It's not propaganda. Turn based games were created because of hardware limitations that couldn't keep up unless it was staggered like such. Decades later, we either want improvement or for it to die.

No, they were created to simulate tabletop RPGs.

Exactly.

UBI is nothing more than an attempt to pacify the working class so they become more comfortable having their labor exploited.

It is better than not having it in a capitalist society, but ultimately it isn't compatible with socialism.

I don't agree with your rhetoric because I think capitalism is the best current system for providing the most people with the highest quality of life, but you are correct that nothing about a UBI is socialist. It is a form of welfare state capitalism. What is often termed the social safety net designed to provide the least well off with an acceptable standard of living.

but it won't do that

it's used to justify privatization of social services

You're not convincing me that's a bad thing, sorry.

personally, I would rather not see Canada's healthcare system, flawed as it is, become any more similar to the US's

I don't think you understand how any of the things you are talking about work.

According to this:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Canada

75% of the Canadian healthcare services are provided privately.

There are plenty of other series trying new things. There is no reason for Dragon Quest not to remain traditional. That is what the series does. I played 11 last year and enjoyed it because it didn't try to do anything other than be a good Dragon Quest game. If I want some experimental shit nothig like the previous entry I have Final Fantasy.

imo, supporting geoblocking is the same as supporting piracy, because that is what people are pushed to.

You have no choice but to support piracy then because every online streaming service is geoblocked. And for the record I oppose the concept of IP on the grounds of it being a form of artificial scarcity. I just think your argument is non-sensical since it isn't possible to have what you want. I mean if you oppose IP then this is a non-issue. But if you support IP then this is just some impossible dream unless we had universal IP laws that covered the entire planet.

if you as a company or content producer support anything like geoblocking, price screwing certain countries, etc, then you support piracy as well.

You seem to think they support it and not that the license holders require them to do it. Obviously they would prefer whatever gives them the most customers possible. That's like saying Steam supports geoblocking when in reality they just want people to buy the most stuff possible because that's how they make money.

I 100% agree the only thing they care about is money. But through their actions they support geoblocking, which is not ok.

I don't want to defend them because their product is shitty and they aren't trying to improve it (the player). But literally every streaming service supports geoblocking by your logic because they are legally obligated to do it by license holders. They can't not do it. I live in Japan, so basically nothing on Crunchyroll is watchable here. Do you think they want that to be the case? Of course not, but anime here is overpriced and they also stream on other services here so of course it is geoblocked. The license holders want those of us in Japan to pay for Japanese services. Crunchyroll has literally no say in this matter. If they refuse to geoblock the license holders will just go to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, whoever agrees to geoblock (which they all do, because again they have to or they don't get to show anything they don't own themselves).

This flower selling thing is also confusing. I am not aware of any kind of flower selling slang for prostitute. Usually you use for selling spring (spring respresents youth) to talk about prostitution. There is also which just means (female) prostitute. None of those have to do with flowers. No one ever says anything about selling flowers to mean prostitution that I am aware of. Though you can use a specific type of flower, the chrysanthemum as a slang for anal sex prostitution services.

If you value human life so little as to defend the USSR (even praising Stalin) and Maoist China you are hopelessly lost to a sick ideology. Plenty of socialists aren't bad people and I am happy to debate with them, you though are defending an ideology that is morally bankrupt and giving you serious responses would only validate your views.

Yeah you basically answered it for me. Socialists always go on about how capitalism is doomed to fail and "late stage capitalism" is making socialism inevitable etc. But then socialism is also apparently so fragile other countries can topple it no problem without even invading. And every major country that tried it either collapsed or reformed into capitalism with poverty, famine, and massive death tolls prior to collapse or reform.

Nothing about capitalism precludes a social safety net which is why many countries have one. It's not like we either have to seize the means of production and give it to the workers or we have to have no welfare state. They're entirely separate issues.

well there is the issue that capitalism, no matter how it's implemented, is still based on exploitation. Social Democracy is not sustainable, and the countries that use it are largely doing well now because they were already wealthy

The bigger issue is if a system of exploitation like capitalism benefits the average worker more than socialism, what becomes the more moral system? You can even take a Rawlsian approach and ask what is best for the people who are worst off in society and potentially still arrive at capitalism. Socialism doesn't have any current evidence backing it as a system that benefits the common man.

Random battles are awful. And that tradition ended with 9 and the version of 8 you are recommending. The wolf thing is way too minor. Never noticed name changes because I played in Japanese, but those changes sound more accurate to me.

The puzzles slowed down an already overly long start to the game. They needed to go. The sprites were nice, but the models look good too.
