Mainstream being Dragon Quest, Zelda, Mario and other big-name franchises. Here's a small summary of each:

Monster Party: A platformer where you are a boy who can turn into a gargoyle after eating pills/drugs. The novelty of the game is the bosses and the fact it was one of, if not, the goriest NES game. Bosses included tempura shrimp, a cat that threw dead kittens, and a well that throws dishes. Despite being made in Japan, he game was never released in Japan for being too weird.

Rygar: A platformer where you are a warrior who uses a chain shield as a weapon. The game left you with quite a bit to explore and find on your own. It granted you new abilities after beating bosses, as well as self-powering options for the diskarmor and more. The bosses would shoot out spicy fishsticks, which was always amusing to me.

Robo Warrior: An overhead progression game where you find items under scrubs and behind mountains to progress the level with. Your robot runs on battery power and his life drains the longer you go without recharging him. Many levels cycle the map endlessly until you find a chalice under the shrubs. Some levels are pitch black and require finding a candle or lantern. Others require rafts to get by rivers.

Yume Penguin Monogatari: You are a fat penguin whose girlfriend left him because he is fat. You have to get through platformer levels before the time runs out at a small weight as enemies don't kill you, they feed you.

Binary Land: A puzzle game with a boy and girl penguin. You control both with the same controls to make them meet for a kiss. Simple, but it was too cute to me. >_>

Sweet Home: A JRPG survival horror game, mixed with an "escape the room" element in a sense. You control 5 people and you have to utilize their abilities to get through obstacles in a manor. One with a camera, another with a vacuum, and more. Battles occur as a standard turnbased RPG.

Star Tropics: This game was practically a really good Zelda clone. You traverse dungeons upon entering from an overworld map. The game was more story-driven however. The second incorporated diagonal movements as well, making it more challenging, but more fun.

The Guardian Legend: This is like Zelda meets Xevious or something. You would explore a dungeon and gain weapons and upgrades. Eventually, you would be thrown into levels where your characters, Alyssa, turns into a fighter jet and does up-facing battles in space. Upon clearing the level, you are returned to the map to explore the next area in the dungeon. (My profile picture is of this game.)

Little Samson: Kind of seems to be based on A Journey To The West. You play as four changable characters who do different abilities to progress you through the levels.

Tiny Toon Adventures: This was a platformer game based on the cartoon. You could switch between Buster, Plunky and I believe Furball. Not much to say other than that it was fun. Loved the levels where you have to evade Elmyra. If nothing else, those parts would stick to my memories the most. Just a nice, fluid platformer.

In what is believed to be a first in Japan, a prestigious national womens university officially announced Tuesday its new policy to open doors from 2020 to people who were assigned as male at birth but identify as female, saying its a natural decision that takes gender diversity into account.

The landmark move by Ochanomizu University is expected to accelerate national discussions regarding admissions at other women universities, which currently limit enrollment to those listed as women on their family registry.

We want to accept people who sincerely wish to study at Ochanomizu University. Its a natural thing to do in a society that embraces diversity, President Kimiko Murofushi said during a news conference held at the university, which is located in Tokyo.

Ochanomizu which was established in 1875 as the nations first higher education institution for women said it will change its admission criteria on gender to include those listed as men on their family registry but who identify as female, Murofushi said.

The university will launch a working group soon that will work toward making the campus transgender-friendly, discussing matters such as the facilities necessary and support needed for students to lead comfortable lives on campus.

We hope this move will lead to realizing a society where diverse women can participate in every field and fully exercise their abilities and individuality, Murofushi said.

Ochanomizu launched a committee last year to discuss its policy on transgender students, after it received an inquiry from a person who was born male but identifies as female. She said the school was the only institution that offered the coursework she wanted to pursue.

After the committee decided to open the universitys doors to transgender individuals, Ochanomizu held a number of meetings to explain the planned admission policy changes to students, their parents, staff and graduates. So far, it has received no negative response from them, Murofushi said.

Apart from Ochanomizu, Tsuda University and Japan Womens University also told The Japan Times last year that they were discussing whether to change their admission policy to accept transgender students, saying they felt it was about time they thought about broadening their definition of women at a time when society is starting to accommodate the needs of sexual minorities.

Similar discussions about whether to admit transgender women have taken place in the United States in recent years. Since 2014, the so-called Seven Sisters womens colleges a consortium of prestigious colleges on the East Coast changed their admission policies to allow the enrollment of transgender women.

According to an education ministry survey released in 2014, Japanese elementary, junior high and high schools had recognized 606 students experiencing gender dysphoria, defined as conflict between ones assigned gender and that with which one identifies. The survey results prompted the ministry to urge schools to appropriately deal with the students, through steps such as allowing them to wear school uniforms that allow them to feel comfortable.

Yes on 3 upholds the protections.

Really that's just confusing. This is why I don't vote outside General Elections :(

I know. The way they are doing it is confusing. It should say "Revoke protections for trans people? Yes or no." My friend who leads the mass trans movement said yes on 3. So it is yes on 3.

Definitely yes on #3 as presented. No strong opinion of the others at this time.

1 would be good because I don't like the idea of having one nurse being stationed to say, 10 people because the hospital would be against getting new help. A limit could aid in bringing in more health-based jobs as well. I don't see it as a bad thing.

2 would be good because it would gove more power to the people and less to the corporations trying to throw funds and ads for "their" choice candidates.

Question 1: Patient-to-Nurse Limits
Question 1 would place a limit on the number of patients a single nurse can be assigned at a time and impose a $25,000 fine on hospitals that violate those ratios.

The exact ratios would vary depending on the hospital department and the type of patients for which the nurse is caring. For example, the maximum number of patients a nurse could be assigned in the pediatric department would be four, while the limit in the emergency services department would range between one and five, depending on the seriousness of the patients conditions.

As WGBH recently reported, nurses unions say the initiative, if passed, would result in increased safety and better overall outcomes for patients, while the hospital industry says it could result in longer wait times and even the closing of some hospitals.

Question 2: Commission on Limiting Election Spending and Corporate Rights
Question 2 would create a citizen commission to push a constitutional amendment to overturn the Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court decision on campaign finance.

Critics say the controversial ruling, which held that the government could not restrict political spending by corporations, increased the undue influence of money in politics and is a serious and direct threat to our democracy.

If passed, Massachusettss top elected officials would appoint members to the 15-person commission, which would go on to research the current campaign finance system and recommend an amendment to overturn Citizens United.

Question 3: Transgender Anti-Discrimination
Question 3 proposes to repeal the 2016 state law that banned discrimination against transgender people in places of public accommodation, such as restaurants, malls, and restrooms. Polls have shown that it could be the most competitive measure on the ballot.

The groups backing the initiative say the public accommodations bill is broadly worded and allows individuals to access bathrooms or locker rooms of the opposite sex. Supporters of the 2016 law say there isnt one incident of assault or invasion of privacy that has occurred as a result of the law.

Due to potential confusion due to the required wording of the referendum, Galvin noted that a yes vote on Question 3 would actually keep in place the current law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of gender identity in public places. Meanwhile, a no vote would repeal that part of the law.
