I always wanted a Negev, but I never had any luck, outside of some 5* MG that apparently wasn't that great (at least compared to the most desirable ones). I find MGs to be too resource-intensive, so I haven't really trained any since the early days of M2HB glory.

You're right about the level-capping regions -- that definitely dissuaded exploration. Perhaps that could be fixed if a remaster ever comes 'round.

I've never bought a lootbox before. Are they comparable to say a trading card game booster pack of getting something substantive, or are you basically getting junk most of the time?

The most common rewards are usually junky, sure, although even in TCGs, there are going to be cards at common rarity players will definitely want. When you open a lootbox and get a terrible player (sports games) or a spray/icon (Overwatch-esque games) or non-tradable jank, that just gives feelbads.

Auto-resupplying is fine if you have the resources (they're going to be resupplied eventually anyway), but there are strategies for doing it manually, too. Make sure you're using spare generic units -- early on it'll be 2* handguns and stuff -- to power up the ones you want to use. I'd also suggest saving cores for 5* units, because they'll be tough/expensive to dummy-link without duplicates.

Also, each dummy link gets a unit an additional 50% EXP multiplier, so you'll definitely want to dummy 'em up sooner rather than later, as mentioned.
