution fame. I don't like it as much as those but it's still a very fine film. Like usual the horror elements are downplayed, with it mainly being a romance film that eventually introduces body horror and Lovecraftian elements. It's very cool and wholly unique!

That's precisely why it's so good. She had a lot to say, so she said it. The album still retains her "girl next door" personality, too - which she lost after the success of her pop songs. It's sad to have seen her go from that to someone producing synthesized, meaningless garbage :/

Yeah I do agree with this to some extent. 1989 is a pretty great pop album imo, but Rep and especially Lover had a lot of duds in them. I also thought she got really annoying with the constant referencing of Easter eggs and stuff, it almost feels like the music became an afterthought.
