Right that's why I don't necessarily agree. In the context of people nominated for this list, I probably wouldn't. Even the aforementioned Steve Blackman had some entertaining aspects to him I think. I more think the bad ones are underrated than the mediocre ones are overrated-- probably, anyway. I guess we'll see if any total snoozers I missed glancing through the list pop up but yeah.

Well, I don't necessarily agree bad wrestlers are better than mediocre ones, but I would rather have a wrestler who is good at something (and most of the bad ones who would receive nominations in a thing like this are good at something otherwise no one would care to nominate them) even if it's an overall inferior package over a wrestler who is generally boring but lacks the glaring flaws.

Like Boogeyman may be the worst wrestler I've ever seen in WWE that had a sustained run but I'll take him every day of the week over one of the Naturals. But it's not because he's worse in of itself-- it's because he's actually good at charisma and his character to the point where people like him in spite of stinking up the ring so bad.

I think you're underrating Glacier's in ring potential a good amount. It's really really hard to be any good when the highest caliber opponent you're facing in a non squash is Mortis, and 90% of your matches are squashes one way or the other.

Nothing against Kanyon but yeah he's not exactly the type of guy to bring out the best of a guy. I'd love to have seen a Glacier vs Bret Hart match that got time.

That's not to say "can be carried" is a ringing endorsement but I just feel like if you had booked Glacier against the same guys and in the same way as Steve Blackman there'd be less of a difference in their in-ring ability.

Also some of his Thunder era promos were at least passable

1/3 Master SSB

So overall I got

Good but never would draw for:
Auron USB
Tellah BSB
Luneth BSB
Bartz BSB

Vaguely useful:
Tifa LM (Tifa is ok but don't have much for her and LM is weak)
Larsa SSB (for Cid Missions and Torments I can see using it)

Stat stick tier:
Rydia USB dupe
Rinoa OSB (6* but only boosts earth in FFVIII)
Ysh LM dupe
Celes BSB dupe
Firion SSB
Master SSB (thin enough on this realm it's useful)
Gladiolus LM

Garbage:
Zidane SSB
Hope SSB
Curillia SSB

I'd take that Warrior of Light Chain for my whole lot for sure, but this is basically "bad draw" tier. Not happy with it but at least I got 4 good items and some stat sticks

Torrie is actually kinda underrated I think. She was actually a pretty good talker and had legit charisma as you said. And the longer we go from her time the more valuable that appears-- even though like, in that era she was kinda overshadowed by Trish Stratus who was kinda passable in the ring and could also talk.

She was bad in the ring but like, I'll take her over Michelle McCool or Kelly Kelly any day of the week even if I guess you could technically make an argument McCool at least is a slightly better worker. I actually found myself sorta rooting for her in the women's royal rumble.

For the flipside of davidponte...

I'm inclined to agree with that sentiment of not caring about whether something was 'worked for' but with the caveat that I don't consider following a sports team 'work' to begin with. If a team I like loses I just move on with my day. I don't exactly suffer through losses or anything. Like to me it's not about whether there was 'work' in obtaining a victory as much as whether it was unexpected. There's just a lot more thrill in an upset.

To put it over to Wrestling since I know we have common ground on it-- Chris Jericho's Undisputed Title win may have been my favorite title win ever because I mean, he literally did beat Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night for it. But I mean, I like him but it's not like he's my favorite wrestler or anything.

But obviously there was no "hard work" there that's just how the booking was. But it felt more satisfying in the moment because looking at the bracket I can't honestly say i felt like Chris Jericho had any chance to win-- he probably would've been my #4 pick behind even Kurt Angle.

Well if the Giants were any indication I can confirm it won't.

Like uh, Giants beating the Patriots in 2008 when they were massive underdogs vs the unstoppable 16-0 Patriots was a lot more satisfying than beating them 4 years later when the match was a bit more of a toss-up. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed both victories, but they didn't feel exactly the same in the moment-- though 2008 was punctuated by having an amazing game winning play late which I don't believe 2012 had I was definitely a lot more into the game as a whole in 2008. It's not as though either game wasn't close either.

Some people just get something extra out of overcoming adversity. It probably doesn't apply to everyone, and I guess it doesn't apply to you, but that doesn't mean it's a fabrication by people who like losing teams either.

As a fairly long time Cubs fan I definitely disagree with this. Nothing in sports will likely ever compare to that World Series win for me. And I have contrasting teams in other sports-- I mean the Giants wins are great and overall I prefer the Giants to the Cubs, but yeah.

Just watched the Ultimate Deletion last night

It was... okay I guess. It basically felt like WWE's take on a Broken Hardy thing-- which don't get me wrong is a downgrade but I can at least appreciate the effort over what they were doing with Hardy previously.

Either way hopefully this causes actual character evolution for Wyatt. He's been so bad for so long.

Putting aside whether being a bandwagoner is okay and whether sports fans are too elitist with that kinda stuff, I don't even think this counts. Trying to get into a sport now that your city has a team at all seems way different to me than trying to get into a sport because your city has a winning team.

Loved Hassan at his best-- rough string of entries here! Ultimately I can't disagree with the write-up though.

What I'm seeing here is that you weigh the blunders a lot higher than I do (or like more of the list than I do)-- I tend to take a wrestler at their peak form and then put it as WWE's bad when they get botched. Like I'd have Hassan high cause when he debuted it was a really unique and good heel character. Best heels are ultimately right in what they're saying in a lot of ways but wrong in the way they're presenting it-- but I mean, yeah, it's hard to deny that his character became cringey to watch when he became generic evil foreigner. Particularly because well, it was like, literally the opposite of what his character was fighting for initially.

I actually really like that this game is not demanding with my time. I can go for days without playing it, just collecting the login bonus. And then I can get a lot of play out of my system at once when there's actually content worth farming in play because of the abundance of apples.

It's nice to have a mobile game that isn't needy. Kinda the same reason I've stuck with Fire Emblem Heroes.

Also technically I still have a ton of content I CAN do with all the free quest and interlude quartz on the table, but there's no rush to do it.

Sounds right

In any case I think the character had a lot of potential as a midcard gimmick that was self aware of the fact that it was ridiculous-- it just took WCW till early 1999 to realize this. That was probably about 2 years too late.

Oh yeah also in that time of Thunder leading up to the sale (or maybe after he got it back), you had like a few weeks of Glacier just like, totally hamming up his entrance, taking literal minutes with it before beginning the match. I believe once he did his entrance, gave high fives to people around the ring as his opponent patiently awaited a match, then went to the backstage area and didn't even begin the match. I think he also once just randomly restarted his entrance during a match and lost by count out.

This is all kinda hazy-- totally going to watch some Thunder once it's all on the Network.

Aw poor Glacier. I think he was a bit more capable in the ring than he appeared-- he was just always put against jobbers or other "martial arts" workers who he couldn't learn anything from. Dude still wrestles occasionally though. He's been on CHIKARA and he was on RoH last year! Of all WCW guys he owns the rights to his gimmick, somehow. I guess WWE didn't want it, or something.

Also Glacier totally had character evolution it just all took place on Thunder.

He eventually came upon hard times financially (back when the winner's purse was a thing I guess?) and sold his gear and entrance to Kaz Hayashi in one of my favorite WCW midcarder storylines.

He got it back at some point but I don't remember how.

I can't really argue with that one at last either.

Though I kinda like it ironically.

Least favorite theme is Stephanie McMahon's current theme (and "All Grown Up" might be number 2). Probably contributes a pretty large portion of why she gets quite so much change the channel heat from me. It's not only awful sounding, but also conveys a message of 'Stephanie is cool' which is not at all what the character should be.
