I've mostly avoided Splatoon 2 because they shut down the Splatoon 1 servers so quickly. I had some fun with it before drifting away for a short while, and before my interest came back, the servers were gone. To be fair, I only picked it up a couple years into its lifespan, but it's still made me not want to give Nintendo any more money for Splatoon.

I would say that's the Wii U's fault, not Splatoon's fault.
The Wii U failed harder than the Vita and that is saying something considering the Vita single-handedly insured that Sony will never make a handheld gaming system ever again.

Look, I agree with you that the Wii kinda sucked unless you did homebrew. I didn't want a whole console for Xenoblade X, Bayonetta and Fatal Frame. Thankfully I can get Bayonetta 1 and 2 on Switch.
IMO the Switch is the best Nintendo console since the Gamecube. Wii and Wii U were both meh

Feels like a 90s Sega Dreamcast game with HD graphics which is a good thing. Creative ideas and not just a generic shooter, no microtransactions, just an inexpensive expansion pack which isn't a big deal, colorful 90s cartoony aesthetic, just fun.
I wish I had played this game sooner.

Remember when Columbine was the only shooting to ever be talked about? Then after about 8 years Virginia Tech happened. Harris, Klebold and Cho were really the only people synonymous with mass shootings.
They were more frequent with Obama in office, and now even moreso with Trump.
Why do you think this is? Maybe it has to do with Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold being perceived as heroes by many young people, and those people grew up to be mass shooters too. Maybe the changes in political climate could be a cause too.

One thing about Donald Trump presidency should have already taught everybody, is that going after a political figure for their rhetoric doesn't actually do anything.
Let's be real here, everybody has had times in their lives where you looked at a person and felt "Hey that person's fat" or "That person's ugly". It's in human nature to have temporary insensitive feelings and anybody who claims they've never said anything insensitive and is some perfect being who loves everyone is a dirty liar.
Attack presidents on policy because attacking them on rhetoric is just cringe and also counter-productive.

I used to be obsessed with perfect dark zero. Played the hell out of it. Loved the campaign. And the music from the 1st mission(the one playing in the club) was great dance music. I remember purposely standing outside of the club just to listen to it

YES, I like the song too. The nightclub in PDZ is probably my favorite level in any shooter of the 360/ps3 era, period. Screwing with the guards was fun and the whole atmosphere felt really cool.

I just bought Gears of War Ultimate Edition (Along with Killer Instinct) because it was on sale.
I played through a bit of the campaign. I seem to be having more fun with it than I did back then, probably because my TV/audio setup is much better than it was in 2006. Still all the grey in the level design and lack of enemy variety from what I remember though.
I have Gears 2 with all DLC as well.
@LeetCheet that achievement is back with Gears Ultimate. Maybe I'll go for it once I get XBL Gold. :P

I was a HUGE fan of the original Perfect Dark and PDZ was one of the three games I bought the day I got my 360 (the other two were Gears and Prey). I don't think I could have been any more disappointed in PDZ, it was just so meh.

I totally understand the disappointment for fans of the original Perfect Dark. At least Rare was still trying to be creative with it though. I want something that isn't just fighting in corridors all the time, game modes other than deathmatch, big maps. Perfect Dark Zero still had all of that. Back then people would say Timesplitters Future Perfect was better than PDZ (and it was) because it had even more of that stuff along with map editor on console. Gears wasn't even close to that level of variety and creativity though.

I played it on launch day because all my XBL friends were playing it at the time.
I just looked at my achievement list and all these single player achievements and multiplayer achievements were unlocked mid-late 2006. I have around 800 gamerscore for the game.
I clearly remember Halo, Timesplitters 3, and even Perfect Dark Zero being more fun to play. Timesplitters had map editor which was pretty amazing for an original Xbox game. Perfect Dark Zero had unique game modes for multiplayer and very customizable too. I was used to having all these cool ideas implemented in games at the time and Gears still felt very barebones with a lack of creativity.

I don't actually think linear is ALWAYS bad. It's just, if you combine it with all the other stuff I mentioned it makes for a very mediocre game.

I'm glad to hear that they improved the level design with the games. Maybe I will give GeoW2 and up a try eventually. I know you all are saying GeoW 4 sucked but again, in my case maybe I'll like it if the level and enemy design are less grey and game is less linear? Those were my main griped with the first game. It felt like Halo but fighting the Flood in a hallway the entire game. That's what I remember my opinion of the first GeoW was and I even finished the game on the highest difficulty and played MP too.



I don't think this photo is as relevant anymore. That's partially why I'm willing to give Gears another shot.

I only played the first game way back on launch day because of the hype. All my Xbox Live friends were playing it at the time. I personally found it pretty generic back then and had way more fun with Perfect Dark Zero.
The game was linear, environments all extremely bland, couldn't get into the multiplayer or co-op, the gameplay was like every other shooter at the time, never understood why everyone loved it so much. I dunno it just felt average to me.
I just got an Xbone recently and I decided to look at some screenshots for Geow 4 and 5, they actually look pretty cool. The bland grey from the first game isn't really there. It looks better and the character designs look cool too.
To those who have played any games after the first one, how are they?

The SNES could have big 2D RPGs on carts though. Couldn't the N64 have gotten watered down ports of Breath Of Fire 3, and other 2D RPGs, or something?

I loved that game. It was a Christmas present my mother one year. It wasn't one of the games I had asked for or even one that I had heard of. None of my friends had heard of it either. So I was a little disappointed at first. But it turned out to be a game that I really enjoyed.

Don't you just love nostalgic little memories like that?
I got a PS1 for Christmas when I was little with a game called Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. I loved the hell out of that game and was disappointed to learn when I was way older that critics and internet hated the game.

That was another game I looked into, along with Aidyn Chronicles. Of the 3, Hybrid Heaven looked most interesting.
I've heard that for Aidyn and maybe even Quest 64 you gotta look at the english-translated Japanese versions because the english versions of the plot were butchered very badly.

I get why people wouldn't want her to be there, but it seems like people are making way too huge of a deal out of this. All I see is her trying to be friendly, it doesn't hurt anyone if she's just trying to be part of a conversation. Her socializing is not the end of the world. I see people making fun of her for "trying to fit in to the cool kids group" like in high school, but isn't it worse to flat out be the high school bully yourself saying that?
