Starting the first episode of season 3. Old Cooper threw me for a loop with his appearance alone.

There is a lot to like in S3, even with some major flaws.

1-0 US at the half.

That does sound bad, but I don't know if you can blame him personally. Lots of people party and don't go home and do a murder-suicide.

They scored right after the poll went up. They not out of the woods yet though. 6 minutes left in the first half, then we got a whole second half to get through. But that goal does make one rethink the poll.

Well shit, US just scored the first goal just now, 37 minutes in.

PS: USA didn't even qualify for the World Cup this year.

It's different from one device to the other though.

It's terrible on my tv and ps4. It's slightly less terrible on android, but in every instance it's clunky to find multiple seasons of things, browse in general or easily filter out things that aren't included in Prime.

Hulu has always been better than Netflix. Only thing Netflix excels at is their originals. Just resub when they get a new batch you want to watch and then cancel it

Yeah I think that's what they want. I think they envision Netflix as place to go to to just watch Netflix productions.
And man, they lay on heavy with stand up comedy specials. I bet anyone could get a gig doing Netflix stand up.

If have access to it, make sure to watch the "missing pieces" which are deleted scenes of the movie. Don't worry if little of the movie like Bowie's character makes any sense. It will later on.

It would have been great if he was still around to do it. But hell, they thought enough about his character so much that they still laid into in S3 The Return.

I'm only about forty minutes into season 2's first episode. Maybe it's because I've seen it criticized so much, but it does seem like it's trying a bit too hard.

Like I've rolled my eyes at everything Andy's done in this episode so far.

Well, that's another thing peculiar about TP. The S1 is 7 episodes and S2 is like 23 episodes. Those two seasons don't split in half like they ought to.

Yeah, the finale was intense. I think I would have enjoyed it less if that was the definitive Finale. There's just so many questions and mysteries left and created in that final episode. I wonder what it was like to be a fan of the series as it aired.

I think S2 finale is one of the best tv episodes ever.

Probably is true. When I first started coming here in 2002 there were a couple of people over 50. This one guy, I don't remember his handle exactly, pink something, he was definitely in his 50s and was dying of a terminal disease.

Netflix is starting to lose its shine. I mean when Hulu starts beating you, and Amazon, sheeesh.

Good question. This is when I had my first near-death experience. I went to the beach with a group of friends. They were saying if you swim out far enough from the shore that eventually you could stand up on a sandbar. So some of us went for it. Long story short, there weren't no sandbar. So I was already far out, in jeans still, exhausted and no where to stand. I tried to swim to the shore but the tide kept pulling me back. I noticed I was going further back than I was swimming forward. That's when I thought I was going to die. Everyone else turned back way before I did. But every time the current pulled me back, my brain changed because I couldn't imagine having the strength to beat the current. I got frightened. Then a voice in my head told me "this is it, I'm going to die today". Then my life literally flashed before my eyes, like I could see all my life at once. Then I began to make peace with it. I yelled for help and they said try to stand up. I tried and felt a little sand barely beneath my toes, but it gave me a surge in hope. So I kept going. And finally, by the grace of God, I was out of the current. The experience changed my outlook on life and death forever.

I've never understood this.

I can't make myself choose to believe stuff. My beliefs are the result of logical deductions, not choices that make me feel better. I couldn't do it even if I wanted to.

I think he's trying to say that he was compelled or convinced to believe in God through his experiences.

This is really stupid, but I'll share a story. I was raised Christian and never questioned it when I was a kid. I went to Sunday School. I went to church all that. Every day I would pay to a statue of God on the top shelf of our living room. I had no clue what wasn't a thing....

When I brought it up to my Mom once she was very confused saying that there are no statues of God. I told her that's not true, that she had one. It turns out it was actually a statue of Mozart.

I literally stopped believing in God when told that no one knows what he looks like.

I think season 1 is overrated, half of season 2 is some of the worst television I've ever forced myself to sit through (and that includes the villain), FWWM is amazing and gets better every time, and The Return is god's gift to television. </hyperbole>
