I feel like it could go either way. I'm leaning toward thinking that he'll be re-elected.

I feel like most people who voted Trump will not drop their support of him no matter what so it's likely they'll vote for him again no matter what happens in the next two years

Pretty sure only 8 of the 45 presidents failed their re-election attempts. If he runs for a second term, chances are that he'll win it.

Way too early to tell. Need to see how the economy is in 2019, how the Russia thing concludes and who the dems run against him. But if the economy is doing reasonably well and the Russia thing goes nowhere, then Trump should be able to win it

I think it's a mistake to simply observe history and assess his chances based on what happened to past presidents. Why not consider more variables, like evidence overwhelmingly pointing in the direction of collusion, or just the fact that he's so fucked up in general? Lol.

No. He only won because of decreased turnout and his presidency has caused a surge in voter turnout.

I didn't say it's a definite thing, just that the odds are in his favor based on that. I mean, the most recent president to fail re-election was Bush Sr., and that was only like 25 years/4 presidents ago.

Question for Republicans as a non-American - does it seem like he'll want to?

He'll be 74, seems like he's obsessed with a positive media image and spends his time playing golf.

Will he actually WANT another 4 years of the most stressful job in the world, hate and the court cases he has going?

Honestly, if he said "I've made America great, time for me to step down etc etc" and didn't run again I wouldn't be shocked.

And then he could have that "well I'd win if I ran, look what happened in 2016, but I don't need to run" line. Whereas if he lost, he lost.

He could also say something like "there are things I can do for America with my business that I can't do as President, time for me to do that and have the Presidency go to (whoever he endorses to be his successor)"

I'm still thinking he'll run again but I could see this happening.

He will because too many people think he'd only be a 1 term president so he has to prove them wrong.

Honestly I think it depends on his opponent and the voter turnout. People didn't care for him or Clinton in 2016. Having less than half the country decide worked in his favor.

Yeah I think a higher voter turnout can doom him.

I would count on him getting all the same people that voted for him in 2016 (as I said before, Trump supporters never stop supporting him) but there are probably going to be a lot more anti-Trump people voting that didn't in 2016.

And I have a feeling that most anti-Trump or neutral people don't turn into Trump supporters easily. It's mostly his die hard supporters he can count on rather than winning new people over.

Solely depends on who the Democrats put up.

If Hilary wins the primary, Democrats deserve to lose. They need to put up someone who can rally the young people to vote.

Unquestionably he will not get re-elected. The only reason he won is because the DNC fucked everyone over by nominating Hilary, someone everybody on both sides hated. The lowest voter turnout in US history, solely because their choice was "Fat Nazi Asshole" and "Bitch who thinks it's her turn".
