Huh. Looks like the first available weapon would be Jewel Knuckle, if you know the trick to get it. Otherwise a gladius, right after punching the doppleganger to death.

Presumably, there'd be a 'pity' weapon laying on the floor soon after Death, in a hypotheical dropless SOTN.

I can't think of any that aren't just laying around, give or take a bossfight being in the way.

Nope. The only drops are shit to refill your ammo and HP. Think of it as Super Metroid.

I seem to recall Shield Rod and several shields as things that are just laying around in rooms, waiting to be collected, just like Super Metroid.

That's where Fast Travel lives. You should do it more often, especially if you're sneaking down roads a few levels early and barely surviving to towns outside the main loop.

I've just always gone into the menu and then the map. I like this shortcut button though.

I, uh, didn't know that it's in the main menu, or never noticed.

Ideally we'd invest heavily in renewables including nuclear so that we have ample nuclear reactors. I'm optimistic.

Power storage is going to be the next big thing. Instead of revving up the generators during peak usage, there will be bigass capacitor banks building up a charge over the rest of the day.
Also it makes solar and wind a bit more useful.

It's not just a throwaway plot device in Batman Returns.
