I just find it weird af that Vandorlee supposedly doesn't care about this game but he's been spending every waking moment talking about it

That's what's so intriguing; he says he doesn't care, but he keeps talking about it.

Which means he either

A.) Actually DOES care and just says he doesn't, like one of those "wow I'm too cool to care" kids at school, or

B.) Doesn't actually care and has just admitted to trolling this whole time (which he doesn't need to admit anyways since we already know he is)

Kinda puts himself in a lose-lose situation tbh

Basically yeah. The characters travel together but each is following their own story. There is dialogue between characters but they don't interact as a group (At least so far.) Regardless, I love the game so far.

It starts happening when you start a characters chapter 2. You can press + in town after certain events and your party members will have dialogue with the character whose chapter it is.

Yeah... I'm still dicking around near the main loop and the various side-caves. Sneaking in to areas a few levels early is an efficient way to grind - especially so when Haanit has that stolen axe and gets extra attacks every now and then.

That's where Fast Travel lives. You should do it more often, especially if you're sneaking down roads a few levels early and barely surviving to towns outside the main loop.

I dunno. I don't feel as if there needs to be some grandiose adventure going on behind the scenes. The idea of 8 semi normal people going on their own personal journeys for sometimes selfish reasons is oddly refreshing. It feels like it's circumventing the "chosen ones save the world" trope in a nice way

This. I actually really like that it's just eight people traveling together on their own personal journeys of discovery and self-reflection. Reminds me of D&D parties where everyone has their own goals as well.
