An object that appears white has reflected all colors of light into your eyes. Something black has absorbed all the light.

Something that's green has absorbed all wavelengths of light except those within the green part of the light spectrum, which it's reflecting into your eyes.

Already talked to the ad folks a few times this week and mentioned that the number of mobile complaints is on the rise again. Considering no one's actually using the Report Ad link at the bottom of the site, there is basically nothing to work with aside from anecdotes.

Yes, I realize that if an ad were to redirect you then you wouldn't be able to click it, but you also have to realize that these things are nearly impossible to reproduce without being able to see patterns in os/browser/location/etc. If you can actually use the Report Ad link, it's even better because we capture all of the ads that were loaded for you when you click it, which often means we have the exact ad identified and can very quickly remove it.

I know a lot of people here like to talk about how it's just a super rampant problem and how it makes no sense that we can't find and stop it, but that isn't how malicious advertising works. I would direct you to this write up I did back in January: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/6-gamefaqs-announcements/76171603

Finally, I suppose it's worth stating that this is just as frustrating for me as it is for you. Without advertising, there isn't a GameFAQs, but they certainly are not supposed to be disrupting the user experience and we as a company do take these things very seriously. I have gone so far as to completely pull down advertising on the site when it has affected too many people and would have no qualms doing it again if it gets that far, but I don't have enough data to make a call that drastic right now. All I can do is urge everyone to use the Report Ad link. You can even just take a screenshot of the page you get redirected to and send us that. Anything to work with is better than nothing and we currently have zero reports filled out about redirects.

I took screenshots of the ads I was seeing and posted them to a topic here, but I can't find the topic in my archived messages since CE doesn't seem to be listed there.

Scott Davis of Forbes credited the film's commercial success to its marketing aimed at both sexes, and to the success of its soundtrack.[272]

The commercial success of Frozen in Japan was considered to be a "phenomenon"[58] which received widespread media coverage. Released in that market as Anna and the Snow Queen,[273][274] the film increased its gross each week in its three first weeks of release, and only started to drop in the fourth; while other films usually peak in the opening week and decline in the latter ones.[275] Frozen has received over 7 million admissions in Japan as of April 16,[273] and nearly 18.7 million admissions as of June 23.[276] Many cinemagoers were reported to have watched both the original and the Japanese-dubbed version.[274] Japan Today also reported that the local dubbed version was "particularly popular" in the country.[273] Gavin J. Blair of The Hollywood Reporter commented on the film's earnings in Japan: "Even after its $9.6 million (986.4 million) three-day opening, a record bow for a Disney animation in Japan, few would have predicted the kind of numbers Frozen has now racked up."[276] Disney's head of distribution Dave Hollis said in an interview that "It's become very clear that the themes and emotions of Frozen transcend geography, but what's going on in Japan is extraordinary."[277][278]

"Frozen's success doesn't benefit from a general appetite for American films in Japan" (as reported by the International Business Times),[279] but according to Akira Lippit of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, there were several factors that constituted this phenomenon: besides the fact that animated films "are held in great regard in Japan, and the Disney brand name with all of its heritage is extremely valuable", "the biggest reason is the primary audience ... 13- to 17-year-old teenage girls."[277] He further explained that audiences of this age range have a vital role in shaping Japanese pop culture and "Frozen has so many elements that appeal to them, with its story of a young girl with power and mystique, who finds her own sort of good in herself."[277] He compared the film's current situation with a similar phenomenon which occurred with Titanic in 1997, "when millions of Japanese teen girls turned out to watch Leonard[o] DiCaprio go under several times," and thought the same would happen with Frozen.[277] Another reason that contributed to the film's success in the market was that Disney took great care in choosing "high quality"[279] voice actors for the Japanese-dubbed version, since Japan's pop music scene had an important role particularly with teenage audiences.[277] Orika Hiromura, Disney Japan's marketing project leader for Frozen, said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal: "We really put effort into finding actors who could not only play the role but also belt out the tunes as well. We found the perfect match in Takako Matsu and Sayaka Kanda, and they really added a whole new dimension to the storytelling."[168]

When asked about the success of Frozen, director Chris Buck stated: "We never expected anything like this. We just hoped to make a movie that did as well as Tangled! I hoped the audience would embrace it and respond to it, but there's no way we could have predicted this."[58] He cited a number of reasons for the film's popularity: "There are characters that people relate to; the songs are so strong and memorable. We also have some flawed characters, which is what Jen[nifer Lee] and I like to do we essentially create two imperfect princesses."[58] As Frozen approached the first anniversary of its release, Menzel mentioned the film's continuing popularity in an October 2014 interview: "It's just a remarkable thing. Usually you do a project and it has its moment. This just feels like it keeps going."[280]

They're both good but I definitely prefer Frozen. Frozen's main song "Let it Go" is also more memorable than Moana's. Also, Moana is fairly by-the-books when it comes to its plot, compared to Frozen.

Here's what Wikipedia says, though:

When Frozen became a box office success, Bilge Ebiri of Vulture analyzed the film's elements and suggested eight factors that might have led to its success. He thought Frozen managed to capture the classic Disney spirit of the Disney Renaissance films and early classics such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella.[271] He also wrote that the film has Olaf, a "wisecracking, irreverent" sidekick with mild humor which is "a requirement of modern animated kids' movies," and its "witty, catchy" songs were "pretty good."[271] Furthermore, Ebiri noted that Frozen was a "revisionist" film that didn't "have a typical villain"; Elsa, the person who should be the villain didn't turn out to be a villain, but "a girl who's having trouble." She was the one who "[created] most of the challenges [for] the film's more typical heroes Princess Anna."[271] The story of two sisters who were separated as they grew up held real-life overtones for many audience members who had siblings, and the struggle of Elsa to overcome the shame and fear of her powers was also relatable.[271] Finally, he identified several factors which he believed attracted female audiences: two strong female characters; a twist on the usual romantic subplot, when the traditional "Prince Charming" Hans turned out to be a gold-digging villain; and the "act of true love" which saved Anna was her own sacrifice in saving Elsa.[271]

water and hair, man

That's true, they have done some great things with certain effects when it comes to replicating realistic water, subsurface scattering in skin, hair, and more. But I'm thinking more about the general art style. Recently we've seen movies like

Peanuts movie

Lego movie

I saw some really cool animation styles made by a sort of avant garde animator a few years ago and I wish I could find them again, they were really cool. When you compare these movies with what Disney and Pixar put out, you can tell that Disney movies all really look pretty similar to each other by comparison. And while I'm not totally in love with all of these movies' visuals, I do really like the variety they offer in the animation landscape. And I wish Disney would explore different styles a bit more since they are the biggest animation company in the world.

Here's a short Disney made with a program called Meander:

With their resources, they could make a truly beautiful and visually refreshing/innovative movie whose technical and artistic merits go beyond just making more realistic water and hair.

Instead of making more Moana-style animation, they should try something else, like they did for the Paperman short.

The other day this old lady asked me if I was fighting the legendary raid with them and I was like "wasn't planning to unless you need me" lol. Literally everything from 5 year olds to 80 year olds just in my neighborhood. Most are 25-40 tho. Being as I like people in general I find it beautiful something is bringing all these random people who would of never communicated before together.

That's what many people don't realize. The social aspect of raiding has brought together people from so many backgrounds and age groups. You can't say that about any other game.

I know a guy in his late 60's who plays Pokemon Go 8-12 hours a day and I bet he's healthier than most guys on CE. He would get together with other retirees and go on early morning raids and take down gyms. They get their daily morning exercise, they socialize and they become part of a community that only exist because of the game.

That's so cool!

Really wanna see that source that ecto morphs have higher levels of myostatin... you can't just make a claim like that and not post your source lol.

I could really get into it but it is lack of food 90% of the time.

Coming from someone who's 6'2 210lbs at single digit bf%.... started at 160lbs skinny fat.

Lack of food and lack of effort in the gym. I've known tons of dudes who drastically overestimated how much they ate and also, while they hit the gym 4 times a week, they weren't pushing at all.

Just going and going through the motions isn't gonna get a lot of results and a lot of people convince themselves they're doing a lot more than they are. If you really push you can see a noticeable difference in 3 or 4 months. Especial with beginner gains.

Spot on. Many people lift using wrong form and a lot of food is 4 eggs in the morning and most of a chipotle burrito for lunch lol. But agree with everything you said.

Pow Pow Punishment posted...
I have literally never seen anybody say this. The truth has always been that ectomorphs have it harder but it doesn't mean you cannot get big and strong. Too many skinny people don't know what it means to eat a lot.

Also this. There's something to be said for genetics and differences but genetics won't come into play unless you're competing and differences between people aren't exactly significant. It's the same basics with minor adjustments.

Tempted to post pics from ecto people I've trained and myself, but trying to be modest lol.

If you arent seeing much after 2 years.... well.... you're doing it wrong. Heavy is also relative. I lift relatively light...

Still wanna see that study tho.

Post some pics, don't be modest.

I mostly agree with cosmic diabetic

I got buff with thin wrists also. I can also fit my pinky finger and thumb around my wrist.

I think generally, people who complain they've stagnated despite working out for years have been doing something wrong. Bad form or haven't been eating enough or pushing hard enough or going consistently enough.

But I also recognize that there is for sure a genetic element. Some people have more fast-twitch muscle fibers than others, based on their DNA, and it affects your propensity for bursts of strength. And some people have more myostatin inhibition than others. Muscular dystrophy exists, as do belgian blue cows. But unless you have muscular dystrophy, I think you can get buff if you work hard enough and properly.

One of my friends who has always had horrible form got tired of not growing after a year of working out and just straight up resorted to taking steroids (he really wants to be buff). Now he just looks bigger and puffier, and not in a good way. His form is still bad and he barely lowers the bar in exercises like squats and bench press. It's funny, I've asked him why he doesn't lower it further, and for each exercise he claims it would hurt a body part (his shoulders, his knees, and more).

Now he goes with a friend who knows what he's doing and I'm hoping he takes his friend's advice and starts using good form instead of hoping steroids will do the work for him. Though he says he's fine with being big and puffy. So IDK.

No, they don't. That's what fur is for. If they couldn't survive without a man-made item of clothing during the winter the breed would not exist as it would have frozen to death long ago.

This is false and you clearly don't know what you're talking about. You're just talking from your ego at this point and displaying your stupidity, because you want to whine about what you incorrectly think is pointless vapid fashion.

Greyhounds have very little hair, no undercoat, and very thin skin. They can't deal with much cold (or heat) and require protection.

I want to hug her and be her friend. Her reactions to the questions near the end made me feel really sad.
