Get Up wasn't the original plan. Greenberg, from what I read, was supposed to get his own in the morning by himself. I guess that plan didn't track well, so they added Beadle, and eventually Rose.

Although, Golic & Wingo isn't that great itself. They go off track too often, and ever since the show started, if it's not football season, they are barely there together. Adding Golic Jr for the first half of the show made things even less listenable.

While the sentiment is appreciated, Aliens is not just "an action movie." There's a deep story there about motherhood, for both species.

Example: In the scene where she goes back to recover Newt from the Queen's nest. Ripley knows the whole site is about to go nuclear, and could've easily walked out of the nest with the satisfaction that the xeno's and their Queen Mother were about to be dust. Instead, she wanted the Queen to feel what she felt since Ripley's family was lost and her chance to be a mother dead while she was drifting in hypersleep. Ripley gets a second chance with Newt, which was worth risking the remaining survivor's lives and her own, and the catharsis of slaughtering the xeno eggs.

Has anyone actually analyzed the phenomena of absentee fathers & their relation to individuals who despise or have a lack of respect to authority? I can only key in on my own experiences, but just about every guy I knew who's Dad wasn't around always gave s*** to teachers, cops, managers, etc. For women, they almost always acted out sexually, teenage pregnancy, or worse.

I just watched the first two episodes of Parks & Rec and I didn't think it was that funny, Amy's character pretty obviously seemed like she was supposed to be a female version of Michael Scott except less funny. Does she get better?

I'll keep watching, but mainly because Rashida Jones is so damn fine, is she a normal character in the show?

She is, for sure.

I didn't put Parks & Rec in my Top 5 because Knope's act can grate on you and Aziz Ansari/Aubrey Plaza get dry around Season 3. Luckily, Ron Swanson carries the show and the arrivals of Rob Lowe & Ben boost the show. Pratt is on with his humor in some episodes, and some you forget he's even there.

Show definitely needed more Jean Ralphio, though. He was the diamond in the rough.

While I agree, I don't see the problem with having privilege. Someday I want my children to take what I've setup for them and build on it exponentially. It's not a coincidence that most of the worst seasons of MCU shows focus on The Hand/Madame Gao as the primary antagonists. Once that gets phased out, the shows should breathe better.

I got nothing for Jessica Jones Season 2, though. That was just abysmal.

It is odd seeing Widow and Hawkeye bare-knuckle it against cyborgs or beings from another galaxy.

Luke Cage season one should be split into two parts, IMO.

first half is up there with the best, and the second half is down there with the worst.

Ironically, it's the other way around for Season 2.
