Many. I'm from Los Angeles and lived in Japan.

7.3 is the biggest I remember (Landers quake 1992). Also a 6.7 (Northridge quake, 1994). Most are in the 5.0 - 6.0 range. Anything less than 5 isn't worth mentioning to a California native.

Bison is amazing in taste but it's motherfucking expensive. I was just looking for bison patties and I'm not paying $100 at whole foods for some burgers.

Costco has ground bison in a big fat tube (Costco-sized) for a reasonable price.

I'll take bison over beef anytime. It really is a shame the cattle industry got everyone in America hooked on beef. The native Americans had it right - Bison is tastier, healthier and better in every way.

When I want to treat myself I get a bison ribeye but yeah it's expensive.

El Pollo Loco Protip: If the chicken has been sitting on the grill a while, get dark meat because it will be less dry. If the place is busy & the chicken isn't sitting too long both white and dark meat will be juicy.

I'll add Juan Pollo to the "meth & pop" Mexican chicken joints. Same seasoning as El Pollo Loco chicken but they cook on a rotisserie. Also their rice comes mixed with bits of chicken mixed in. Juan Pollo is only in L.A. & San Bernardino county.

I've always wondered how Juan Pollo is able to sell chicken at a fraction of El Pollo Loco's prices.....

It's why there aren't a lot of national pizza chains in New Haven, CT & Providence, RI (went to college there).

Of the national/regional chains I think Jersey Mikes, especially done "Mikes Way" is the best overall.

Jimmy Johns is ok but I wouldn't say it's better than Jersey Mike's though.

Quizno's subs are too small for the price, to me.

I found Firehouse better than Subway but that's not saying much. Blimpie was also a bit better than Subway but lower than Firehouse IMO.

I used to have to start work early. I took it for a many years until I had to start BP medications 5 years ago. Doctor said it interferes with my blood pressure meds. When I took it, it didn't make me fall asleep any sooner but it made me sleep more deeply.

I've heard from someone I know that taking niacin supplements gives you vivid, intense dreams. Of course YMMV and I wouldn't take any supplement just for intense or weird dreams.

Taiwan's OK, but a bit small in comparison to Japan. Malaysia's OK too but it's a developing country. Each has their merits and demerits.

Taiwan was one of the hottest most humid places, which is saying a lot for east Asia. Malaysia has a ton of roving young prostitutes which is saying a lot for Southeast Asia.

"R&B" stands for "room & board". They have a laundry room and at least 1 member of the staff speaks English if you need that. Not touristy at all.

Do avoid APA Hotels. They can be cheap but they are Japanese right wing apologists. The rooms are stocked with books in English, Chinese & Japanese about how Japan was "wronged" in WWII and "noble" prior.

Also try fugu in Asakusa, Tokyo. It will be expensive and may make your whole body numb (it did to me) but it's tasty & you can say you did it.

They were in the process of moving Tsukiji when I was there 18 months ago don't know if they're finished. Also east end of Tokyo (Tsukiji, Koto, etc.) is more authentic Japanese than the rest of Tokyo.

Hipsters in japan look down on it as a result but as a foreigner you can get a once in a lifetime experience of "true" Tokyo. Like going to mid America. (I'm from L.A.)
