Anyways as far as the Sultan thing goes it went down basically like this.

-I mentioned Sultan looking not so hot in a couple of exchanges.

-When it came time to mention who i'd like to focus on I said:

But no one will get on board with that and Zam can't be the only scum so we look elsewhere. And to me elsewhere means somewhere between Zach / Fake / Sultan / ScareNana who have all seemed bad at various points.

-I then detailed the conversation that Sultan participated in day 1 when they talked about the deadline. It was as follows:

Red: Also what time is deadline?
Sultan: 410
Sultan: 48 hours right so yes 4:10
Nana: I thought deadline was 11 PM EST and day started early but that meant we got extra time?
Sultan: Ahhh

-I said that based on the fact that he participated in a conversation about the specific time that day was ending that posting 23 minutes late warranted a modkill regardless of alignment.

-Sultan Says:

I literally missed the rule you can't post after stop. Also you want to lynch it modkill someone for a rookie mistake then you could make fake mods killed because he changed posts

-And it was crap that he would calim that he "missed a rule about posting after stop" because the word STOP is the rule itself. And so i said as much. But also said that I wasn't asking the host to change the result and MK him, just that it was clearly a mistake.

-Which resulted in this post from Sultan:

I'm okay with it in theory, and I like the steps that Panth has taken to not be completely specific about his action.

But when you think about it logically there are only a couple of realistic choices for his action tonight, and I can only imagine what tools scum might have to play that interaction against us.

Someone mentioned the possibility of a bus action at some point (I'll take a look and see who that was exactly after this message) and the fact is we've only seen a Vanilla and a Scanning Role (Detective) flip and we've seen the effects of a roleblock. It feels like scum must have some other way to interact with us and we could just be setting ourselves up for disappointment by hoping to get too much out of Panth's supposed mason recruit. Whatever tools they have at their disposal they would definitely be using to obfuscate tonight's actions.

But good stuff with the Zam iso so far, keep it up!

I'll look up who mentioned bus real fast and then repost my SUltan findings. There wasn't much more than I said earlier.

And that is why i run 2x wisp and 2x moonfire in the mecha'thun deck im working on.

Even from 5 cards in hand i can play the other 4 and have a clear board to win with. And im only 33% likely to lose to demonic project.

The timing on this vote from MZero feels off. It came in the wake of panth's reaction to Scare's early day 2 gambit. And regardless of Panth's alignment the timing of starting to pile onto Panth seems weird. Either collecting townpoints if Panth is scum or a "with the crowd" timing to angle towards a mislynch. It was just a quick parrot of what others had already said followed by getting the 4th vote on panth.

It is a bit different from FD's posts in Blade Mafia 5, but not signficantly. FD made two "check in" posts early on that came with excuses not to do anything and leave. Tony's was just nothing.

I have a retraction / apology to make. I responded to these Crescent posts as though she were referring to the most recent game, which was TinyToony, and not Blade5. In TinyToons I knew for a fact that I made only 1 single check in post which was subsequently followed by a sleugh of content. In Blade 5 I know I had at least some amount of my "wall of responses", but there may have been more than a single check in post, and it was probably not to the same extent as the content I had in TinyToons.

I am still a bit bitter about the previous game and so I was focused on that and did not pay enough attention to the "Blade 5" portion of this post. So for that, Crescent, I'm sorry.

As far as this scare post... I appreciate the proactivity, but I also wonder if it isn't just a bit opportunitistic as well. I am very doubtful that zam is a town-only lynch and so at what point would his scummates have decided to attach theri names to his sinking ship? They couldn't have known he would have fully modkilled himself before the end of the day so they would want to creep into the zam lynch before it was too obvious.

Zam was a scum vanilla, and I think in the short time it took him to go from pressured to claiming he had already been told that if worst comes to worst he should choose a claim that might fish for information. And I want to be clear, Panth has not been entirely cleared by the lawyering. It's entirely possible to lawyer from scum to scum. But if I had lawyered ONTO a town then I was toast.

But honestly I got very lucky at work yesterday. I did have to send a cashier home early (toothache, she claims :/) and so I was doing extra duty again, BUUUT we had a glorious 30 minutes or so with no new customers and I was able to try and keep up with the topic on my phone just in time for the day to go twilight.

I had been struggling with myself over whether or not to use it yesterday, and I knew I had to be careful. At least when I hid behind Han in blade mafia I knew that by leaving a hint I would be trading 1 for 1 with scum, but if I had choosen wrong here it would have been a 2 for 0. Not just a 2 for 0 but possibly a 2 for 0 INSTEAD of 1 scum for 0 so it would have essentially been a 3 person swing in scum's favor. But the fact that sheer happenstance allowed me to even have time to be checking in during the end of day told me that it was the time to act so I went for it.

And thankfully it all worked out!

ANd honestly the walls aren't too bad this time. A lot of the conversation from day 2 was the same handful of players saying the same couple things to each other and there really wasn't much to say about any of that. We really shouldn't have ended early. -_-

Opened a total of 115 packs. The whizbang craft actually happened around pack 90 because that's when I had enough dust. I was just crossing my fingers hoping I wouldn't open up a regular whizbang before then.

I'm not sure if Mecha'Thun is going to have more success in druid or rogue. Druid is probably more consistent (I'm gonna try and math out on average how many turns I would need to survive before it goes off), but with the right draw you could play unstable element on 6 and you would just need to empty your hand/board over 3 turns.

Orrrr if it's honestly just best played as a fatigue buster to win control vs control matchups :/

Unfortunately ive only been able to read along via mobile. I do my wall constructing on PC so i won't be able to participate in the way that I would prefer to.

So ill just have to type up my thoughts on mobile in brief concise sentences and paragraphs like some kind of peasant.

Regarding the happenings of today i have to more or less agree with Corrik, loathe though i am to give him any credit whatsoever.

Panth really seems to have tipped his hand. Major credit for that goes to the scare gambit.

Still waiting to hear from puns but the leo track seems undeniable. With our tracker and watcher in the open we stand a great chance of getting some more relevant data moving forward.

We can't relax though. We have a great advantage but we had that in PW too.

I still want to dig deep into day 1 to read all of the zam interactions and plum interactions, but i really need to set aside some time for that.

I wish i had more but ive still essentially only been through a single brief pass through of most everything so far, but i should have more time after work tonight.

I make a point to read every single post, but I end up only commenting on maybe a handful of posts out of every hundred or so. I still try to keep track for my own sake when specific conversations occur so if I need to find them later for specific quoting I don't have to look through the whole thing, but generally I feel my approach results in my having a pretty solid retention of what's been said.

After I was dead last game and reading along there were a bunch of instances where someone would ask a question like "didn't someone bring up a point like this earlier or something". And everyone shrugs and says "I dunno". And I'm just screaming at my screen saying "YES, There was a WHOLE CONVERSATION about this already topic 3. Why does NO ONE remember?!".

Third time I've seen something scummy from you, I let it pass twice but this is counting votes at its finest.

Looking through zam posts this feels like it has the potential to be significant. We already know Zam is particularly feckless as scum based on his reluctance to have even 3 votes on Corrik. Is scum zam showing initiative here trying to 'build a case' against town dumey? Or is this similar to his early corrik vote last game that was scum on scum?

And on the face of it I can't even understand what Zam is trying to accuse dumey of. "Counting votes"? He is saying that a lot of people haven't put a vote anywhere yet, and that is being interpretted as what? Dumey trying to figure out how many votes are needed for scum to hammer? The only reason I don't want to immediately murder Scare right now is that he's been this grievously wrong and stubborn about me before based on very little reasoning while more or less ignoring everything else I said in a game before.

It was in the other Chris game that was already referenced. I was countertunneling him relentlessly for it because I expected town Scare to understand how I ticked and know my actions that game would never have come from my scum play.

If I asked you the chances I would be scum in 3 games in a row with this breakdown, it would be

2% or a 1/50 chance.

So, yeah, there is a 2% chance I would roll scum in all 3 games in a row.

However, since I already rolled scum in those both those games already, my odds of rolling scum this game are 27.3%, but bigger picture it is 2% for all three.

Close, but it's actually only about half that^

and 1/3 is not average scum size but typically more of the max scum size. 1/4 is more of the minimum with the average falling somewhere in between. The cube root of 47 is 3.6 so I guess the average over the last 3 games is 1 in 3.6.

And I wont be on those posts for awhile but later on you say that I should be posting my usual activity rather than posting the reason why I'm not available to do it.

Do you realize how idiotic that is? It takes me 10 minutes to make a post explaining how (A) my birthday is this weekend and (B) I have lots of crazy work and (C) I have to get up early for church [this one is because my wife and I are going to a new church that is about an hour each way to get there so sundays just got busier moving forward]. It takes 10 minutes to throw that together.

On the flip side it is going to take me HOURS to poor through the thousand+ posts in day 1. HOURS that until just now I hadn't even the slightest moment to properly spare time for. But I'm committed to the idea that the clues are already there and if I put in the time I can find them, so I will be putting in the time. So I'm not trying to ride off last games coattails, because the shit I did last game is the same shit I did the game before, and the game before. I don't expect you to think I'm town this game because I was town last game. I expect you to think I'm town this game because I'm going to do my damndest to hunt scum and I intend to find them.

The problem with pocket galaxy is it only b effects minions in your deck. So if you are trying for some kind of 1 mana malygos plays you can't guarantee he gets the buff. And in some kind of minion based deck (low spell elemental mage) you end up not going off until turn 8 at the earliest? And that's after 7 mana do nothing on 7? And then the only way you get more than 1 discount to the board is if you saved your card draw spells. The same spells that could cause you to discard pocket galaxy if you played them before you draw it.

Can 1 mana minions be powerful? Of course. But it seems that by the time you are doing those things other decks will already doing their own strong(er) plays.

Im explaining my activity because for some reason i got lynched for not being around last game in spite of my extraordinary levels of effort.

And while it was scum who did the bulk of the lynching no one else did a damn thing to stop it or thought afterwards "hey maybe only scum would have railroaded FD in that situation so we should facemurder all of those guys".

Take last game for example. Zam put a random vote on corrik and said "lets goooo". It was quickly followed by 2 more votes. This was the start of applying pressure. Zam chickened out immediately and took his vote away. And that reaction spoke volumes to me. That was real information about Zam's state of mind based on his nervousness to have "led the charge" of a paltry 3 votes. But what we need to then do is take stock of that interaction, and the information it provides, and move onto the next branch, and the next branch.

And I don't mean to go overboard on this tree analogy, I just feel very strongly about early game interactions, and how important they can be and how much fruit (heh) they can bear going forward.

And so leo's random vote on plum? imo by itself it was fine. It got others to join him, and others still to question his motivation and challenge him. And that right there is content, and it's interactions that can tell us about leo and plum both later on. But we can't stop there, we have to have other strong interactions between other players, the cumulative nature of which will actually give us very tangible information to work with.

And even if today's lynch has been decided an entire 24 hours early we need to not rest on our yannys and make the most of the time we have. I know that's ironic coming from me today, but I hope you will understand cut me a break and expect that i'll make it up and then some just as soon as I'm able.

Now am I misremembering my own posts from Blade Mafia? Because that's not what happened at all.

I made exactly ONE post in blade mafia that was anything of the checking in nature. And it was along the lines of "checking in and i'm heading to work now, but I'll get to work after I get home from work".

And that's what I did. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning after I got home from work (that was when I got home 2 hours and 45 minutes later than I was supposed to because I had to close the whole store by myself). And I stayed up listening to music for an additional 4 hours or so and contributed a hell of a lot.

So I'm really confused how that is getting confused for "fd makes useless check in posts in blade mafia". It was 1 post and it was followed by a veritable shit load of content. I feel like the fact that crescent has felt the need to mention it numerous times indicates that she is trying to paint me in a very negative light and I don't care for it.

And with that I have to be up for church in 6 hours so I take my leave.

Yes, that was zam. But that was just a part of a large jumble of poorly organized "zam-walls" that took up the whole beginning of Topic 1, Page 5. When we get confirmation of zam's alignment I'm guessing there will be a lot of interesting things to see in there.

Now reading topic 1 I see some miller stuff that doesn't mean a whole lot to me yet, and from there it transitions into leo's for-no-reason-plum-vote followed by a lot of discussion of leo and that vote.

And on that I'm fairly torn, because I feel like in theory, I agree with Leo in that it can be good just to go with something and see what happens. But in practice I'm not sure if it works as well as it might in theory.

The way I see it town as a whole is like a tree, and the members of town/scum are all branches on that tree. And in this analogy lynching someone is represented is snapping off a branch to see it's alignment. And in theory I think it's a very good idea to take a branch and give it a good bend. Not all the way until breaking, but enough to see some results. To see how that branch interacts with the branches near it, and how the stress on that branch affects the tree as a whole. You can get a lot of juicy reactions by taking a branch to nearly it's breaking point. But you don't want to just pick a single branch or two at random and apply meaningless pressure, and that's where I feel leo misses the mark. Maybe you start at someone at random, but you don't stop there. You bend the branch, you take stock of how everyone reacts, and you pick one of those reactions to test with the next branch. And I think in theory if we could apply REAL pressure to a half dozen people (or more) during day 1 that would give us an incredible wealth of information. We could paint a veritable taspestry of all the reactions and impressions. But in practice we end up only putting real pressure on maybe 2 people throughout the day with only the barest of stray votes on anyone else and not enough teamwork as a town to make any of that pressure significant.

I'm not entirely clear on what insane thing he did, but I'll get to that.

So I'm just going to be crystal freaking clear, because the last thing I want is a repeat of last game.

I have to work. A lot.

And my work SUCKS right now. A lot.

I work nearly every day. This work is supposed to be from 3:30 PM until around 10:30 PM PST. But a lot of employees have quit lately and as I am 2nd in charge I am not responsible for hiring replacements. The person who IS in charge is terrible at their job and so I end up running shifts with next to nobody there and having to stay hours late every day doing everything by myself. It is miserable and this misery has been slowly bleeding into every aspect of my life as this persists for weeks now. (I am waiting to hear back about a significantly better job, but I can't quit this job until that pans out).

I am not using that as an excuse, because I will still put all my available time towards reading every post and contributing to the best of my abilities. I will sift through old posts trying to find inconsistencies or generally locate significant posts that otherwise were lost in the shuffle. I put a lot of effort into quotes/replies and I think that effort has a genuinely positive effect towards finding scum.

I was very upset last game to have been lynched out of nowhere while I was at work, when the justification seemed to hinge solely on the fact that I was not around to defend myself.

The fact that 80% of my lynch was carried out by scum makes me feel a bit better, but I'm still upset that it was allowed to happen, and that the people responsible were not raked over the coals afterwards.

I don't mean to ramble, I just want to be perfectly clear in advance that while my time is limited you can still expect content out of me, and if you are familiar with my play you should know I will deliver upon that.

BUT with that said there are exceptions to everything. It has been my birthday for approximately 3 hours and I'm not sure how much time I will be around today. It's almost 3 AM and I need to sleep now. And then I have birthday stuff tomorrow morning/afternoon to do. And then I have to go to work, because of course I have to work on my birthday because fuck this job. And then early sunday is church and afternoon sunday will be some belated birthday stuff to make up for having to work today.

I've listened to the video so many times now. It reminds me of when Pippin (Billy Boyd) sings to Denethor in Return of the King.

Really great stuff. I decided to do the intro to Kul Tiras in WoW last night - which I'm assuming takes place after the video when Jaina returns. The Warbringers song is clearly referenced ("Daughter of the sea") and a verse is sung in the game at one point.

I love that Pippen song. It's got a sort of haunting beauty to it.

Star aligner doesn't seem that hard especially in priest.

Stick a 7 health stealth (tiger + PW: shield)

Next turn:

Injured blademaster + circle of healing + star aligner

There are plenty of other ways you can manipulate a 7 hp to stick and then its just ac3 card combo that you run 2 copies of.
