I've played some of the "legendary bad games", like ET and Shaq Fu and while neither are anywhere close to good, I also didn't find them as bad as expected, maybe because I went in with low expectations. There are plenty of other lacklustre games that have crossed my path, but none of them immediately stick in my mind, maybe because if a game is really bad I usually stop playing it before its impression can really settle in on me. The only game that immediately surfaces when I think "awful game" is Sonic and the Secret Rings, which - for some reason - I played through start to finish despite it having a terrible soundtrack, an awful plot (even by Sonic standards), and some of the worst controls I've ever had to suffer through. --- Kill 1 man: You are a murderer. Personally I prefer the languages that more strictly delineate formal and informal, because it's easy to learn and you can pretty quickly switch between the two as the situation dictates. We never fucking stick to our grammatical rules, and those can be pretty arbitrary to start with. Sure, our conjugation is simpler than most languages, but it's also seemingly random and doesn't follow many set rules. For instance, if you're converting something to past tense: "To play" conjugates as "Played" "To watch" conjugates as "Watched" "To pass" conjugates as "Passed" English Student: "Hey, this is easy! You just take the root form of the verb and add "-ed!" "To run" conjugates as "Ran" "To swim" conjugates as "Swam" "To sing" conjugates as "Sang" English Student: "Uh... OK, and sometimes you change the vowel to an 'a'? I guess?" "To eat" conjugates as "Ate" "To speak" conjugates as "Spoke" "To hang" conjugates as "Hung", unless it's the execution method in which case it's "Hanged" "To kneel" conjugates as "Knelt" "To do" conjugates as "Did" "To see" conjugates as "Saw" English Student: "....OK, now you're just straight-up fucking with me." Contrast this to something like Japanese, which is remarkably clean with its grammatical rules. There are just two categories of verbs and all verbs in each category conjugate the same way (and there are only two "exception" verbs - to come and to do - that do not fit in either category and make up their own rules). And our spelling! My God! Silent letters ("kneel", "align", and what the fuck were we thinking when we came up with "paradigm"?), ending e's modifying vowel sounds except when they don't, seemingly arbitrary letter orderings, different spellings depending on what English-speaking country you're in. It's awful! And that's not getting into the fact that advanced English is half-Latin. You know what they call the guy who looks after your eyes in Germany? An Augenarzt - literally "eye doctor". Hey, that makes sense! What do we call them here in Englishland? An optometrist. Fucking what? They can find out whether voters in the house are registered as Republican or Democrat, and they can also use demographic analysis to determine how voters are likely to vote, but they can't just flat-out ask how everyone voted. c) Districts have no impact on the presidential election. Presidential election is done on a state level, not a district level. If you win a majority of a state's voters, you win that state (and, in most cases, all of that state's electoral college votes). Butchered Mega Man and pretty much everything related to it (Mega Man X, Mega Man Legends 3); refused to translate Ace Attorney Investigations 2; axed all of the non-English translations of the Ace Attorney games and moved to digital-only releases outside of Japan despite huge and widespread fan requests for a physical release (initially claiming that it was due to low sales then, when AA5 sold well and exceeded their self-admitted "aggressive" sales targets, kept future games digital-only seemingly just to dick with people); is one of the worst companies for nickle-and-diming customers with DLC, going so far as to charge $6 for a set of palette swaps (not new costumes but literal recolouring of already-existing costumes) in Street Fighter III: Third Strike (with the kicker being that said swaps are only visible to others who have bought the DLC). I could go on, but yeah, Capcom seems to take particular delight in being petty assholes to their fans. They seem adamantly opposed to doing anything that might make their fans happy and have criminally mismanaged virtually all of their best franchises into the ground. Blizzard, as well, thanks to the always-online D3 fiasco. For those who don't know, Gage was a railroad worker who had a piece of railroad equipment fired through his head in a freak accident, from his cheek up through his brain and out the top of his head. He's clinging way too hard to the evangelical and hard-right vote right now and he knows which side his bread is buttered on (witness his flip-flops on everything from abortion to gun control). Maybe if he was a more popular president he'd go for it, but he's not going to risk his already-tenuous support courting a crowd that probably wouldn't vote for him even if he did support legalization (witness that he claimed he did during the election campaign and still performed poorly in the demographics where weed is the most popular). --- Kill 1 man: You are a murderer.
