There are places where there is no reliable public transportation where Uber is a godsend. Also paying that much money to be a cab driver was a ridiculous practice in the first place. That's not Uber's fault. Not like driving a person from point A to point B is a difficult job that deserved people to pay 4 college educations worth of money to enter the market.

What's the average cost to raise a child to 18 these days? As I am now, I dont really want a kid. That's not to say I wont want one in the future but for now the money I have goes to paying for me to live and the excess is to go out and have fun with my friends, and a kid would shake that whole thing up. It works, but only because you go from sober but hungover to drunk again. And when you're drunk you tend to not give a shit anymore, so those symptoms get pushed aside. Doing this is what makes me puke more often than not just FYI. I never puke the night of, and if I ride the hangover out I'm fine, but when I drink to overwrite the hangover then that's when I get really fucked

Social lubricant, lowered inhibitions, etc. Slmetimes it's a good outlet to let go of the baggage you have. At least that's how I use it. I drink for a couple of days and then quit completely for a week or two. But I make the most of it when I do drink. *shrug*

I turn 29 on Sept 4. I drink a lot. My job entails me to meet a lot of people and make small talk. Sometimes I get assholes, and sometimes I get people that I connect with on a real level...I actually have people that give me their personal number so I can drive them on a cash basis which is less than what Uber charges them and more than what I get. And we hang out after hours too.

Reality to me is what you make of it. I've lost a lot of close friends to moving away, and I've lost 2 to suicide. I grew up without a dad, whatever. I have built in excuses that I can fall back on but I dont like going that route. Because at this point my life is my own and I'm in charge of my own happiness and also in charge of my friends. I love my mom, I love my siblings, I love my grandparents on my moms side. My roommate is a nerd like me and we'll play DBZ or Injustice or Smash and talk about random bullshit. But we both are comfortable talking shit to the other person. I cant really complain, even if it's not the "ideal life". I have a bunch of good times and good people surrounding me and I cherish it, and that's what life is all about imo

I got lucky because my grandparents are honestly like parents to me, I mean I grew up in their house for 7 years and when we "moved away" it was across the yard and I still went over there every day. :P I love them and had a good family life even if it wasnt the typical dad and mom thing. I had a good upbringing.

My step dad on the other hand is a different story but I dont really wanna get into that.

You realize not just anyone can roll up there and take a child right? They do background checks and everything. Odds are that kid will be in a better situation than they would have been being raised by the mom who is not prepared to be a mom.

Taxation in itself isnt theft, because it is meant to be allocated into public services and projects to make our lives better. And I'm down with that, we all need to contribute to fund the betterment of society. That's theory at least.

Where the theft comes into place is when politicians take that money and use it to pay themselves and their croneys and do half assed jobs funding education and roads, etc. How much money is unaccounted for on the federal books? The pilot is kinda wonky. But still funny. Theres also some vague continuity throughout the series and it gets polished as you watch more episodes. They hadn't quite figured out the direction they were going with in the pilot. Just watch a few more. I think it was episode 4 or 5 when it got real.
