I've never really bought into the whole virtual assistant thing. Google Assistant, Siri, Bixby - it doesn't matter what it is.

Though I've disabled the Bixby button and Bixby Home, I do utilize Bixby briefing in the stock clock app. She'll call out the time, temparature and select news articles when the alarm rings.

sometimes i think about avoiding places that don't accept apple pay entirely because of this. it's pretty easy to obtain the info on your magnetic strip, i guess criminals install these at gas pumps and atms pretty frequently and they look really legitimate. i haven't even encountered a gas pump that takes the chip yet.

Pretty much what I do in that I pay for everything I can with my watch (Samsung Pay). It's both for convenience and added security since my card info isn't actually transmitted to the terminal when I make a purchase.

Indeed, when I check my receipts, the card number is totally different from the real one.

I'm intrigued by the S10+. Supposedly with a 6.4" screen, ultrasonic FOD, triple cameras, etc.

Still enjoying my S8+ though, so I'm not looking to upgrade anytime soon.

Can't speak to the HTC phone but like I said, my GS8+ is 8 months old and mint. Never experienced any of this slowdown and stuttering people keep talking about.

All phones start stuttering after a while but mine hasn't gotten the memo yet. May also depend on how you use it and what you install on it.

Samsung Pay is the best mobile payment system.

Google Pay (and Apple Pay) only work on NFC enabled terminals. Samsung Pay uses NFC and MST, which allows it to work on virtually any terminal that accepts credit cards. Even that rinky dink terminal at a gas station in Nowheresville, Kansas.

Even more, Samsung Pay has a rewards system that allows you to accrue points each time you use it (like a credit card).

I haven't used Chrome in months so maybe it's now caught up to the Samsung browser. It offers:

Night mode
Reader mode
Biometric logins using Samsung Pass
Uses less RAM
More battery efficient
Faster (in my experience)
Can be used in ultra power saving mode

I'll get a flash pass/quick pass whenever I can. Waiting 3 hours for Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom wasn't fun.

We got a quick pass for Universal Orlando and it was totally worth it. Got through literally everything in less than a day with multiple breaks in between.

Any android is far more likely to have battery issues and slowdowns than an iphone. I say this as a note 8 owner.

8 months into my S8+ and I still get 2 days of battery life. Minimal if any stutters, my apps don't crash, etc. Of course, I don't root, game, or do any of that other nonsense on it.

And having the best mobile camera in 2018 is like being the fastest supercar. Does those 0.2 seconds really make a difference?

Doesn't say anything at all about the actual security of Secure Folder or anything you might put into the encrypted container, which uses the Knox platform and is DOD/NSA certified.

If someone has access to your email, that isn't Samsung's fault. You can mitigate this to a degree by changing the name of the folder, changing the app icon, or hiding the app altogether.

Chase Sapphire Preferred. $95 annual fee that is waived the first year. I met the sign-on bonus awarding me a free 50,000 points, which translates to $500. That alone covers the annual fee for 5 years.

$10, $100, $1000 - it doesn't matter. I put that on my card, pay it off on time, and never get hit with any fees. In the 2 years I've had it, I've never paid a cent in interest - all the while, I have 100,000+ points sitting in my bank.

Had those purchases been paid in cash, I'd have zero (0) points in my Chase bank.

I like the camera on my S8+. Fiance has an iPhone 7 Plus and her brother has a X, so I often compare. My pics always come out better than theirs, but I think I'm just more adept at taking shots.

I also use the native Link Sharing to send my pictures/videos to my contacts. That way, they retain their native, uncompressed resolution as opposed to sending via text or email.

At the bare minimum, I would call up the restaurant and demand to speak with a manager.

Similar thing happened to me some months ago when I returned a rental car. I filled the gas tank up right before I dropped it off, however after some days I saw a charge on my credit card for the amount of what I thought was a full tank of gas (the tank was just under 50% full when I topped it off).

Luckily I had my receipt, so I called them up and demanded they remove the charge on my card (they did).
