AFAIK, Part 3 and Part 4 Jojo put in none of that hard work. True on later Jojos but I was only speaking in reference to Part 2; the Hamon parts are more traditionally Shonen, when you especially look at Part 4 onwards the concept of power levels and training more or less ceases to exist. --- |

Characters like Goku, Gon, and Joseph Joestar are gifted with fabulous genetics but they also have to be willing to put immense work in because those who oppose them have fabulous genetics or underlying circumstances of their own. --- |

The money didn't disappear either, it simply changed hands. I don't see why Ellen has some grand responsibility to give all that money away when each day we implicitly endorse the system that is integral for people like Ellen continuing to exist.
