And I'm just telling you that if they wanted to keep Charlotte face, they had plenty of viable options to keep her that way. Asuka is absolutely as credible as Charlotte when you look at how poor Charlotte's post-WM run was (hint there was a lot of losing and her big Summerslam victory ended in her getting her ass beat). Why not send Asuka? Give Asuka the chance to turn heel and give Charlotte a new heel foil for her on Smackdown so they can keep her babyface.

All the injury did was move along the process sooner, no more than the Ambrose turn was pushed up thanks to Roman's leukemia.

At the time of SS, WWE absolutely did not think Asuka was on that level, nor did they portray her that way

Except shortly after SS they added Asuka to a match that they didn't need anyone to take a pinfall for. If WWE didn't think anything of Asuka, why is she added to the possible ME of TLC two weeks afterwards?

I'm as big a Carmella fan as you'll find and this is not really an accurate retelling of the events. She was basically the Rey Mysterio title run of the women's division (while somehow also being booked to have clean wins over Charlotte Flair and Asuka-- don't ask me how they did that but they did)

That's more clean wins than Rey had during his reign.

It's incredibly naive to think they changed story direction because of fan demand, and not because they wanted a heel to beat Rousey down and didn't actually care who it was in the long run

I guarantee you 100% that if Becky didn't get hurt, Charlotte's still the face.

Becky gave them an out to turn Charlotte sooner than later but they wanted Charlotte vs. Ronda at some point and they wanted to keep Ronda face.

To put it this way: why not choose Asuka? If they wanted to keep Charlotte face, protect her from taking another loss, and put out a match people wanted to see, there was Asuka right there.

I have no problem with people choosing to still enjoy his product. If you can separate the two, it doesn't make you a racist as well. @WiggumFan267 and I had many a discussion about this after it came out and I chose not to support his work anymore. I unsubscribed to his channel and unfollowed him on Twitter and haven't seen anything of his since nor rewatched any old videos.

From what I understand it all comes from one interview where the interviewer started randomly asking a funnyman YouTuber about world politics and JonTron gave some very unprepared, rambling responses that definitely leaned racist. If I'm wrong and it's more than that, then okay, but if that interview is where all of it comes from I definitely feel like it's blasted way out of proportion.

The problem is that he doubled down and started into white identity/nationalist ideals, argued rich black people commit more crimes than poor white people, talked about Mexicans reconquering parts of the southern US, etc.

So some quick character thoughts:

Erik has an interesting introduction but then is kinda just sorta there for every other spot. The voice actor has a really awkward delivery, too. Like he has marbles in his mouth while talking.

Veronica being bossy and annoying isn't surprising since that's the trope for the little girl character in every fucking jRPG, but it would have been nice if we had gotten something a little different considering she's actually a grown-ass woman. And it completely overshadows poor Serena who has all the personality of a 2x4 with a smiley face painted on it. I figured being the more docile one there would be more moments of her showing compassion or something but not much of anything for her, really. I also noticed their skill trees are the smallest so maybe they die/disappear at some point?

Sylvando proved me wrong. I said I was gonna either love or hate this character, but I'm neither. I'm very barely leaning towards like right now, mostly because changing him out of the jester outfit and into some dapper clothes helped. Also, the Bullion Boys scene was awesome and I liked him trying to be all manly-Spanish dude for a bit. I generally appreciate camp, but I feel he's leaning a bit too hard into it.

Rab is a pretty cool dude. I think the familial connection helps, too, although I'm not sure if a thick Scottish accent was the right call. Maybe if he had a full beard then I could get a Gimli the Dwarf feel and it would compliment it, but considering the white-mustached older character is a staple of DQ it feels off.

Jade is my favorite, bar none, based on how the character is introduced, used, and her role in the story. I had completely forgotten about the child carrying the protagonist at the beginning by the time we met her so it felt like a great reveal and added some weight to the story that had been missing since that scene with Chalky. But to have someone actually feel incredibly competent from the second we're introduced to her, that her sex appeal aspects feel like they're limited to in-game battles and not the actual story, to an already developed relationship with the main character both in the initial story and their first moments back together (jumping off the cliff and saying "I won't lose you. Not again." or something to that effect) really established her importance to the overall story and the main character.

It's kinda fitting that she hands Erik's ass to him to basically make me go "yup, she's replacing Erik in my line-up."
