I think a lot of flaws could be overlooked if the main character was more likeable. Noir characters can be likeable like Sam Spade or Jake Gettis. Phelps is a straight up asshole. Even a straight laced, by the book cop could work if done right. As for his cheating I could have accepted it maybe if his home life was bad or something, but we never get a glimpse of Cole's personal life. They just did it cause it's a thing in Film Noir movies.

I enjoyed the first half of the game and the second became a drag. It's a shame since the whole game has some great concepts.

Where the hell does Goldeneye get a lot of hate from? It's a top three title for the fifth generation of video game consoles. Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy 7, Goldeneye. Those are the defining titles of the era.

College (and high school and pro) bring in too much money to be beholden to laws or standards.

It doesn't help that a huge number of the fans out there don't care either and continue to support such organizations. Hardcore sports culture is one of the worst ones. Remember when people were more upset over Joe Paterno being (rightfully) trashed and Penn State's record over kids being sexually abused?
